These pictures are from last week. On Wednesday, April 5th, this crane came in and set steel beams! Our house has a bunch a long spans where we didn't want columns or a cased opening in between our kitchen and den and a few other places. We also had a large span in the two car garage with an exercise room over it so one had to go there too. There are probably 6-8 of them throughout the house. I was excited to be there for the 15 minutes that it took to get them into place. These guys are amazing!
The guys took these pictures for me. I wasn't going up there on that balance beam ha!
Pretty cool right? This was a picture from that same day.
Thursday and Friday they went to town on the 2nd floor. First the flooring, then the walls on Friday.
On Friday afternoon when I went by, they let me climb up the ladder to the second floor. It was SO cool to check it out!

Where the theatre room will be. The floor here has to get overbuilt to allow for coffered ceilings in the den below. On Monday they were waiting for the special engineered wood for this.
Jack and Jill Bathroom...
The hole on the right is where the stairs will come up.
By the time this post goes live, they will be working on the 3rd floor and then the roof. By early next week it should be fully under roof. Woohoo! Let the details begin!
This is so fun to watch!! I can't wait to see what it looks like when roofed!
ReplyDeleteSo fun to follow along. I live in Florida so our first floors are all concrete block. It is fun to see another build!
