Best Weekend

Other than not getting to be with my Mama, it was a great weekend!

On Friday night Kevin and I were going to stay home and hang out at the house.  It was just necessary after a week like last week.   But he decided we should go somewhere.  Our friends Emily and Jay were having people over so we cabbed up there.  $75 (each way!!!) later, we had an absolute blast!

Randomly we went to Coyote Joe's and there was a Kip Moore concert going on.  We were easily the oldest people there.

Saturday morning I took Mills to the vet at 8am for his booster shots.  He passed with flying colors.  On the way home, something crazy happened.  I had his back window halfway cracked and I stopped to say hi to a neighbor.  Yall MILLS JUMPED OUT OF THE BACK WINDOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I somehow put my car in park and got out REALLY quickly.  Fortunately he went straight to the neighbor and his dog and stayed put.  I mean first off - I was afraid he hurt himself because he fell from the top of my car basically.  Second I was worried he'd run off.  Ahhhhh I took a lot of deep breaths when I got my hands on him and he has lost all windows cracked privileges.

Mid morning, my friend Lindsay and her fiance Vlad came over.  They were in Charlotte from Philly for a wedding.  I fixed brunch, including a bloody mary bar and mimosas.

We used our new Waterford (why not?!) and toasted to their wedding in a few weeks and the four of us being together!

They are such a sweet couple.  Lindsay is one of my longest friends....we have known each other since we were 5.

It was fun using our new flatware, dishes and other fancy things we received for the wedding!

After brunch, we took Kevin's jeep for a spin around the neighborhood.  Lindsay and I sat in the back and giggled the whole time!

Then we shot the Red Ryder in the backyard.  Lindsay wanted to know what we did on a usual weekend.  We showed them ha!

Then we took some pictures out front.  Yes we are redoing that front door ASAP.  I HATE it!

Mills had to be included too! ;)

Saturday night Kevin and I went to an Italian restaurant for dinner and then went to his parents house for TCBY.  Such a low key night and very necessary.

On Sunday, we surprised Kevin's Mama and came to their church service.  After lunch at McAllisters, we headed on back to the house.  We walked Mills and then I planted flowers.  We cleaned up again and headed over to Kevin's parents for a Mother's Day cookout!  Filets, baked potatoes, salad, cheese biscuits, and grilled veggies were on the menu.  I was in charge of the salad and dessert.  I did angel food cake with blueberries and strawberries for dessert.  I'll share the salad soon.

Mills even got to go to his Grandparents house!  He was good as gold!  Their pooch Hazel was a lil unsure of some huge dog in her territory but they were fine together.  Mills looks pretty worried about it doesn't he?!

He loves wearing his shades!

I wish all weekends were so fun and perfect!

  5. Sounds a lot like our weekend too! I'm breaking mine up into multiple posts. I think it truly helped that the weather was nice for a change!
$75 one way?!! I think I would find a regular driver and see if he'll bargain with you.

  6. You crack me up about that door! What do you want to do? I do agree that changing a front door makes a HUGE impact on a house. When we replaced ours I nearly squealed with delight seeing the difference! PS...we move "south" on the 31st. Cocktails with the boys in tow soon?

  11. Love those mint pants - such a cute, springy outfit! Glad Mills is ok - Riley is not allowed to have cracked windows either unfortunately. I love that you guys paid $75 each way for a cab - that is something we would totally do just to not have to worry about driving.

  12. ahhhh that story about Mills and the window gave me a flashback to my old dog riding with the window halfway down (luckily he had his collar on) and saw another dog in another car and just jumped out WHILE THE CAR WAS MOVING ON A BUSY ROAD. We grabbed his leash and pulled over as quick as we could!! scared us to death, so I know how you felt!!!

  13. Laughing so hard at your Mills and the window story only because Layla totally did this in her younger days. If the windows were down and we pulled into a dog park, she would immediately jump out. Eventually we started to remember to roll the windows up :)
