Chris in town!

We had a wonderful weekend with Kevin's Uncle Chris in town from Austin!  Had to show him the way around Charlotte via food and drink so get ready for lots of food pictures haha!

First things first - Friday afternoon cocktail hour.

2nd order of business: taking a cab out to Cajun Queen for dinner.

and it was mighty tasty indeed!

Then we hit up Jackalope Jacks and Philosopher's Stone in the Elizabeth area.   Next we cabbed over to Plaza Midwood and hung on the rooftop of Whiskey Warehouse (LOVE that place), had a drink at Thomas Street Tavern then cruised to The Diamond for some late night chow.  (So bad for us yet so good)

Saturday morning we had a breakfast casserole that I made then we hit the town running.  Chris hadn't checked out Charlotte in almost 30 years so we drove all over showing him the town.  We rode by lots of his old homes where he grew up.

We ended up in NoDa and had a late lunch at Cabo Fish Taco.  We couldn't miss this spot!

We drove around a bit more and headed home to walk around uptown.  We went to Epicentre and had a beverage at Mortimers, then to Connolly's and ended up back at the condo.

We decided to take another cab out to Midwood Smokehouse.  Better known as the best BBQ in Charlotte, hands down.  Whoa.  You must go and take out of towners here.  Even Chris who lives in Austin, Texas said he didn't know BBQ existed like this in Charlotte!

Played a lil cornhole on our way out of dinner.

Then of course we had stop at the ole Beaver for a beer.

We were so full from dinner, we called it a night around 11pm and headed home.  We took Chris to the airport early Sunday morning and Kevin and I lounged around ALL day trying to recover.  It took a 3 hour nap and we hardly ate anything.  We were stuffed from the weekend!

Chris come back to Charlotte soon!  We loved having you!

BTW - the ads at the bottom of your blog always make me crazy! Why are they always for luxury cruises on SeaBourn or Silver Seas and why am I not on one right now??!!!! LOL
