Under $50 / Stocking For Adults

Here are some stocking ideas for your own stocking, your significant other or parents!

ONE - this looks amazing on your eyelid. My friend Kelly has it and I was like what eye shadow is that!

TWO - the classic toiletry bag for your man. My Dad, brother and Kevin all have this and love it....for years and years.

THREE - my sister in law's parents sent us these for an early Christmas present and it's likely odd how happy they make me! They have this pretty gold stripe going through with the red and green.

FOUR - good for guys or gals.

FIVE - always a good idea to have a nice "winter hat" with the wool on there.

SIX - this bracelet looks so much more expensive than it is. Currently on sale.

SEVEN - a tall boy brumate is required at the pool or beach. Grab yours now so you get the color you want!

EIGHT - $40

NINE - refresh the sock drawer for the guys!

TEN - I love teleties but these are also super nice and do not dent your hair. I use these at night after work and before bed when I'm trying to save my hair for the next day.

ELEVEN - anyone seen these silicone cups at Orvis near the check out line? They're so nice because they are not breakable.

Random Wednesday

Everyone getting into the holiday spirit? It’s a crazy time of year for all!

1. I was telling my mom the other day just how magical it is this year with my kids being ages 4 and 7. They get it. They understand how fun everything is and remember alllll of the things! I want to bottle these ages up because I know it’s going to change soon. They both still want “toys” and not the small expensive stuff. They are just at the perfect age. Every morning it’s soooo fun with Achy the Elf. I’ve had to really put my thinking cap on because they both remember what he did last year! Trying to change it up for them!

2. A simple thank you or compliment can go a long way these days. Children are watching and learning! Hold the door for the person behind you. Molly Anne runs around “filling people’s buckets” as she calls it by giving people compliments. It’s a good thing. That’s her deal that she learned about in first grade from her amazing teacher and it’s so so good. Grady’s thing is to hold and open doors for the ladies. I love it so much and always compliment him on being a gentleman! Makes him do it more! ;)

3. Anyone else feel like they’re going crazy with this class party at this time and this sign up genius for that and this child has to wear this particular thing on this day. Oh yikes does he have dress shoes for this. Allllll of the things that us mamas have to remember and do for this wild world we live in these days. I have lots of lists and things on my calendar to attempt to stay sane.

4. Oh and work. Yeah that.

5. I finished most of my Christmas shopping the first week of November and I will say, it’s made the last couple of weeks much more pleasant. I also decorated a bit slower this year. It wasn’t an overwhelming ahhh I have to get all of this house decor up in a day. It was a gradual week making it happen at nights and it made me so much happier.

6. I need to start planning my week of meals of Christmas. We have Christmas Eve and Christmas Day settled because we always eat the same things. But I need to figure out the other days around there.

7. Does anyone else use the Notes section on your phone? That’s how I do life other than my Outlook calendar. I write a list for everything on there. Keeps my mind right. Christmas list, meal list, to do list, etc and I can look at it any time, including at a stop light. I do lots of thinking as I burn up the streets of Charlotte on a daily basis!

Our Tree

Friday night we got our tree! We ended up getting a 9’ tree and it still looks small in our main room. We have almost 12’ ceilings but I honestly do not love a ginormous tree that is so wide that I can’t walk around it! The shape of this one is beautiful. I think it turned out well and the kiddos had a great time picking it out!

Key to marriage. Put tree stand on the tree outside!

We put the tree stand on a tarp, just in case!

Still need to set up the polar express around it!

Mills watching us!

Festive Weekend

We had a festive little weekend!

Friday night - got our tree. More on that tomorrow.

Saturday - Kevin took Grady to my in-laws to play then to breakfast. Molly Anne went to swim practice and I ran while she did that. We decorated some more of the house. Then we got our Christmas nails done! That evening we had a party at our friends to see the sweetest Santa and Mrs. Claus! It was SO fun! We checked out some lights on the way home.

Sunday - we had Santa brunch and that turned into a long time hanging out at the club. Kids and parents were all happy so we enjoyed a nice time! Had some naps then our neighbors came over to grill out!

Favorite Things Party

Last night we had a small girls night at the neighborhood clubhouse! We did a favorite things party so everyone brought 3 of the same gifts. When it was your turn, we shared why it’s our favorite gift and then we drew three names out of the basket for who received it! We also had these fun cocktails for everyone. Sub vodka for the rum.

A very basic app because I had zero time but they’re semi Christmasy!

Everyone brought an appetizer to share.

Whitney decorated it all super cutely!

I took a bottle of La Marca and a tarte lip rescue!

These are what I went home with! So excited!
