Saturday til Monday

We got settled right in at home on Friday afternoon and then Kevin went to pick up Molly Anne.  We are trying to keep some normalcy for her and that's why he stayed home from the hospital on Thursday night.  He went and picked her up that day and bathed and put her to bed and was there the next morning to get her up.  So far she's doing really well with the transition, even on Friday afternoon when Grady was at her house for good haha!

Molly Anne wore this same KK gown....

so naturally I had to do a comparison picture!  Molly Anne on the left and Grady on the right!

Mills has been very tired but it's tiring taking care of two children!

On Sunday we took him to the pediatrician for a well check.  They made us come in no more than two days after being released and our doctor has Sunday appointments so in we went on Mother's Day.  I'm really glad they checked him out thoroughly.  The hospital has changed their procedures and our regular pediatrician's office don't make rounds any more like they did when Molly Anne was born.  They have in house pediatric staff that take care of them at the hospital now then you have to make a pediatrician appointment for after you get released.

He has only gained 0.8 ounces since he was released from the hospital so he has to go back again on Thursday for a weight check.  I'm not worried about it because I know he's getting fed well and a lot but it will be nice when he's back up to birth weight.  He was born at 6 pounds 15 ounces and was 6 pounds 8 ounces when we left the hospital.

My children - plural - yikes!

My parents sent me the most gorgeous flowers for Mother's Day!

Molly Anne made the cutest card at Ms. Beckys!

So Ms. Becky is out of town this week for the first few days so yeah that was interesting timing haha!  Kathryn came over Monday morning and this morning to play with Molly Anne.  Yesterday she went to Kevin's parents house for the day to play and hang with them.  It's been a huge help as I continue to recoup and keep things quiet around here.

Kathryn's Mom stopped by for a few minutes to hold Grady while Kathryn was here.  Lynne has birthed 10 children naturally with no medicine.  Can you believe that?  She's a supermama!

Molly Anne loves her Ka-fran!  They went to the playground and had the best time playing all morning!

Nannie has been a huge help.  I haven't washed a bottle yet!  And she's been serving us every meal and sweeping the floor and taking care of Mills and doing laundry and everything else known to man!

On Monday we had a night nurse come so I could sleep through the night for the first time in 9 months.  It was HEAVENLY!  And I can see how it could become addicting.  Ha!

Because of the sleep, I was incredibly productive yesterday morning and feeling a little more back to myself.  I'm just trying to stay low key and hang around instead of having a party here every day like I did with Molly Anne.  The c-section recovery is different than a regular delivery, that's for sure.  On the other hand, this has been so much easier because at least I know how to take care of a baby!  I'm definitely enjoying this stage a lot more since I'm not stressing about the little things I did with Molly Anne.  Once I can drive again, I'll definitely be back in business.

I stand by what I thought with Molly Anne - first two weeks are the hardest, that's for sure.  But I know there is an end in sight and until then, I'm enjoying every ounce of these newborn cuddles.  He is sooooooooooooo sweet yall!!!!!

Would you all like to see the clothes I've bought for him?!  Yes, boy clothes are cute too and yes, I'm picky times a 1,000 with them!  ;)

Tomorrow - the birth story!

  1. Boy clothes... ahh i have an addiction. And am super picky too! He’s precious and I’m so glad the transition from 1 to 2 has been pretty smooth thus far. I agree with number 2 being easier in the sense that you’re more relaxed and know what to do. I was a hot mess with jack. But with graham I did worry about every single little noise.
