Seal Team Six Book

I'm not a big reader.  In fact, I basically only read blogs, magazines and the newspaper...much to my Mother's dismay.  I've just always been more of a numbers person rather than a reader. 

Anyway I heard about this book on the radio and went to get it on Wednesday.  I thought it would be a good plane book since I get soooo bored on the plane.  My ipod is only so exciting!

I get big into investigations and think the seals are super fascinating.  I know this book had nothing to do with the timing of the seals killing Osama but it's made me more into it all.  The training that the seals go through is crazy and I can't wait to read more about it. 

Do you like books like this?  I know it isn't really girly but oh well!  We all like different things, right?!

1.  One of my favorite things to do is to give gifts.  There is nothing better in my opinion!

2.  I'm definitely a bargain shopper (for clothes) 95% of the time but I do enjoy getting some special pieces every now and then.  My Mom taught me about getting the special pieces! ;)  Right Dad!

3.  Love commercial real estate and I'm thankful for the opportunity to join this wonderful company 4 years ago.

4.  I joined Twitter only to follow the whole Bachelor/Bachelorette crowd...but now I love following and chit chatting with lots of you ladies!  Leave me your twitter name if you'd like!

5.  Some days I feel like I live in an airport.  One day soon, I need to share my traveling secrets of flying during the week and on the weekends and how to not get stressed out.

6.  I secretly would love to live in San Diego.  Kevin and I really loved it when we were out there in February.

7.  The one thing I don't like about Charlotte - not near the water.  Well we have a lake but that doesn't really count.  I'm talking the Atlantic Ocean or a major river!

Dress for a Wedding

Sorry for no post yesterday, in the morning I flew to VA Beach for a couple meetings and back last night.  Today I'm trying to regroup (AKA figure out if there are enough hours in the day) and we're going to Boston with Kevin's parents for the long weekend tomorrow.  So excited!

Last week I was looking for a dress to wear to a wedding in Boston this weekend.  Well let's be honest, I didn't really neeeeed a new one but I'm so tired of wearing the same ones.

So I called the Gretchen Scott store in Jupiter, FL and she sent me this Silk Crepe Tang Dress.  SOOOO cute but it didn't fit me right.  What a bummer.  But how fun is it?  Love it for something different!

Today at lunch I'm on the hunt for a dress.  If I find one, great, if not, I'll wear one I already have and maybe accessorize it differently or something.  I usually wear the J. Crew bridesmaids dresses to weddings (as a guest).

Benny's Birthday and Mother's Day

Did yall have an exciting weekend?  Why are they always so short?

On Friday night Kevin and I had a lil date night which included homemade pizzas, looking at some investment properties he's interested in and TCBY for some yogurt.  It was nice to just be together and hang out!

Saturday we layed by the pool and hung out with some neighbors for dinner.  Then we took a cab out to the Thirsty Beaver for Benny's birthday get together.  Well his name is Ben but I call him Benny.  He was one of my first friends at NC State.  Remember a few weeks ago when I had gone on a top secret mission?  It was to help him look at rings for his girl Jackie.  Oh what fun that was!  He proposed a couple wees ago in Jamaica!  They are such a nice couple....we love them!

Brad and Tom came to see us.  Brad is one of Kevin's oldest friends too....they go back a lonngggggg time.

Below is Kevin and I with the happy couple!  We had a good time celebrating Benny's birthday.

Yesterday we went to Kevin's parents house (about 45 minutes south of Charlotte) to grill out for Mother's Day.  Kevin's sis in law fixed banana pudding and I made baked beans and coleslaw.  It was nice to spend it with his Mama!  Kevin and his brother both gave her hanging baskets!  It was funny that they got her the same thing but they were all gorgeous!

Cinco de Mayo

Last evening I flew back into Charlotte and we decided to go walk over to Alive After Five for a bit with some of our neighbors, Steven & Misty and Elena & Kevin (in the below pic with Kevin and I).  We all had a great time and got to see some other folks from our building too.

Kevin and I love going over there because we get to see so many friends we haven't seen awhile and it's always great to catch up with them!

We headed home pretty early and got our acts together for work today.  I'm glad to be back in the office and have big things to get accomplished today.

Dora and Cinco de Mayo

Yesterday I get an email that says, "Please send to Anna Kate." 

Attached is the above picture - Dora and Kevin.

Dora was at the shop next door to his agency so he went over to take these pictures.  And he knows how much Anna Kate loves Dora.  So we sent them to Emily (my SIL) and she said Anna Kate couldn't stop smiling - Kevin and Dora in one picture! 

Then of course he had to have another one of just Dora waving to Anna Kate!  Haha!!!  It's the little things, friends!

Today, I'm flying back to Charlotte from my parents house.  I'm sad to leave my parentals but glad to get back.  I need to get things done at home and in the office before traveling most of next week too.

This is a weird fact back Kevin and I have never seen each other on Cinco de Mayo.  The first year, I was on a work trip and last year, Kevin was in Atlanta training with Allstate.  Pretty funny!

What are yall doing to celebrate tonight?  Cooking in or going out?
