Plant Points and Desk Light

Do any of yall follow Ana Maria Temple on Instagram? She was Molly Anne's first pediatrician but then went to New Zealand to study with her family then came back and opened a concierge practice in Charlotte focused on holistic medicine. I'm probably the least "holistic" person but I do still do a lot of things that she told me in those first years that she still preaches. Organic dairy for the kids, eat plant points and trust your Mama gut. She basically taught me how to be a mom in those early years when I came to Molly Anne's appointments with a list of questions and I will be forever thankful.

Anyway! Point is, she does this plant point challenge in January on her Instagram and the challenge is for each member of your family to get 13 plant points a day. The kids and I have a blast doing this. I get the most, then Grady then Molly Anne. It's basically fruits and veggies and it doesn't matter if you have one bite or 10 bites. Each different fruit or veggie counts as one! Here are some plant points from this morning:
Brussels
Broccoli
Mushrooms
Spinach
Onion

I'll be onto carrots and other stuff at lunch. This isn't something we do in January. It's kind of become a year round thing. We also talk about eating the rainbow a lot because that's a good thing too! Anything to make these kids healthy and not be picky when they grow up!

Desk Lamp:
I'm on the hunt for a desk lamp for Molly Anne's new desk. She has zero light over there in her room and needs something cute but functional. We found these two. One is $189 and one is $49! Any guesses which is which?! We may order the $49 and see what kind of quality it is then go from there!

  3. LOVE the idea of plant points - what a fun way to encourage eating the rainbow (something we are struggling with right now!).
