A Good Weekend

We had originally semi planned to go to the beach this weekend but we honestly were like let's just stay here when it was 2pm on Friday. I love that we can do that and understand it's a luxury. Sometimes it's just nice to be home home.

On Friday, Grady had a field trip to Hunter Farm. His first time on a school bus!

After school we got to go to a friend's home and swim in his pool!

That night we headed to our club for a quick and easy dinner. We chilled with Molly Anne that night after Grady fell asleep. She loves that extra parent time!

I played tennis early Saturday then sports! Grady scored a goal again at his game! Whoop whoop!

Molly Anne and I did a bunch of errands on Saturday afternoon. Again, she LOVES that one on one time. We went to a cute shop, Barnes and Noble, Michaels and Sephora. Of course Sips and Dips on the way home. She loved shopping. And especially for books and makeup and crafts. Her ideal day!!

And she got to share some crafts with friends when we got home.

Then the four of us headed to Mexican food for dinner then Hall Family Farm for an evening farm visit. Count this as a bonus of having "older" kiddos that can hang later. It was so nice to knock this out when it wasn't a zoo there!

You don't wear bright red lipstick to a farm that you just got a few hours prior?

We saw some friends of ours there and that was fun.

She grabbed my hand on our way back from the corn maze and I loved it! Didn't know she still wanted to hold hands with her ole mama but who am I to judge?!!!

Sunday morning at the church family fun event. Good times!

Then we hung with friends to watch the panthers lose again!

A fun weekend for sure! Always good times!! Live it up!

Five on Friday - letter, lunch, soccer

Wanted to share a quick recipe that's nothing fancy but took me about 3 minutes to make this week. I'm now at the point of getting recipes from Instagram. I am who I am. This is a chicken and rice casserole and super easy to make in the morning then throw it in the oven while the kids are showering that night.

Dinner continues to be the hardest thing in my little world despite the meal planning, grocery ordering, fruit and veggie cleaning and cutting. It's a lot of work to feed these people that live in our house! Who's with me?! We won't discuss the laundry that just randomly occurs at all hours of the night.

1. Found this letter that she wrote him and tucked into his new book that he picked out from the library this week. I mean cutest ever right?

2. Building a teepee in a Lilly dress. This is what kids should be doing. Playing and creating outside! Not doing hours of homework and competing on every ball field at age 8! I'll stop now.

3. Obsessed with my @heatheropal.art pumpkins! She is so talented!

4. Got to have lunch with both kids this week. Molly Anne LOVES when I come see her for lunch. Like I need to be soaking this up much more. Grady did too. This was my first time for him since he's just now in Kinder. They opened it up this week to allow parents in for lunch and I'm thrilled I got to go so soon. Molly Anne's teacher loved the little break!

5. Grady has been playing Champ soccer at Calvary Church and has really enjoyed it. I must say, it's a great program. They have a little devotional in the middle of their hour long practice each week. Then at their game on Saturdays they have to recite the verse they learned! Little churchy soccer going on! There are worst things! Plus the league is super organized and the practices and games are same day/time every week. Win!

Happy Weekending!

This Week's Finds

1. I'm on a big mission to get my face looking like a normal human again. I just haven't ever spent the time to have my makeup look right and I need to do that now that I'm 40+. I'm taking it step by step (in my SPARE TIME HAHAHA) and trying to do it right. Rehabing my entire makeup routine at once ain't gonna happen!

My look is always natural and never made up and I want to keep it that way. I spent a couple nights recently when I should have been sleeping watching @lindseyreganthorne Instagram videos that she films of her doing her own makeup. Check her highlights called GRWM - Get Ready with Me.

ANYWAY - I bought this Merit blush that she recommended and I really love it. Highly recommend. And the color you like online will be the same one you'd like in the store just FYI. I have Beverly Hills. More to come on my makeup overhaul.

2. A cute black dress that could be dressed up or down and is perfect for any occasion.

3. This sweater is such a pretty color. A classic you'd have for many years.

4. Need some nude work shoes for the Fall/Winter. May pop these flats into my cart. Love the price tag $59 too.

5. This light sweater is cute too. A little different but so fun. One thing I don't have a ton of are "going out clothes" for the Fall/Winter. I need to improve that! This is a fun outfit but I'm not wearing that short of a skirt anywhere - noone wants to see that!

Have a good day!!

The Egg Scramble

I have been very much into making these "Egg scrambles" as I like to call them. It's also called loading as many veggies as possible onto a skillet and adding some olive oil, (sometimes butter), salt and pepper. I saute them until done, then add spinach and 3 eggs. Once it's done I put it on my plate and add some siracha and sometimes feta!

Here are examples of what I use depending on what I have. It's different every time!

 - shaved brussel sprouts
 - broccoli
 - orange and yellow peppers
 - spinach
 - white onion
 - garlic
 - mushrooms
 - 3 eggs
 - siracha
 - feta

Football Game, Soccer, Oktoberfest

We had a fun weekend and hope you did too! Molly Anne cheered at the high school football game on Friday night like she does every year! We got smart this year and had a little tailgate after we dropped our girls off. Thanks Kelly for organizing!

Tyler and Grady hanging on the back of the pick up trucks.

Molly Anne and Greer always have Ava as their cheerleader! She is sooo sweet to them! This year Sadie, Izzy and Paisley joined!

The Moms

Saturday morning early soccer pictures and a game.

The queen of crafts wherever she is!

We came home Molly Anne made pumpkin bread on her own. I always felt like I don't let my kids cook with me enough mainly because I don't want to deal with the mess. Let's just say this - I'm glad I didn't put all of that pressure on myself for years. She picked it right up yesterday and it was super easy and no problem at all. So moral of the story - your children don't have to start cooking with you at age 3 if they want to do it at age 8! She was soooo proud of her pumpkin bread and it was gone in 24 hours!

Grady worked on legos but not long enough. He doesn't have the lego bug like Molly Anne does but maybe one day?

I went over to our neighborhood clubhouse and helped some of my friends set up for the Oktoberfest. It was such a fun time! Possibly too fun! ;)

Sunday we just chilled around the house, got some chores done and regrouped. I did some work and got ready for the week. Here's to a much less chaotic week this week! Fingers crossed.
