Bible Study Wine Night

A couple sweet friends have put on two bible studies that I've really enjoyed being a part of.  I'm clearly not one that is good at teaching the bible (but they really are!) but I do know how to have a wine night at our house!  Well sorta, because I really flew by the seat of my pants on this one and threw it together very quickly.

I had a few appetizers but this obviously was the best and so was this Asian Appetizer

Trader Joe's and a little Harris Teeter in there!  I do think those are three of the best cheeses at Trader Joe's although I've had others that I love from there too.

This is how it went down:
Everyone brought one bottle of wine.  They stopped on their way in at my dining room table and put it in a bag and put a number on it.  That way, no one saw who brought what and we were "blind tasting!"

We each had a score card but ended up just ranking the four whites in order of our favorite and the one with the most votes won.  Simple!  We had four white wines and five red wines.  We didn't divide who brought red or white beforehand but I had wines here that we could use to fill in if we had gotten 7 reds and 2 whites.  Know what I mean?

I had a million plastic cups and my friend Lauren helped me get it all together.  Everyone got four cups, labeled 1, 2, 3 or 4, so they could try each wine!  Here's the verdict and the first two came down to who liked Sauv Blanc versus a Chardonnay because they were a tight race!

Red wine tasting happened out on our porch with a fire burning because doesn't red wine taste better like that?!

And my $3.99 bottle from Trader Joe's won this - the Cherry Blossom.  I discovered this wine 2 or 3 years ago and swear by it!  Dark Horse is another one of my favs but that's a whole $7.99!  Haha!

It was a really fun night with a super nice group of girls!

  5. Which Cherry Blossom is it? My old lady eyes (ha!) can't read it - I've gotten the Cherry Blossom Pinot before, but I'm not sure if there's another varietal they make. :)
