Can y'all believe this?

Yesterday I received the first comment below on my blog.  And it made me remember her name and that I thought I had gotten other nasty comments from the same person. So I took about 10 seconds and searched my email and four others popped up.  YALL!  Can you believe a person writes this stuff to another human being?  Honestly, I laughed out loud at the one yesterday and the other four. I have thick enough skin that I really don't care. But I just think it is wrong that someone would take the time and consciousness to write this!!!  And the language is FOUL and disgusting.  So pardon it.

I just think it's important for others to see people doing this.  People wonder why bloggers stop blogging.  And they wonder why some can't handle it and go off the grid.  These comments do nothing to me except make me want to wear shorter shorts and blog more!  Ha!  I'm serious.

Heck with someone like this. Can't believe I'm even taking the time to acknowledge it except to get it out there to others that we should be encouraging and bring people up in life instead of trying to drag them down.  Ain't nobody got time for people like that.

Two final things:
1.  Bless her heart.
2.  I'm thankful for IP addresses.

  3. My biggest pet peeve - people who have to hurt others to make themselves feel superior. How very brave of her.

I think you look great in those shorts, so keep on wearing them. And I also enjoy reading about your sweet family.

  4. Ugh ugh ugh. She clearly didn't learn the "if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all" mantra. Sorry you're experiencing ugliness like this.

  10. Thank you for publicly sharing this! I wish I could share the negative comments I receive too! It is a really unfortunate apart of blogging - seriously, people can be SO cruel when they are sitting behind their computer screens. I love that your'e able to laugh it off - I love following your blog and think you are PERFECT - I hope I have a family like yours one day!!! Keep up the amazing work.

  11. I love reading your blog, love the posts about how you're handling being a mom and working full time. Love the posts on your fashion finds etc. Love the posts on your trips. Love the posts on your sweet dog. Please don't let one bad apple spoil it for the rest of us. Apparently she wasn't taught if you don't have something nice to say, then hush up your face!

  12. I picture this person sitting in a dark room stalking blogs all day because she has no life of her own. A real winner. Bless her heart. xoxo

  13. Sh!t like that is why I stopped blogging -- take shots at me all you want, but when I was getting nasty comments about my family? No @$!*& way. Good for you for keeping that thick skin of yours, your head and feet planted in reality, and your heart supported by Kevin & MA and all the people who care about you!

  14. I'm so sorry!!! That's awful. I love reading and following along and your trip sounds amazing! Have a great weekend!!

  15. I'm so sorry that a stranger feels the need to belittle you. It's really more poisonous to her and her own well being in the long run than it is to you. Hopefully she'll just stop reading (and commenting) and find something else to fill her time besides being rude and petty.

  16. People are just flat out rude! Why do we have to have so much negativity? I'm proud that you have a thick skin because none of those things she said even apply to you! I hope that you have a great weekend and post even more!

  17. I don't comment on blogs but am compelled to do so here. I don't know you but love reading your well-written, fun blog about work, marriage, motherhood, etc. Please don't stop! Best piece of advice ever received (from a lovely Christian woman): "Never ever swap spot with a jackass."

  18. Not only is that behavior cruel and nasty, but it's sad. It's sad that someone would feel so badly about themselves that they tear others down. I believe that if you're a secure person you don't do that type of thing. Don't listen to nastiness, you are beautiful inside and out.

  19. Not a typical blog commenter, but had to: She's got way too much time on her hands. Ain't no one got time for that or her. She's the worst. Good for you for putting this up.
PS: your shorts are fine...as I'm sure you already know. Love the simple/fast recipes you share!

  20. Wow... People are so mean!! Don't listen to a word hateful people have to say. They are just unhappy individuals. I personally love reading your blog! Keep up the good work!

  21. Bless her heart is right! I was about to say your gams looked amaze in that pic on the field - jealous!!!

  22. Oh. My. Goodness. My mouth is literally hanging open reading these horrible things that she wrote!! What is wrong with people?! She probably lives in her parents' basement with wayyyy too much time on her hands. I love you, your blog and your short shorts, girl!! :)

  23. Oh my! I luckily haven't had a lot of hateful comments but man, if you don't care for someone's view, don't read and comment! Jess at Just Jess

  24. I'm just catching up on blogs now and I'm literally sick to my stomach. I'm really sorry that you had to experience this. You, and your family, do not deserve to be treated like that, and it's truly inexcusable behavior....but at the end of the day, you're right - bless her heart And raise your glass. No one has time for that nonsense!

That's the only excuse I can come up with. The poor dear.

  27. I've read your blog for awhile now and always like your fresh approach to things! I had to comment on this; goodness gracious I cannot believe anyone would write such hateful comments. It blows my mind. Good for you for letting this roll off your back - it shows class through and through. Jessica

  28. Someone didn't take their meds. Sad and tacky.

  29. What a horrid person! I'm so glad you did not let her get to you.

  30. I am so disgusted. I am so sorry that Emily has nothing else to do but read about your fabulous life is. You looked fabous yesterday and it was great to see you.

  31. The irony is that Miss "Emily Watson" seems to loathe you and your blog, yet somehow she can't help herself from continuing to read and comment on it! She must have a lot of time on her hands - or the poor thing suffers from a dearth of friends, family, and a life of her own - seeing as how she can dedicate so much time to things she loathes! Bless her blackened old heart, indeed ;) Keep on keeping on, Classic Annie! There are plenty of us who enjoy reading your words and seeing your photos!

  32. Sorry to be late commenting (for some reason this post didn't pop up in my feed). I just want to say that I love reading your blog and hearing about your adventures. I genuinely can't understand why people are so hateful towards you. It makes absolutely no sense. I am glad that you aren't going to let it get you down and thanks for sharing. As a side note, I think you look great and always dress very classic!

  33. Ugh I am so sorry you even had to READ those. The atrocity and lack of manners is disgusting. I, too, have gotten a few really mean comments from various "anonymous" accounts and I think she may have commented on mine too before. It almost led me to stop blogging because I thought, how could someone be that inconsiderate to someone baring their story and taking time to write it out to share? It is so rude. However, I DO think your approach is right. Do NOT stop blogging for her. I didn't either and I never will. That is EXACTLY what they want and a huge slap in the face to her and all other haters is to KEEP going at full speed :) You rock!

  34. I'm sorry you're having to deal with that. It's so easy to be mean to someone when you're hiding behind a computer screen.
I enjoy your blog and I enjoy reading about MA.

  35. Unfreakingbelievable! I'm literally stunned that another human being would behave that way. You're lovely! To HECK with her!

  36. WOW! Keep your head up, lady!!!

  37. That's just ridiculous. I don't even know what to say.

  38. Oh my WORD!! Ugg! You are one of the sweetest, most upbeat and genuine people ever and this person CLEARLY has issues that stem from something deep within herself. I'm so sorry you had to read those ugly, untrue words. And you're right, it's mind-boggling that someone would use their brainspace for such negativity. I let one really ugly comment get under my skin one time and I wish I hadn't. You're one strong cookie to brush this off and keep living your amazing life with your precious family!

  39. Wow -- Just WOW! I cannot believe that people actually take the time to send such hateful words to someone else. It blows my mind that someone would take their time to send that kind of message to someone else. I hate when readers don't know when to just STOP reading when they're not interested anymore. We blog to keep tabs on our life, not to force our opinions, lifestyle, or attitudes on anyone else. We do this for US. Didn't anyone ever tell her "if she doesn't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all?" Major props to you for being so strong! I don't know if I could say that I would have acted the same way!

  40. I'm so sorry that you had to experience this person's rude & hateful comments. You are so awesome and I'm so glad you didn't let this person's hate get you down. And frankly, that person needs to get their eyes checked because you are beautiful!!
