Different Items

I wanted to get a little different but stay the same this week. Somewhere in the middle of that. Here are some finds:

ONE - love the colors on this new dress

TWO - my ole trusty suit. I wore this at the beach this past weekend and it’s so comfortable. Size up.

THREE - grabbed this beach pack on sale this week. Not sure if it still is. This truly is the best beach pack - lotion on the kids before we leave the house then I touch them up with spray throughout the beach day.

FOUR - pink and orange - yes.

FIVE - I saw this girl at dinner last weekend and I loved her hair clip. It made me inspired to search for some that are cute to zazz up my hair this summer when I wear it up. Loved these

Day In The Life

I never want to forget these days because even though I’m in the thick of it, it is so wonderful! Here it goes with not many pretty pictures!

6:06am - my alarm went off. I got up and mostly ready (hair and makeup) before Molly Anne’s alarm went off at 6:15am. I wear workout clothes until she is at school.

6:15am - Molly Anne woke up and got herself ready. I don’t do much with her because I always lay out her outfit the night before. She primps her own hair etc!

6:30am - we went downstairs and she eats. Sometimes Grady is up and he gets himself dressed too and he comes to eat with Molly Anne.

6:58am - we are out the door to take Molly Anne to school. Grady comes with us about 75% of the time. Carline picture when she was holding was “pi” is on March 14th!

7:10am - back from school and then we had about 30-35 minutes. I wrapped up m the kitchen, serviced mills and changed into work clothes. Most times Grady eats more when we come back from taking Molly Anne. He’s never full in the morning no matter how much I give him!

7:45am - out the door with Grady to take him to school. First we stopped at the UPS store which is a very common occurance. We had to take his scooter there that broke! Then off to his school which is about 15 minutes towards my office.

8:20am - I walked him into school then I was back in my car 10 minutes later. That was a record…usually I spend too much time talking to teachers or friends.

8:45am - at this point, I’m driving and I blast my music loudly to get ready for the day. I sometimes make calls for work to knock things out. I finally made it to my office in the southpark area of Charlotte.

Work work work.

12:45pm - I decided I needed to eat lunch so I ordered Yafo from my desk then just ran to pick it up. Ate at my desk while doing other things.

1:00pm - the HVAC guys showed up at our beach house so my neighbor let them in. Note to self - find out what they fixed and pay them.

2:00pm - Julie picked up Molly Anne from school and brought her home to do homework etc. Julie also unpacks and repacks Molly Anne’s lunch. It’s amazingggg.

2:30pm - well I had to scoot out of my office extra early because swim team started on Monday and I’m trying to figure out that schedule. It’s only for a few weeks that I have to leave before 3. I grabbed Grady, got home and had him change into his swim suit.

Work continues on my phone. It’s never ending with what I do. My phone rings constantly and the emails are plentiful…that’s a nice way to say it.

3:40pm - we were back out the door for swim team from 3:45-4:15.

4:00pm - Julie leaves but on her way out, she dropped Molly Anne at the neighborhood pool for her swim team practice 4:15-5:00.

4:30pm - I left Molly Anne at swim and took Grady home to get him fed and dressed for teeball pictures and practice. My friend Natasha brought her home.

5:30pm - we had all eaten a quiche that I made the night before that I popped in the oven. Grady and I left for pictures. The traffic has been horrendous due to construction and I didn’t want to be late.

6:15pm - pictures and practice for Grady. Meanwhile, Molly Anne was hanging with Kevin and getting her act together after swim. I got some work stuff done during practice.

7:30pm - we got home and I did about 50 things while Kevin got Grady bathed and ready for bed. I had to fix our irrigation, clean up the kitchen counters, water the flowers, start a load of laundry, start the dishwasher add a note to Molly Anne’s lunchbox, do a couple of work things and clean up junk downstairs.

8:00pm - I put Grady to bed (usually his bedtime is 7pm but teeball messed that up). Molly Anne was already in bed by 7:45pm and was reading more at 8pm when she shouldn’t have been. She will read an entire book every night if I let her.

8:00pm - I worked for about an hour and a half. Then I took a shower and wrapped a birthday present for one of Grady’s friends to give later this week. Thank you Amazon for that delivery.

9:45pm - I’m laying in bed typing this.

10:00pm - goodnight! 6am comes early and I require 8 hours of sleep!

Mother’s Day Weekend at the Beach

We had a fabulous weekend at the beach. Before we went I got to go to Grady’s school for my last Muffins with Mom! It’s always a favorite to attend and the children are super cute. They sung an alphabet song and each letter stood for a letter that describes their mom. It was adorable.

These are always a fav too. Yes I’m 24 and for fun I like to work at home! Hahah

We took Molly Anne out of school a couple of hours early. It is way easier to do that because then we get to the beach and still have time to go to dinner. It feels much longer of a weekend.

We went to the beach to check on our new deck as well. They are almost finished and what a relief it will be to have that much safer. The wood was original to the house and had lots of rusty nails. We get afternoon sun on the back of the house so that wears it down faster too. So, we had the whole thing torn down, stairs as well, and replaced with a trex type material by Fiberon. It is so much nicer and will be maintenance free. Here is Grady watching the guys work!

We headed over to Jinks for dinner to meet an old friend of Kevin’s, Dan and his girlfriend Tanya. It was nice to meet her and we enjoyed hanging out with them all weekend.

My two loves!

It was a gorgeous night on our back porch watching the sun set.

Saturday morning I took walk/ran down to the groin which I’ve been wanting to do. It’s about 5 miles round trip but it’s beautiful. I walked down on the beach and ran back on the road. I saw a couple of friends on the way which is always nice. Then I took the kids to the arcade. Well of course. This picture of Molly Anne on the machine cracks me up.

We scooted out to the beach and hung the rest of the day. These four don’t even know how good they have it! They played for hours, ate sunset slush and had the time of their life. Beach people!

Came home to put some handprints into the concrete that had to be poured for our steps.

And then we went kayaking. Talk about a workout with the current in the canals. It’s very fun though. My parents gave me this for Christmas. I need to get a life jacket then we will go further! The kids love it.

Cocktail hour! Mills is so happy here.

We went to Hilary and Drew’s for smash burgers on their blackstone for dinner. Delish as always.

Sunday morning I took Mills out on the beach. He hadn’t been since January when the bone cancer stuff started. They didn’t want him exercising too much and then he had an open wound for so long. He was sooooo happy to be out there.

The kids both slept until 9:30am so that was amazing. They gave me the sweetest cards and so did Kevin.

We cruised back to charlotte and flowers from my parents were here!

Kevin’s parents and brother came over for take out Chinese. That was fun and easy. Grady and Nana. He is soooo sweet and lovable.

It was a great day and now let the week commence! Summer swim starts today so here we go!

Friday - Grady’s actual day

Wanted to be sure I posted about Grady’s actual birthday on Tuesday! He was up quite early and ready to open presents before Molly Anne went to school at 7! We gave him train tracks, train, a fire truck and a couple other small things. He had fun opening everything!

We rolled into school with the same hat that Molly Anne got from last week when they celebrated her summer birthday at school!

At the end of the day, Molly Anne, Kevin and I went to his school to sing and have cupcakes with he and his friends.

And Molly Anne got to read to his class! She had the same teacher that Grady has so this was extra sweet.

Ms. Fran and Ms. Peggy are sooooo sweet!

We zipped home and Kevin’s parents came over to celebrate. We had tacos (Grady’s request) for dinner. He wanted soft and told us to be sure we got some hard taco shells because he knew that’s what Molly Anne wanted! Nana and PapaG gave him a new two wheel scooter and he is stoked!!! Moving on up.

Maggie and Greer stopped by to give him a gift and had some cupcakes. It was a fun day! He told us he had a lovely day and gave me a big hug around my neck! And now he’s 5!

Thursday Finds

Ahhh this has been such a busy week of birthday fun for our little Grady. He is such a joy to be with these days and he’s growing up right before our eyes. He told me that he had the best birthday and he gave me the biggest hug and it just made me so happy. The day before his birthday at swim class, he mastered backstroke and my eyes got all teary because I was so proud of him! Ahhhh!! Anyway, here is some cuteness for this week…

ONE - love this suit

TWO - a dress for many occasions

THREE - finally a plain ole loose fitting workout top

FOUR - love having some subtle patterned shirts in my closet like this one

FIVE - I wear my blue and white maxi dresses like this one probably too often!

Grady’s 5th Birthday Party - Super Mario

Grady is very into Super Mario since we gave them the Nintendo Switch for Christmas! We do have healthy boundaries of not becoming too addicted but he likes Mario so he wanted to have that as his theme for his big party!

I surprised him with Mario balloons on Sunday morning! He was so excited!

Of course Ms. Gail made him his cake!

Then we showed up to BounceU for his party at 1pm on Sunday. Can’t do Saturdays during baseball season! He loves bounce houses so that’s why we chose this place. Molly Anne had her birthday party here one year and the kids just love it.

I got the paper products at Party City, including the Mario and Luigi hats. I got the banner from Etsy and also the invitation from Etsy!

Please don’t shoot me but I like to give one nicer item instead of a goodie bag. I know the kids prefer the junky cutie goodies but I think something more practical is more my style. But don’t worry, I’ve done many goodie bags in the past. Got them these coloring books with a rainbow pencil

That’s a happy boy right there! He was sooooo excited for his party!

With Cayden

And Neyland

Back at home ready to open presents. Molly Anne shared her crown with him to wear! One whole hand!

Mario buddy!

Opening gifts is more fun when a friend comes over to help!

Super soaker!

Playing a new game!

He gone! Big day! I’m so glad he enjoyed every piece of it!
