Thursday Five

ONE - this simple $15 tee is so good. And it seems long enough too. Comes in a bunch of colors and love the big puff sleeve. I'm going to probably hang dry or dry on low so it doesn't become short! 

TWO - these jeans are super cool with heels or sneakers. 

THREE - my favorite work shoes 30% off. 

FOUR - may have to slip over to the mall and get this dress for a work dinner coming up. It's classic for any occasion. 

FIVE - laughing that my friend Hilary made me try hers on the other night because these pants are THAT good!!! I got mine in the mail this week. I'm so happy about them. I don't love the jogger look because it feels too something to me. But these are so buttery soft and they're perfect to put on when you'd wear leggings. I'd say they feel like pajama pants but you can wear them out of the house like leggings! Get your regular size. 

Intentions

Parenting is a weird and personal thing isn't it? We can sit back and judge but there's usually always more to the story on why people do things. 

The kids had Ms. Becky watch them both when they were babies. We LOVE Ms. Becky and she taught me so much about being a Mom. She never meant to I don't think but she was full of good information and I always tried to listen. The best thing I remember -

It's all about intention. As long as you have good intentions, all should be good. 

Isn't that something? She's spot on and I think about it often. 

It came up recently because I sent Grady to school and then the school nurse called me and told me he had a he fever about 4 hours into the day. I felt terrible for him and for the fact that I may have exposed other kids. But I didn't know! And I didn't have bad intentions sending him to school that day. I honestly just didn't have a clue he didn't feel good. 

But he got it from a friend then two other boys got it. And I felt so much guilt over the whole thing. They also could have gotten something by going to Target or wherever. I mean it was January and at school with 16 kids in the class. Don't worry I didn't beat myself up too much. I did feel badly though. 

All about those intentions. Keep them good and do the right thing! I'm trying and we can all do our best!

Daddy Daughter Dance and Super Bowl

I love this picture for many reasons but when kindergartners come out wearing these adorable crowns, it's soooo cute! This one was for the Chinese new year. They have mandarin as the dual language program at their school. Then we have Molly Anne playing with a string she should not have. Yikes.  

We went to Kevin's parents for his favorite dinner on Friday night because his birthday was on Saturday. His Mom made his favorite manicotti and lasagna AND cherry yum yum pie! 

The kids and Kevin dropped me off at Porters House for our friend Jade's birthday dinner. All of the birthdays! 


This happened between Porter's House and a drink at Foxcroft. The firemen asked us to send us the picture haha! 


Grady had his last game of winter flag football on Saturday morning! 


And Molly Anne had her last basketball game of the season!






Thennnnn the daddy daughter dance at school! I'm not sure who was most excited!! Found her cute dress at Belk. 






Grady and I hung out with Hilary until he went to bed. Per usual. A tradition as old as he is!!

Sunday was low key. I laid on the couch until 10:15 when I decided to get my life together haha. 

Grady and I went to the store to grab some last minute things. Our neighbors came over and we just had some appetizers, wings and burgers. Yum!








The kids went to bed after the halftime show. We actually stayed up and watched the game. Crazy!! 

Back to the week!

Five on Friday

1. Wrapping up winter sports this week. Also starting some new sports. Anyone heard of Girls on the Run? So excited about it for Molly Anne. She is stoked!

2. An easy little dinner that both of my kids ate. No peek chicken. I used a cream of mushroom and cheese soup instead of cream of chickens. 

3. A little time with my best buddy on a sun shiny day! He loves it. Cone is almost off as the spot on his elbow is almosttttt healed!

4. Monday night I had a public meeting in eastern North Carolina. It was an adventure with two grown women yelling at each other. Got my project approved though. Came home late then rode up to Indiana for the day on Tuesday. It was a good day and productive work wise. I was glad to be home for sure. 

Fun things I do for work - build dumpster enclosures where the gates fully open hahaha. also built a retail building but don't want to give away our tenant on my public blog! 

5. On the menu next week are Shrimp Greek Bowls, Cheese Tortellini in the crock pot, and Korean Beef Bowls. 

I need to figure out Super Bowl apps - likely burger sliders, buffalo chicken dip and sausage, cream cheese, rotel dip. Keeping it basic!

Looks on Thursday

Been a wild week. I'm thin coverage this week on life. I was talking to a friend the other day that has an awesome career and we were both like ahhhh we are tapped out! I need to do a post about still working a demanding job 20 years out of school with young kids.

TWO - relaxed fit, pretty color and chill tee. I love this skin material. 

THREE - puff sleeve sweatshirt, a bit dressier than most sweatshirts


FOUR - a great work top if you're in the market for fresh office clothes. 


FIVE - here for this pleated tennis skirt and I know it's expensive but it's soooo cute. 

Wagon Wheel, Sports, Galentine's and Birthday

Friday night we met our friends at The Wagon Wheel. It's down in Fort Lawn, South Carolina about 40 minutes from our house. It is sooo good. They have one of those old school salad buffets. YUM! Sarah and Molly Anne always love being together!

Then Molly Anne had her basketball against her friend's team! She and Lily guarded each other. So funny!


My friends Mandy and Kate and all of us had our little boys! Mine was a little heavy to put on my lap but I LOVED the two seconds he was up there ha 


Saturday night my friend Kelly had a ton of friends over for Galentines. It was amazing. She had it catered by Babe and Butcher and had Your Charlotte Bartender too. The best! 




I think Hilary and I got home around 12:30am or so?! I was barely alive for a brunch at the club for our friend's birthday! The boys had fun playing football out back. 


We sent the kids outside to play with our next door neighbors and basically told them to come home at 5 for dinner haha! The four of them played and played. You know...how we grew up! Go play outside. 


Happy Monday! I'm grinding early this week and on the road but back each day so it's nice to not have to spend the night out. Long days. Gonna make it happen. Chat soon!

Randoms

1. Both of the keys to my car had batteries that were toast! I replaced them this week and I'm soooo glad! They're like new again. No more opening my car with the actual key in pouring down rain ha! Remember the good ole days of having no choice but to do that each time?!!

2. I made this million dollar spaghetti the other day in about 10 min. It was so much food so will end up being three dinners for us. Had one serving on Sunday, had the other on Tuesday. And froze one! 

3. Never under estimate grilled cheese and tomato soup night. My kids didn't love the tomato soup but they do like most soups. Any kind would work! 

4. Got my nails done last week and was going to do a light pink but Lee told me to do this chrome look for something out of my bubble - OPI Throw Me A Kiss

5. A golden retriever at church! They're training him to serve in the church. I mean seriously!!! Sooooo cute!

6. Our next door neighbor dropped these by this week and they are SO pretty to have in the middle of our island! Thanks Hil! 

7. They are OBSESSED with this boy. 


8. Lilly sweater but tuck it in and make it work attire!

9. Back to my people! They loved the sunset and requested a picture. 

10. Pretty glasses in my cabinet!
