Randoms

I was in Maryland for a night a couple of weeks ago. Wanted to check in on my parents! Trying to do that every 6-8 weeks as best I can with the kid's activities and work. First stop - cream of crab soup with Dad!!

I know we all do so much laundry but I gotta say, I'm about to have Molly Anne do her own. The child has the tallest pile by far every time I fold the clothes. Kevin has noticed too (he actually helps me fold often) and he said she will stop if she does her own. Hmmmm! If the people that live with me continue to leave their things inside out, they get returned to them inside out. I'm over doing all of that!

100th day of school! Grady was so funny and Molly Anne told him funny things to say in an old man voice. Not one person dressed up in 5th grade evidently. Molly Anne wanted to but decided not. Prob a good thing but I like that she's still herself!

We try to go on walks pretty often. This time we were at the playground. The kids wanted to take pics in the same place as they had before. Check out this comparison of them! Time flies!

  1. My kiddos are just a tad older than MA & Grady (11 & 9) and I've been having them chip in to help with the laundry for a year or so now. The inside out thing drives me crazy-so I'll have them come turn everything right side out before I even throw it in the washer. Nobody wants to reach into a damp dirty gym sock-even the kid who has worn it! Additionally, I pull things out of the dryer and have hangers ready to put shirts, sweaters, etc on since we hang the majority of their clothes. They are fully responsible for making sure their folded/hanging clothes get put away. Is it a perfect system? No, but it does give them some ownership over a life skill that will hopefully serve them well in the future!

    1. This is great - may have to do that one turning them right side out when they're dirty! Def makes more of an impression!!
