An "Us" Easter Weekend

Kevin and I had a very "us" weekend, which we needed before the chaos begins.

I was off Friday and I am again today.   I work for a church-y based company.

On Friday, Mills and I ran errands.  He cracks me up when he hangs out the window.

Oh and on Thursday we went to get our marriage license.  That was cool!

Friday afternoon Kevin closed his office early and we hung out in our backyard.  We let Mills run wild, Kevin made a fire and I sat there with wine and got some sun.  We then decided to get cleaned up and took a cab to Cosmos for a lil sushi then went to Villa Antonio and had a drink and split another entree.  We like progressive dinners.

On Saturday we got some things done and the lady who works for Kevin came over with her husband.  They stayed for a few hours and we enjoyed some wine and lots of conversation.  It was fun!

Saturday night we went to The Palm for dinner.  Kevin got blackened sea bass and I got halibut flown in that day from Alaska.  Delish.

Us at The Palm.

Sunday morning we got up and went to church at Weddington United Methodist for their early service.  It was the perfect way to start our own Easter tradition.  I came home and put our white wedding bow on our mailbox and Mills' white collar on him.

And we opened a bottle of champagne that my cousin gave us when we got engaged.  It's from where they started their marriage.  We felt like it was appropriate to kick off our wedding week with this!

And what else would I do 6 days before our wedding other than host Easter brunch?!  Honestly it was fun for me and a great distraction.

I made deviled eggs for an appetizer, got a honey baked ham, made a fruit salad, hashbrown casserole, egg, sausage and cheese casserole, oyster casserole, asparagus and pineapple casserole.

The whole spread.

I also made Kevin's niece a lil Easter basket and had a plate with her initials made for her to eat off of.  ;)

And we can't forget a bunny cake!  Honestly I tried to replicate what my family usually has for Easter brunch and this was always a staple.

Kevin and I in front of our ugly front door!  One day we'll redo it all...

Mills of course was right in the action.

We had a wonderful Easter brunch with Kevin's parents, his SIL and niece.  His brother had to work.

Hope you all had a great time together too!  I'm ready for my family to get to Charlotte and get this show on the road!!!!!!!!!!!!
