Menu Wednesday

Here is our quick and easy menu for the week:

Sunday - chicken kabobs and special side salad. See below. I spend more time on dinner for Sunday than any other day because I actually have time on a Sunday! These recipes are from my friend Ashley. She served with pita bread and hummus too!

Monday - Pioneer Woman Meatloaf (that I made on Sunday), smashed red potatoes (bought the steamable bag then smashed and baked with a little cheddar on them, and pears. Saved half of the meatloaf, sliced it and popped it into the freezer for another meal.

Tuesday - Shrimp alfredo with chopped caesar salad - frozen bag of shrimp sauteed then mixed with Rao's alfredo and cooked linguine

Wednesday - Breakfast for dinner - eggs, scrapple or sausage and the kids requested pancakes!

Thursday - BBQ we have leftover in the freezer, (bob evans microwavable) mac n cheese and green beans

Hope this helps get you through your busy week! Don't overcomplicate.

Weekend at Home

On Friday I had to go to Greenville to see a project under construction. We stopped by the Swamp Market and it was so cute. We had the best lunch there.

Friday night we went out to celebrate Kellie's big birthday! First stop was Elsewhere in southend. It's a cool cocktail bar.

We sat on the patio.

Next was Beef and Bottle for dinner. Always good. Then to McKoys, one of their old stomping grounds. It was a super fun night out celebrating!

Saturday morning Molly Anne had swim which she didn't wake up in time for (that's a reoccurring thing for the last year - she's just so tired by Saturday that she needs to sleep in). Grady had his first soccer game and we played CJ's team. CJ is one of Grady's friends from class last year.

We laid low all afternoon then went to dinner at Pacos Tacos. Both Kevin and I had woken up that morning thinking about going there so we were like let's do it.

Afterward we walked into Williams Sonoma and saw some friends! Reagan and Grady are both in Kindergarten.

Reading in bed with Mills too of course! He looks like he is enjoying that book doesn't he?!

Sunday we picked up groceries and Target super early, churched and cleaned up this disasterous playroom. We like to take pictures of special creations before we have to take them down! ;)

I truly am on a mission to reduce the mess of our playroom. They're out of the toddler stuff now. I also think the more they have, the more they have zero clue what they actually have. It's overload!

Thinking of all affected then and now by 09/11/01. I was a sophomore at NC State in golf class when I heard. Still hard to believe.

Five on Friday - Food, Home Goods and Car Line Cuties

ONE - I traveled earlier this week and took an extra 10 minutes to pack my lunch instead of stopping at Chick Fil A. This is when it comes in handy that I try to clean and cut all fruits and veggies on Sunday so I can grab and go!

TWO - I saw these on the Teeter app this week. Kids have enjoyed with sausage and egg on them in the morning. We usually get the plain but this was something different. They're the perfect size for kiddos.

THREE - I flew into homegoods one day while I was in Southpark this week while my lunch was getting ready and saw this set up. Molly Anne's dream - journals, sketch books, planners and fun pens!

FOUR - Car Line Cuties! Grady hops out just like Molly Anne and it's smooth sailing! Happy to go to a happy school!

FIVE - I got these a couple of weeks ago and Kevin and I have loved having them for turkey sandwiches. Our favorite sandwich for the beach is with mayo, red onion, sprouts, spinach, turkey and provolone. YUM!

SIX - one extra - my friend gave these markers to Molly Anne for her birthday with a nice sketch pad and a couple of other things. The cutest gift. Molly Anne has taken them everywhere over the last two months!

HAPPY WEEKENDING!

A fun look and more...

1. This skirt is unlike what I would typically wear but it caught my eye and I'm trying to branch out. I also need some clothes for going out on the weekends. I just like this look, especially if the shirt were not see-through ha.

2. Got these suede leggings in the mail this week. They're so good. I'm in between a Large and XL in these. You know Spanx leggings run small. I'm trying to figure out which to get. My legs are big (and strong sometimes)! PS if these are sold out, add them to your wish list and you'll get notified if they go on sale and when they're back in stock!

3. A simple stud to wear with your hair up (or down).

4. I'm always looking for classic shirts for work that would be cute for other occasions too! This one is cute.

5. This brown is growing on me and I would wear it with a matching color top, black, white or navy. These are my favorite work out leggings for the Fall.

Super Quick Meals

We have a crazy week after school so I needed very fast meals that I could mostly make ahead of time or could get on the table in 10-15 minutes. None of these are rocket science or fancy but here we go:

1. Chicken patty (frozen - from Perdue or Tyson) on a leftover hamburger bun, steamable peas and apple sauce

2. Sheet Pan Chicken Fajitas - I made these last night so they can marinate and so all I have to do is pour the bag onto the sheet pan. The kids will like assembling their own. Anytime I can get them to be involved in making the meal, they eat it better.

3. Shrimp Alfredo and side salad - literally frozen shrimp sautéed, pour Rao's Alfredo sauce in and mix with cooked noodles. My kids are both getting into salads. Grady has liked them for awhile but Molly Anne is getting on the train. I may let them put their own toppings on....see #2 above ;)

4. Crock pot enchiladas - this is a new to me recipe but looked good. Most any Mexican food my kids will eat so we will see. I'll serve with some sort of fruit.

Labor Day Weekend

Whew it was a very fun weekend in Ocean Isle! This weekend it was only our three families that all have houses there so it was kind of quiet but a little rowdy too! We had a great time. It's nice to be with these couples that are fun and good to be around too. I am not saying this right but it's just easy with the 6 of us and the 6 kids. All 6 kids are between the ages 5 and 9 so they're all easier and can do the same stuff mostly.

ANYWAY!

Friday was the last day with my little buddy. I will miss the concept that I don't have to send him to school if I didn't want to. Now he's in it! We had a last lunch at Chopt. He ordered a Caesar salad with a side of avocado and hard boiled egg! He asked if we could sit outside since it was so pretty out. It was cute! We had fun!

We scooted down to OIB and got there just in time for the concert.

I even got to see my friend Suz from college and meet her boyfriend!

Saturday morning - Mills and Grady's "D." It was so cute how he set them up like that.  Saturday morning, Hilary, Ariel and I told the boys that they had to keep the kids while we went for a mimosa and shopping at the Surf Shop. We had a nice little morning walking over there to do that together.

Beach time! Not much wind this week so no Shibumi!

Saturday night we went over to Ariel and Steve's for grouper and shrimp. It was delish! They have the prettiest view!

On Sunday Molly Anne and I ran down to Little River to get a ring she had been talking about for weeks. It's a long story but I'm glad to have gotten that for her. Little things like that mean something to these kiddos as they get older. She knows we don't randomly get her a bunch of gifts like that so this was a big deal to her.

The rest of the day we hung on the beach! These four loved jumping waves and diving through them. Grady was an animal out there...he jumped a ton of huge waves.

Sibling love.

This was so cute - Greer asked Grady to play uno. Did you know Uno had laminated cards that can get wet? perfect for swim team!

Cocktail hour with a gin and tonic at home.

Everyone came to our house for a cookout Sunday night. And fishing. And falling off our dock. And who knows what else! We had a good time though.

Late night watching a movie with popcorn! These kids live the life!

Monday morning kayaking with my little boy.

It was hard for us to leave yesterday. It was so pretty down there and just relaxing. When we finally got on the road, this boy fell right asleep the second I told him to put his tablet down and take a nap!

The traffic was worse than we've ever seen it. Took an hour longer than it should have. We ended up going down I-95 and coming back up through South Carolina. Longer mileage but no stop and go traffic! I like to move!

Mills will only ride in the floor-board in front of the kids seats. He's a nut!

Hope everyone has a good week. I ordered groceries and Target stuff and picked that up last night. I got lunches made, and all fruits/veggies cut and clean. Ready for the grind!
