Santa!

While we were in Pawleys Island, we took the girls to see Santa on Saturday!  We did this last year and thought we would try to make it an annual tradition.  This year he was at the Hammock Shops!  We got there early and the girls played on the playground.

Then...this one spotted Santa.

And she was cool about it.  Interested.

And then tried to run up to him while this family was having his picture taken.  I literally had to go grab her!

But then....not so much.  NOT thrilled.

Mrs. Claus even had to tell her to be quiet hahaha!

Mamaaaaaaaa

At this point, my SIL and I were cracking up at her!  We were like CRY HARDER MOLLY ANNE, WE WANT ONE OF THOSE AWESOME SANTA PICTURES!  Joking...kinda.  ;)

Nooooo Mrs. Claus I do not want a gift from you!

So in the end, there were no real tears.  She just wasn't thrilled to be on Santa's lap.  He was the sweetest Santa though!

Done Mama.  Done.

So, we've seen Santa this year!

Day Trip to Charleston

On Black Friday, we headed down to Charleston for the day to check out the sites!  First, Molly Anne in the bed my Dad made for the girl's American Girl Dolls.
We drove down and it's only about 1.5 hours.

We decided last minute to just valet at the Charleston Place hotel and it was SO easy to do that with all of us in the car.  It was Emily, Emily's Mom, the three girls and me.  Basically a bus full haha!  First we checked out the trains in the lobby.

Then we walked through the market.  Eventually we found the world's best praline's and Molly Anne had a taste of those.  And she was very interested in all of the candy of course!

We walked down to the water.  See the bridge in the background?

Of course she and Sarah had to get in the fountain.

Things you can only do at your Aunt and Uncle's house - color and paint all over the place!

She loved all of Sarah and Anna Kate's toys in their playroom.  I think she likes toys that may be a little older for her versus the baby toys.  I probably need to clean out some of her baby-baby stuff which is sooo sad!

Later that night after the girls were in bed - oysters from McClellanville and some beverages!

Thanksgiving Day

Back in action this week.  Did everyone have a nice Thanksgiving weekend?  We are on day 6 of no heat on the bedroom side of our house so it's been thrilling.  Molly Anne has been sleeping in our living room so she stays warm.  One night last week it didn't get very cool at night so she slept in her room and I let her have a blanket on her for the first time.  I was a nervous wreck but she was fine with it.  I guess we got over that hump but I'm still not going to make it a habit.  We are hoping for the heat to be fixed today or tomorrow.  They had to order a part.  Always something.

So Thanksgiving...

Molly Anne and I headed to Pawleys Island to see my brother, his wife and their girls.  My SIL's parents were also there!  Kevin stayed home with his parents and brother and kept his office open on Friday.

Traveling on Thanksgiving morning is 1,000 times easier than on the biggest travel day of the year - Wednesday before.  Surprisingly there are places open in case you need something when you're on the road.  We had one quick parking lot stop but that was it.  The rest of the trip went okay thanks to a $20 download of Frozen on my iPad that morning before we left.  I'll fill you all in later on my tips with surviving a roadtrip by yourself with a toddler.

We arrived around 11:30am and played for awhile then Molly Anne went down for her usual afternoon nap.

Meanwhile...one turkey was on the big green egg and one was in the oven.  The oven one won this year!

The view from their house is gorgeous.

We ate out on the deck like last year.  It was gorgeous weather and 75 degrees.

Talk about a lucky little turkey.  Check out her view for her first real Thanksgiving dinner!

We ate around 4pm.  She enjoyed alllll of it!  It was actually her second Thanksgiving feast in a week because Ms. Becky did one for the girls last week too.  Ha!

And some chocolate chess pie of course!

MA and Fin.  Mills was at camp!

So that was our Thanksgiving Day.  More recap this week on what we did on the long weekend!

Turkey

We love our little Turkey!  When you asking Molly Anne where the turkey is, she'll point to it and say, "Gob" kinda like Gobble Gobble!  Haha.  Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours!

New Sofas and Out

This past weekend was fun!

On Friday my girl was finally feeling better so after her long nap we went for a walk!

A little sunshine is good for the soul!

We celebrated Kendall's fifth birthday with a cookout that night and she got a new bike!  It was fun getting to watch her peddle for the first time.

After we got home and I put Molly Anne to bed, I went to AR Workshop with some neighbor friends.  We made these cool signs!  Definitely a fun girls night!

This was mine... I'm not artsy at all but Madison the 9th grader that was assigned to help our table was super helpful!

Saturday morning we hit the road super early and went to High Point to Furniture Land South to look for a new sofa.

We ended up on this one but as a regular two cushion sofa, not sectional.  And we are getting two of them.  Then we plan to add a leather recliner and a pretty fabric chair.  I think it'll be great for our new house but we are in desperate need of a new sofa now so that's why we decided to go ahead and do it.  Thank you Mills for ruining our leather sofa.

We decided to go with a slipcover due to the time in our life of having children and Mills.  Want it to be pretty but mostly, practical.  This is the fabric and it's by Sunbrella.

This teal is going to be a couple of the pillows.  Then we headed home.  Two hours each way with Molly Anne plus being strapped in a stroller there wasn't ideal but Finding Dory helped on the way there then we came back during her nap time.  Never a dull moment!

We came back and walked around the corner to play wtih our friends Gigi and Mary Scott!

Then I put Molly Anne to bed and Kevin and I went to Vivace for drinks then Melting Pot for dinner with Benjy and Jessica.

So much food.  But we had a really good time.

Late night when we got home, we had to take a peek at our girl.

Sunday, Molly Anne and I went to Aldi for the first time.

Otherwise, we basically hung around the house all day.  After nap she loved swinging out back.

Bed time routine!  ;)

That's the weekend round up!  Cannot believe Thanksgiving is in two days!
