Neighbors and Soccer

Monday, Monday.

Well I'll recap our little weekend for you all.

Friday night we headed over to the playground with some friends.  Molly Anne is over there with a bunch of neighborhood boys right in the middle.  See her?  Thankfully the boys had left by the time Kevin got there because I'm sure he would have been real impressed ha!

Playing with some girlfriends!

We went home about 5:30pm for dinner and literally threw some hot dogs over the fence to our next door neighbors who were already grilling out so we joined them.

Molly Anne and I went home so I could give her a bath and put her in bed but before that we had a little outdoor music contest to see whose music was louder.  They won!  They have a bunch of yard speakers that sound amazing.  Now we have to get some yard speakers so we can be louder than Drew's!  Neighborly fun!

Kevin and Drew came over to our house and I went back to Hilary's for some more beverages while the girls were all in bed for the night.  This was the first of many nights like this I bet.  Thankful to have super cool friends right next door!

Saturday morning was the first soccer session of Spring 2018!  Molly Anne was so excited and really got into it this time.  She has Coach Shana again so she was thrilled to tell her about her big girl bed ha!  Ya know, beds and soccer go hand in hand!

She remembered the airplane move right away and showed everyone right when Coach Shana mentioned it! ;)

Double high five for scoring a goal when it wasn't her turn!

Hector also came to the house on Saturday morning and helped us out so much.  He moved carpet remnants to the 3rd floor and laid those out, he took curtain rods down, put new ones up in several places, nailed an anchor into brick, hung a ton of pictures inside and looked at some shelving we may have him do in the garage.  He is the best.  Thank you Christina, April and Sarah for the rec!  We've had him do stuff on rental houses before but never ours so this was a huge treat!

Nap time well spent on Sunday....

Hope everyone had a nice weekend!  We ended the weekend by grilling out again.  Kevin made burgers and we had pineapple and roasted brussels sprouts on the side.  Tonight we are having a frozen chicken parm from Sam's Club (first time so we'll see how it is) and we also have taco salads on the menu again this week.

Lately

The weather in Charlotte has been so nice outside so every day after I pick Molly Anne up, we've been playing outside.  Chalk and a wagon ride are always top on her list!

Kevin has also been coming home a bit earlier this week and one day he took her for a ride in his jeep around the hood!  I'm not sure who was most excited to do this!  Molly Anne hasn't stopped talking about it!

Bubba has been sleeping in her bathroom for the past few nights.  He's obsessed.  I love when he curls up into a ball like this.

"Mills, wanna play with my caterpillar with me?"  Mills looks real enthused doesn't he?

Ohhhhhh Mills she says and gives him a big hug and kiss!

Since we moved in, he has found this little spot behind the chair and resting his head on the sliding glass door track.  It can't be comfortable but he loves it!  He's always here if he's not on the sofa!

Last night we went to a fitness place to look at gym equipment and this one was a good little girl and was very patient!

We went to dinner afterwards and then got ice cream and sat by the fountain to eat it!  It's the little things, she was SO excited!  And chocolate ended up all over her brand new shirt which is super cute and she'll wear all summer with everything!  I got it out right when we went home!

Friday morning hanging out!

I'm wearing this fun new shirt today with jeans!  It's super comfy, a good length and reasonable!  I've been into some Old Navy lately, they have such good basics!

This weekend we don't have a ton of plans but we are definitely going to the playground this afternoon, we have soccer tomorrow morning and a handyman coming to hang a bunch of frames, finally!  Happy weekend to yall!

Great/Cute Deals for Molly Anne and I!

I wish I didn't love clothes for Molly Anne so much but I really do!  I have taken inventory of what she has for this Spring and Summer so now at least I know what she NEEDS versus just stuff I like and have to buy.  I'm really only getting her things she needs!

I fell in love with this bathing suit for her!  It's free shipping and 20% so my total was $21!

I had gotten her this one last Fall.  She will have THE cutest bathing suits for hanging at the pool all summer long.  Cannot wait to get back to the pool!  Girlfriend lives for it!

I also picked these white jeans up for her.  She always wants to be just like me and I wear mine a lot so she will love to have a new pair in a size that fits her for this year!

She is VERY into dresses right now and since it's been in the 60's and 70's in Charlotte, she's wearing a ton of the 3/4 length sleeve dresses!  I'm thinking about getting her one or two of these Lilly ones.  They will last her into the Fall and she wears them really often.  She only has three dresses right now that fit her so they have been on repeat.  At least I know these are good quality!

I got this dress last weekend at Old Navy for $7.  I can't find it for that cheap online for some reason but their deals are different depending on if you're in store or online.  I got the Tall version even though I'm 5'7" so I could wear it to work.  It is the perfect shift dress and flattering, comes right to an 1" or so above my knees.  I have trouble with the swing dresses sometimes because they look like a bag on me, depending on where they are from.  This was a complete score, looks like J. Crew or Talbots....for so much cheaper!

Mary Scott’s 2nd Birthday

On Saturday we went to Mary Scott’s 2nd birthday party!  Minnie and Mickey came and Sarah had balloon and face painting artists too!  It was adorable and all of the children had a blast.  It really think Mary Scott was born yesterday so this is just wild that she will be two tomorrow!

So excited to see Minnie!  She ran right up to her before she could get in the door!

And then again once she got inside!

She wanted a “unicorn with black hair!”  Ha!

Dances and dances!

The birthday girl!!!

Molly Anne, Emme, Maggie, Lucas and Gigi sad that Minnie and Mickey left!

Happy Birthday to our sweet Mary Scott!!!

Weekend and Meal Plan

This is how our weekend went down...

Friday -
We walked to the playground after I picked her up.  Then came back and Nana and PapaG were at our house with dinner!

Saturday -
Kevin took Molly Anne to his parents that morning for a few hours and I got so many things done.  Home Goods, Old Navy, brushing Mills, cleaned the floors in the house, laundry.  When she came home we had lunch outside!  First of many on our porch!

After not napping (ugh), we went to Mary Scott’s birthday party.  I ended up taking a bunch of pictures so I’ll make that it’s own post tomorrow!  It was super cute, of course!

That night, Kathryn came over and we went to Beef and Bottle with two other couples!  It was so good and a fun night out.  We didn’t get home until after midnight!  I wore this comfortable new dress. I think I’ll be wearing this a ton this Spring - easy to throw on and looks put together, for $40!

Sunday -
Yesterday morning, Molly Anne and I went to Dunkin for a special little celebratory treat!  I even got an iced coffee which I hadn’t had in awhile.  Her Spring placemat from this same shop where I got her Valentines one!

We watched Elevation and the little queenie pulled this baby swing out of storage and got comfortable.  Ha!  We have got to get some of that stuff more organized.

She didn’t nap again Sunday (but did lay in her bed for two hours).  Afterwards, we played outside for awhile and enjoyed the weather.  I ended up falling asleep on our sofa on the porch with loud music playing while she and Kevin played in her playroom.

Oh I also went INTO the grocery store yesterday (gasp!) and got some things for dinner this week.

1.  Last night we grilled these low country foil packs, these mushrooms and MA and I had some steamed broccoli
2.  Lettuce wrap tacos
4.  We will probably get Viva Chicken or Chopt salads one night.

Fast asleep by 6:45pm!  That’s what happens when you don’t nap!  ;)

I went to bed at 9:30pm and didn't wake up until 7am this morning - it was as glorious as it sounds and much needed!

Hope everyone has a good week!  I’ll be back tomorrow with a cute birthday party!

House Update - WE HAVE GRASS!

These pictures make me so so so happy.  Especially the pictures at the end where you see Mills and Molly Anne screaming and so excited to have a yard to play in!  On Wednesday night this huge tractor trailer and then another flat bed truck delivered 23 pallets of sod.  We were hoping to only use 20 pallets but I found out this morning we are going to use them all.  Ugh $$$.  But, we want it done right at this point.

Yesterday morning it was finally dry enough and not going to rain for two days so they were going to finally be able to get it laid.  Honestly, it's been too wet to even cut the sod, let alone lay it in our mud pit.  It's been a longgggg 8 weeks of having no grass!

They laid the front and back yesterday and today they are shaping it up and laying the front left side down.

Millsy was SO excited!  He couldn't wait to get out there and RUN!

I love some before and after pictures.

Here is the morning of....

And after...about 9 hours later!  Amazing right?!

And again....

Ahhhhhh!

Front yard....

Ta da!  Over the next few weeks, it'll get a lot more green and fresh looking!

Look how happy he was!  It doesn't hurt that it was 76 degrees and sunny on February 15th either!

We grilled out and played out back.  Made me so happy.  I cannot wait for this Spring and Summer!  Lots of grilling and playing out back with music and beverages!

This was honestly the most excited I've been about something with our house.  Molly Anne and Mills were just so HAPPY and that made me so happy!  And they were both gearing to get out there again this morning so we did it all over again!  EEEEE!!!!  Now after the initial excitement, we just have to TRY to stay off of it for a couple of weeks so it takes.
