Courtney and Daniel
Introducing Courtney and Daniel as husband and wife!
We had the best time at their wedding! They were so adorable and I know they will have a long, happy marriage! Courtney and I were sorority sisters in college and she has more friends than anyone I know! I talked about her bridal shower here.
Below is Bethany and I. She graduated the semester I joined but she was the first person I talked to in Chi O. She's a special lady and it was so great to see her! When I told Kevin about Bethany his response was, "oh so I have her to thank for all these fun weddings!" Haha!
After shades...
Some of the NC State Chi O's... Tracy, me, Nicole, Melody, Amanda, Sterlina, Katy. Loved seeing you girls!!!
Melissa! She is fabulous and also Suz's sorority big sis!
Courtney and Daniel left but came back for an after party in the hotel lobby bar! Yall have fun on your honeymoon! Congratulations!!!!!! We're SO happy for you!
Of course Kevin and I stopped at Ri Ra's on our walk home for a drink. Always a mistake to go out after a wedding but we had a fun time hanging on the patio!
PS - this post is so late in the day because blogger was down in the southeast most of today!

Alive After Five
Last night we went to Alive After Five over at Epicentre (a block of restaurants, bars etc.). There was some Led Zeppelin cover band that I thought was really weird. But we saw a ton of people and got to catch up with them.
We typically go to Alive After Five most Thursdays but I had put myself on probation from them since the first one which was at the beginning of April. Let's just say, work didn't work out too well that Friday morning so I haven't deserved to go out on weeknight since! As I like to say, I was overserved!
Anyway, I was on my best behavior last night! Wow, it is crazy though what some girls wear. Yall - there was some major trash there. I don't care how much or how little money you have to buy clothes with, you don't have to wear 5" long skirts! My goodness! Always an adventure people watching though!
Have a relaxing weekend!

Seagull Shirt
Every time I'm home, Mom and I like to go to South Moon Under down in Ocean City, much to Dad's dismay. ;) South Moon Under is only in Maryland and north so unfortunately we don't have one in Charlotte. They have super cute things and it's the kind of shop that you probably won't see anyone else wearing what you get. Know what I mean?
How cute is this seagull shirt that we picked up?
I think it will look awesome with some white pants, khaki skirt/pants or dark jeans (aka, not the jorts that it is shown with!).
I haven't found the perfect time to debut it yet but it'll be really fun when I do!
Don't you love those special shirts that you will always remember the story behind it?!

Kevin's Allstate Agency
Big news to announce! Kevin has offically closed on an Allstate agency as of yesterday!!!! Here he is a couple months ago signing the purchase contract. Prior to this, every night was used to write a business plan, get approved through Allstate, formulate a deal with the existing owner and obtain financing. Since signing up, he has completed five weeks of training (4 in Atlanta, 1 in Chicago) and written many of marketing strategies.
As with most "first days," yesterday was very hectic and it will take some time to figure out what works and what doesn't. This is the house where his agency is located...it is about 45 minutes south of Charlotte. He can write business in North and South Carolina since he is a "border agent."
This has been a long time coming for Kevin. He worked for his dad at Allstate for a few years and when he retired, Kevin worked for the new owner for a couple more years. Kevin wanted to move to corporate world and he worked for Bank of America for five years. During this, he got a ton of great financial experience as an advisor for financial advisors on their difficult cases (Kev - am I saying this right?!.....ha, like he is even reading this!). He wanted back into the insurance business where he could still do the financial work. The agency was for sale in his hometown - it was all the perfect fit and seemed right!
I'm so proud of him, as I know his parents, family and my parents are too. As a matter of fact, my parents are adorable and sent him a Peace Lily yesterday. How cute is that?!
So hopefully this explains where I've been the past five months! We've really learned a lot about each other working together to get this done. We definitely think differently with regard to business but together we accomplished the common goal! In other words, it is good we had both of us and two opinions to formulate the best deal possible for him!
Kevin, here's to you! I'm so proud of you and what you've done! You are going to do so well in your new business!!!

VA and MD
We had a big time this past weekend in Virginia and Maryland. We started out last Wednesday and drove up to Williamsburg and stopped in Richmond for dinner. I had gotten recommendations from Suz but we were starving and were rushed it was so late that we ended up just going into some random mexican place on the main street. It wasn't good and we learned our lesson!
The little main street area is super cute and I saw this fun crab pillow in the window of one of the shops.
Thursday evening we drove to my parents on the eastern shore of Maryland. We had a cocktail hour with my parents and then went out to La Roma for dinner. Friday we went by our church to show it to Kevin, by GB Heron (the best jewelry store ever) and then down to the beach. We drove around Assateague Island and saw a few wild horses!
We drove around the marina in West Ocean City.....(love the dog on the dock!)
Then had soft shell crab sandwich's on the water at Sunset Grill. Poor Dad was working and couldn't join us!
That evening, we had some neighbors visit with us and then we had crab cakes for dinner - yum!
Saturday morning, we got up and washed the cars and the boat! Then we took a ride down the river. Mom and Kevin:
The Captains!
We came home and showered up and headed to Old Mill Crabhouse in Delmar, DE. YUM!! Can you see the trend of crabs here?!! LOVE THEM! Can't find the good ones in Charlotte!
This was Kevin's second time picking them and I think he may like the snow crab legs better. He just doesn't see the point of the picking and all that stuff....I think it is in the culture of growing up on the eastern shore!!! He still has a good time going with us though!
Sunday morning, we geered up and went on the boat again, this time to the Tangier Sound. We brought bait to go fishing and crabbing. While we only caught two fish, we had a good time! Here is dad cutting up the peelers to use!
This is right before he caught a croaker!
I caught a crab on a fishing rod and couldn't even get him in off the line. Ughhh!!
An amazing Memorial Day weekend with my parents. THANK YOU ALL SOOOOO much for everything!!!!!!
