Friday Happenings

It has been a week yall.  I've run around like a crazy person.  I'm incredibly busy at work and trying to get stuff done at home for Christmas too.  Yikes.  Oh and evidently I have a sinus infection.  I finally took myself to the doctor yesterday so you know I felt badly.  The antibiotic should cure me but in the meantime I won't be talking much because I've almost lost my voice and I'll be sleeping 4 pillows high!

1.  I've gotten some decorating done for Christmas and here is a sneak peek!  I got some fresh garland from a nearby Christmas tree lot and it's beautiful.  I doubled it over and put it on our stairs.  This is the first year I've decorated this house so it's been fun to figure out some new decorations!

I always get boxwood wreaths.  They are simply classic.  I ordered bows from here.  I have 24" wreaths and got 12" bows!

2.  This boy is sitting up on his own pretty well as of this week.  We worked hard on his PT over Thanksgiving when I had him for almost a week straight!  Still not rolling over but he's getting closer!

3.  I had a nail in my tire...ya know the tire we bought like 6 weeks ago.  Yep.  Thankfully it was under warranty from the dealership but I really thought the 2.5 hours to get a new tire was ridiculous.  It's done now but ugh!  I was kinda over filling up my tire with air every 4-5 days over the last few weeks and now we know the culprit!  I have run flat tires so it never fully deflated thankfully.

4.  This King went to the vet this week.  He was acting really weird (and still is) but I think it's from me being gone last week.  He's been following me around even more than usual and must be touching me at all times.  The vet also looked at a cyst under his neck and tried to deflate it with no luck.  Basically it was an $85 car ride for Mr. Mills but he's always worth it! ;)

5.  Before and after of polishing silver.  My friend Helen told me about these wipes and they work really well!

6.  When you've been gone for a week during Christmas shopping.  I've bought almost everything online this year.

7.  This creamer is good!  Don't blame me when you become obsessed!  Got it from our local grocery store!

8.  Anyone else an XM Radio listener?  We are way into station 778 - Country Christmas!

Hope everyone has a nice weekend! We hopefully will be getting our tree done and we have a couple festive activities on Sunday!

Thanksgiving Part Two

Part two begins on Black Friday!  We went shopping at Talbots and I took both children with us - YIKES!  Yes, we knew everyone in the place by the time that adventure was over!  And Grady got called a girl for the first time in the dressing room (he was again on the plane ride home!).  Perhaps dressed a bit too southern for the Maryland folks?  We even were brave enough to go to another shop before we went home for lunch!

That evening we had family dinner for Thanksgiving a day late!  Aren't they presch all dressed up in their turkeys?!  I'm basically dead over Grady's shoes!

Crabmeat appetizer and she also had a great shrimp one too!

Molly Anne made herself right at home.

Frankie was amazing and played with both of my children so much!  She teaches 3 year old pre-school so she knew Molly Anne and how she rolls instantly!

Decorating gingerbread houses!

Molly Anne loves her Frankie!  They're cousins!

Grady was a champ with Aunt Jenni!

Mimi (my parent's long time next door neighbor)!

Molly Anne LOVES the piano at my parent's house and I expect one day it may make its way down to Charlotte.  Mimi knows how to play the piano really well!  She's one of those that can play any song instantly if you name one!

I love love love that Molly Anne enjoys playing with my dollhouse so much!

Popsicles with Poppa!

Nannie had gotten her a couple of her surprise pony's that she likes so much!

Mom had Santa hats made with their names on them...of course!

I'm so lucky to have them!  It's a special thing to see my parents love on my children!

Our Sunday night meal was cream of crab soup and sweet potato biscuits with ham.  And red wine.  It was DELISH.  And Grady even really liked the soup (and biscuits)!  His first taste of crabmeat!  I want to remember that!

They both sleep really well at home-home as I call it!  She sleeps in my Uncle Mac's bunk beds that he had as a child and then they were my brother's!

At the airport VERY early on Monday morning to fly back!

We made it back to Charlotte, barely.  Haha.  It was a little rough getting back but we survived.  Both ways, people on the planes commented about how good they both were so I'll take it.  At first I was shocked they were so kind to say something but then I realized I should praise Molly Anne because she really was pretty good.  Grady is always along for the ride on life..Mr. Laid Back!  He loved his first plane ride though!

It does take careful planning to travel with two littles by myself and one that depends on bottles and diapers! ;)  But we made it and would even do it again!  It's always worth it!  We missed Kevin being with us but he held the fort down at work and with Mills.  We FaceTimed with him 800 times a day!  A special thank you to my parents who always go way out of their way when we come home.  xoxo

Thanksgiving Part One

Last Tuesday I set off on a little adventure with two children and a lot of back up everything...formula, bottles, diapers, wipes and snacks!  Oh, and an iPad because I ain't above it yall.  Here we are on our way out the door to the airport!  Mills didn't want us to leave.

I had to plan out what bags I could take because of getting from my car to the ticket counter where I could check luggage.  The business valet folks got me to the terminal but I had to think about when we came back and I was in baggage claim by ourselves and had to get up to the bus with everything.  ANYWAY.  It wasn't my first rodeo traveling with a child, but it was with two!

I had one big suitcase that I pulled and I had my purse with essentials on my shoulder and a large longchamp on my shoulder that included my makeup bag and extras of everything.  My emergency bag if you want to call it that.  Then I had Molly Anne pull my little suitcase and she had her backpack of junk that she never used.  Haha.  I checked both suitcases then we were simplified.

Oh and under the stroller I had a blanket for Grady, Molly Anne's coat, the gate check bag to put the stroller in and my Boba carrier in case I needed to carry Grady safely while getting onto the plane (which I used).  I also used it when we got back to Charlotte and threw Molly Anne into the stroller so we could bust a move to my car!  My coat and Grady's were in our checked luggage.

Yep, this.  It provided an hour and a half of silence.  And we all said Amen.

An angel, I'm telling you!

In Maryland and ready to see Nannie and Poppa!

My parents had gotten us a cake for my birthday the week before.  This is the famous Smith Island cake that Molly Anne had in July when she was potty training and I definitely gave it to her at 7:30am in July if she went potty.  So when she saw it again this time she was like, "CAKEEEE" and wanted it every 5 minutes!

We really didn't do much at all and were very laid back the entire time.  Molly Anne did a couple things with my Dad on Wednesday morning - they went to story time at the library and to Target but other than that, it was low key.

Thursday we cooked a dinner at home because we had family dinner the next day with extended family.  Molly Anne holding the turkey!

Essentials.

This boy started really teething on Thanksgiving Day!  Bless his little heart!

Ignore the mashed potatoes.  We like them and just brought the dish to the table!!  Don't look Mom!

Yeah so yeah.

Grady on the other hand loved his Thanksgiving meal.  He had turkey, sweet potatoes and mashed potatoes!  Fun fact - the first time Molly Anne had turkey was on Thanksgiving too.  Oh before I forget, we did give Grady eggs three days in a row this past weekend and no issues.  So far at least!  Maybe I'll be brave enough to do peanut butter this weekend.

After Thanksgiving dinner, we drove around and looked at lights around town!  That was fun!

Part two coming up tomorrow!
