Quantity versus Quality

I believe there are two types of people in this world:

 - one that has a lot of friends
and
 - one that doesn't have as many.

And you know what?  Both are okay and normal in my opinion!

Maybe you are someone who has 2-3 people that you're really close with and they are really good, quality friends to you.  Maybe you are someone who has 100 people that you're friends with and of those you're closer with a few or maybe you aren't close with any of them but you just know a lot of people.

Whichever you are, more power to ya.  Gotta do what's right for you.

So what kinda gal are you?

  1. Interesting question. I would say I'm both! I've had a group of close girlfriends since elementary school. That's quality. In college I made a lot of additional "quantity" friends too. However, post college, especially living in a different city, my priority is my quality friend group over quantity.

  2. I have been thinking about this a lot lately. In college it was a lot of quantity friends, but when I graduated and we all moved away from one another I kept a few of them as quality friends, but still keep up with the others some. Being in a city and not knowing many people it is so important to have quality friends whether they are near or far!

  4. I have lots of friends and am very close with a lot of them. I have my blogger friends, college friends, childhood friends who I would consider my best friends. My sister is the complete opposite and has 2 or 3 really good friends, she keeps her circle small. So funny how different we are! She once told me I have too many friends, I said not possible :)

  5. Ohhh this is an excellent question!

I believe I'm a quality person - but that being said, I do think I have quite a few close friends for an average person.

I have my "Home Girls" - friends I've been BFFs with since high school, they were all in my wedding, and we just know each other inside and out. We overshare like it's out jobs and we are ok with it.

I've got my college friends - I went to an all-girls college, and was part of a group of 6-9 girls that were really close, we called ourselves the squad, and even though years and hundreds of miles keep us apart - we're still as close as can be when we're together.

And then I've got a nice posse around myself at work - people who've got my back, who danced their feet off at my wedding, and who get me on a daily basis.

So I'm not sure which camp I fall into!

  6. I'm a quality girl....I have a few close friends however once I make a friend, we are friends forever...as in I still keep in touch with my best friends from elementary school through college, as well as from the various places I have lived. I find it harder to make close friends at this stage in my life because my time is consumed with my kids' activities and my job, and I don't have as much time for myself or for cultivating friendships. I think I had more friend when I was a SAHM and my kids were toddlers!

  7. I'd say I'm more of a "quality" girl. I've always had a few very close friends from different aspects of my life, rather than one larger central group of friends. This is really special in a lot of ways, but can sometimes be tough and particularly was in college.
