Cowboy Boots

Who wears cowboy boots around here?  Anyone?

I think I've told you all how I can't wear those cute brown flat boots you all wear with your skinny jeans tucked into them.  My legs are too big.  But I will wear some cowboy boots with my straight jeans over them.  Or I wear my Lilly Travel Pants tucked into them.

I wear the boots year round.  I know that's crazy but I wear them for my construction site visits for work.  Who in their right mind wears $380 boots to get muddy?  Yeah I'm not sure why I do either.  I honestly don't know what else to wear!

These are my favorite ones and I currently have them.  I bought them in 2009 right after my bf at the time and I broke up.  Did any of yall do that?  All my college girls - we'd all buy something after a relationship ended.  Every time before these, it was a Longchamp bag.  This time - the real deal - boots!  They were evidently good luck because Kevin and I finally started dating right after this.

My boots before this pair were too brown.  This time I was sure to get Tan so I could wear them with brown and black.

And five years later, my boots are just getting started.  I have had them resoled one time.  They are the most comfortable pair of shoes I own.  I call them Airport Shoes which means they're the best for a lot of walking.

They'll probably last me a few more years at least.  I am thinking a total of 10 years would be good.  Makes the price not as terrible.

Getcha some boots, friends!

  1. I use to do the hair change after every breakup haha. I love boots, but I wear through shoes like it's my job...mine only lasted two seasons.

  2. Too funny!! I bought my first pair of boots that I still wear after a bad breakup in 2009 too. Smart ladies think alike ;).

  4. I always buy something big post breakup. One particular ring I call 'divorce jewelry'.

I was gifted a beautiful brown pair of brown Ariat cowboy boots last October and do I adore them!! Don't wear them too much up north but they are no brainers down south and in CO. Love them! (I share your calf issues, hard time finding cute tall boots!).

  5. Oh my goodness--those boots are beautiful! I totally believe in retail therapy, it's a real thing! Shoes are my downfall, but I won't turn down pretty jewelry, a bag, or clothes, either. Totally worth investing in those boots as they have held up so long. TJ won't be happy to hear about this! ;)

  6. Ha! We have the EXACT same pair! Thomas bought them for me a few years ago for Christmas. I love them and think they're a great investment.

  7. I have a pair of cowboy boots! Have only worn them a few times but I love them. I have huge calves and JCrew extended calf boots fit great. You can sometimes find them on eBay.

  12. I was amazed when I traveled to the south of Brazil and found out that it's pretty much the south of the U.S.A! Might as well be Texas; they've even got their own cowboy boots! Not as stiff as our classic designs, but the similarity is uncanny! Thiago | http://www.brumbysaddlery.com/Lucchese-Cowboy-Boots/
