2. I recently got Molly Anne the only thing I've ever bought her from gap - skinny white jeans! I don't see them online -- I got them in the store. She has never worn jeans in her life - except skinny white jeans last year and skinny white jeans this year! ;)
3. She has been talking up a storm lately and putting sentences together. I'm like HOW ARE YOU GROWING UP SO QUICKLY!?!!! Last week I walked into our den and she was counting the eggs that she uses in her play kitchen. She counted to 10. I was shocked! How do you even know those numbers or words?! Thank you Ms. Becky!
4. I'm still having trouble getting dinner on the table. It's my biggest struggle as a working Mama. If I really have my act together on the weekend, I can usually make them happen but if I don't, then we wing it every night which drives me nuts. You all gave me wonderful suggestions and a crockpot was one of the most talked about ideas. I leave too early in the morning and get back too late at night for that. This weeks meals - all from the freezer. Clean out time!
5. Our house is coming along. The rain has put a hold on things but hopefully the roof is done this week. We are working on four big things this week:
- where to put our swing on the back patio
- finalizing the plumbing fixtures
- deciding on sauna versus steam room versus both versus neither
- tile appointment today
6. Speaking of - check out this local school that is one of the top in the country! Awesome news! Full article is here.
7. On Sunday night I was doing my usual upload pictures to the Blogger app on my phone. The Blogger app had been driving me nuts for a long time now because it crashes when you add any text. It would only let you upload pictures. For every post, I was uploading pictures then having to get on my computer (iPad wouldn't even work!) to type each blog post. Well I decided to search the App Store and I found this app called BlogTouch Pro for $4.99 and it's awesome. It lets you click many pictures at once to upload instead of having to do each individual one. I can't tell you how many years I've uploaded one picture at a time. This is going to be a HUGE timesaver for me. And I can write in the app too and post immediately. Hooray!
I think that's all I've got for now!
I got Lexi those white jeans too, they look so cute on her! Making dinner is my biggest challenge as a working mom... I need to go back and see what people suggested. We are always scrambling or I don't feel like cooking when I get home. The struggle is real!
ReplyDeleteDinner is a challenge for all of us. Haha. Everyone is just exhausted by that point. If you're working you just want to spend the time with your little one that you haven't seen all day and if you're stay-at-home you just want to finally put your feet up and have silence. Haha. The struggle is real for all of us!
ReplyDeleteHow cute are those white jeans! Have you guys tried Blue Apron? We do it for weekday dinners and it's been a lifesaver. So nice coming home and not having to worry about what we're having for dinner or have to meal prep on sunday. I have a free trial, let me know if you want it!
ReplyDeleteI love her little white jeans, and it looks like she loves them too! So exciting about the school near you; having good schools is pretty much the only thing my husband and I concentrated on when choosing our home. It's just so important!
ReplyDeleteDinner is a struggle here too - I get pretty excited when I don't actually have to cook! Those white jeans are precious!! KC is obsessed with jeans - she always points out who is wearing them and will pull them from her drawer before anything else. She just looks a little too grown up in them though!! Looking forward to a full house update!
ReplyDeleteI could never get the timing right on a crockpot...and I never wanted to be prepping dinner in the morning before work! We got an Instant Pot and it's been a game changer! Food quickly so much quicker (like homemade mac and cheese in less than 10 minutes!!!) and I find I'm using more whole ingredients and less processed stuff.
ReplyDeleteDo you have a grill? Heats up fast if yours is propane and easy to clean! Steamer bags of veggies in the microwave and you are ready to in 20 minutes.
ReplyDeleteI love MA's new little jeans!! So stinking cute. I can't believe she never wears jeans! Hahah! I am no help in the dinner department....I don't even work and can't get dinner on the table, like ever, so just know that you're not alone and at least you try!! :) And I might need that blogging app...then maybe I would post more!! ;) Thanks for sharing!!!
ReplyDeleteThose white jeans are amazing! And before I say anything, I think the fact that you are feeding your family food is enough! You must be exhausted by the time you get home from
ReplyDeleteWork, get MA, walk Mills....then to start dinner? I'm tired thinking about it.
But - what you could do, is maybe do a bunch of dinners on a rainy weekend (we are about to have one of those and so we're going to be doing this on Saturday), and freeze them. My favorites to freeze are chicken pot pies, enchiladas, chili, and a few easy casseroles. Frozen meals....but homemade!
