The Weekend

Little late in the day for this post!

I got to play tennis during lunch on Friday and was finally able to grab a new tennis racquet. My parents gave it to me for Christmas but I had been waiting for the new one to come out. It’s already helping my tennis elbow compared to the racquet from middle school that I’ve been playing with!

Molly Anne won jackpot on the wheel on Friday in her class so she got 25 tickets. She was soooo excited. The more tickets the better because you get to cash them in to do certain things!

Mills’ favorite window in the house. He sits in the guest room a lot just watching what’s going on. Yes I keep the blind raised high enough just for him!

My dad sent me this and I love it so much. They had worn their NC State gear for the basketball game against Carolina on Saturday. Go pack!

We played many rounds of Sorry this weekend, but in general we didn’t do much. Just hung around and honestly it was so nice. We went to dinner with Kevin’s parents on Friday night then Kevin went out with a friend Saturday during the day and that was about it.

Sunday prep for the week. I swear this makes such a difference in what we eat for the week. I also had some strawberries that I cleaned. Molly Anne cut all of the zucchini for me. Delish.

Oh and we finally finished this puzzle that we started in November. The next day we started a new one - popsicles! We love having a puzzle going in our dining room. Any of us will go in there and zone out for a bit and work on it. Good for the mind!

Having a bit of a wacky week with childcare and work travel so making it happen how it has to happen. Come to work with Mama week! Learning all about commerical real estate! Chat soon!

Four on Friday

We made it to Friday!

ONE:
Anyone else measure their kids?! Right now Grady is about an 1” taller than Molly Anne was at his same age! I’d expect so considering how much he eats. The other morning he ate breakfast with Molly Anne and they each had a small smoothie, hard boiled egg and mini muffins. Then Grady came home after taking her to school and begged for more food. He ate a mini sausage biscuit and a waffle. Then went to school and he had a half of a banana. I mean REALLY!

Anyway it’s been fun to have this little wall in our mud room with measurements. We have a couple extra friends on there too which is cute.

TWO:
In the culdesac around the corner from us they were pouring some concrete on Wednesday afternoon. You know Grady had to go check it out. They were so sweet. All of the concrete truck
drivers honked at him. He loved it!

THREE:
Evidently I’m on a Liz Adams recipe kick because I made these the other night and they’re legit!

I love these tortillas and Teeter is carrying them now! They’re the healthiest ones I found. Actually my friend Justine posted about them and that’s how I found them.

FOUR:
Molly Anne brought this down from the 3rd floor and put on a puppet show for us! It was cute. She’s so creative. Oh. I got her some valentine craft things from Target and you would have thought I bought her the moon. She was sooooo excited. Girlfriend loves some crafts.

White with Green

I wasn't really planning to have all white/neutral items this week but this is the way it played out...with a pop of kelly green!

This top comes in white and black. Having a hard time deciding!

Love the simple style with the pretty color.

I ordered this right when I saw it. It is so comfortable and fits well. Comes in a hot pink too. It’s one of those very soft sweaters and not too hot or itchy!

Did I tell you all that I returned my golden goose sneakers? I just couldn't do it. 1. Everyone has them, therefore I didn't want them. 2. I don't love the star design, I know, I'm weird. 3. I felt really funny walking into my child's school in them..which I never did but I didn't like the thought of it. 4. I could erase all of these reasons and be wearing some in a week but these are my thoughts today. Literally they sat in my closet for a few weeks before I was like okay evidently I'm not going to wear these. My P448's on the other hand....still obsessed.

Okay now that we have that out in the wild, I love these shoes

A basic sweater that comes in a few colors and can be dressed up or down.

Mid-Week Randoms

1. The balance bike is the step before taking off his training wheels on his 12” bike. That’s how Molly Anne made it happen and Grady is well on his way. We shall see!

They love to be outside and riding bikes or scooters! Molly Anne’s is a 20” bike in case you were curious. She’s about 48” tall.

2. I made this Winter Harvest salad last night after seeing it on Liz Adams’ blog! I typically don’t love fruit on a salad but this was really good. Highly recommend! I just broke it down for the kids - they had rotissserie chicken, sweet potato, cucumbers and blueberries!

3. Always right on my workout mat when I need it. He will literally lay there and let me plank right over him. Anytime I’m in our gym, you will find Mills there too. best workout mat!!

4. Molly Anne’s teacher sent me this of her on the playground Monday. Love love.

5. Treading water at work this week. Yikes. Making it happen but WHEW. I’m mentally fragile because of it!!

Day 4 - Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios

We got there right before Magic Kingdom opened. One thing I didn’t know is that only Fantasyland and Tomorrow land open for the extra half hour for resort guests.

Barnstormer

Ready for Thunder Mountain which we “rope dropped” aka we waited inside the park for them to take down the rope and let us walk quickly to the ride we wanted first.

Then Seven Dwarfs Mine Train ahhhh! I don’t love rollercoasters but tolerate most of disneys. We had to pay for this one too. I didn’t love having to pay extra for all of these rides. Maybe they’re trying to recoup money from the last two years?!

Teacups are always a hit.

We let the kids each pick out one thing from Disney. This is what Grady chose and he has loved playing with it!

We headed back to the hotel midday and had lunch at the brewery on the boardwalk. It was delicious and fun.

Kevin took grady back for nap and Molly Anne and I rode the skyliner around hah.

We picked up the boys then headed to Hollywood studios for our genie reservation at Slinky Dog Dash. Both kids say it was there favorite ride of all!

So excited for it!

In the very front!

We had dinner at Sci Fi which you sit in cars and watch weird old shows. I’ll be honest we didn’t love this dinner but whatever. It was something different for sure!

We hit Mickeys Railway and then headed back to the hotel. We really had to get in bed before 9pm at this point in the trip. We were DONE.

Saw Mickey and Minnie on the way out.

And this is what Molly Anne picked out - new ears!

On Tuesday we hopped in the car at 7am and drove home. There’s no tired like Disney tired. Both kids slept in the car and Molly Anne never sleeps in there.

These are some things I got on Amazon to entertain them on the ride. Let’s be honest, they watched a lot of their tablet too.

We were very excited to see our groomed boy and pick him up from Golden Retriever camp!

We’ve definitely checked Disney off our list for a long time. Disney isn’t for the faint of heart. It’s rush rush and go go if you have limited days. And of course expensive. But the joy in the children’s eyes is worth it!!!
