Week 35 Pregnancy Journal

How far along?  35 weeks, due July 3rd!  WHOAAAAAAAA.  I need to get my act together and actually figure out how Kevin and I will be PARENTS in 5 weeks.  Holy moley.  I still don't think it's real for some odd reason!!!

Size of Baby: Honeydew Melon - over 18" long and 5 1/4 pounds.

Gender: I have no idea!  But we'll be finding out SOON!

Weight Gain: I'm going to change this to how the doc says I'm measuring and he says I'm measuring perfectly so not to listen to people that keep saying how small I am.  People judge.  Majorly.  And I'm tired of hearing people's opinions on how big I'm going to get in the next 5 weeks and how I am small and how etc etc.....!  I was in the bathroom at a restaurant the other day and this woman was like, "wow you're really small, are you sure you're 34 weeks pregnant?"  NO, I MADE IT UP WOMAN!!!!  Mind your own biz!!!

Maternity Clothes:  Pretty much regular clothes.  The dress I wore for the wedding last week was regular.  I don't know about wearing one of my pencil skirts at the moment.  I did wear one last week so that was good.

Nursery:  Nothing has changed since last week.  I need to do one more load of Dreft laundry which I'm hoping to do tonight.  And I need to pack a baby bag and a mama bag.  We also need to get the car seat installed.  I called and talked to a Safe Kids thing I found on the internet yesterday and she told me all of the places around us that install the car seats properly.  Works out that she is having someone from the police department come do it for us...so nice!

And on to less important things but still fun things....I told Mom I needed to have bows made for our mailbox and she went and had them done for me yesterday.  Like as in they were done within two hours of me mentioning it to her.  SO nice of her and one less thing I have to do.  She also has a pink one she used when I was born so she had another blue one made for their mailbox.  They'll have a neighbor put the appropriate color on when we know!  And since my parents will be here, they'll put the right one on our mailbox! ;)  This is kinda like our wedding...we put that big white bow up there during our wedding week!

Movement: Maybe a little less these days?  Baby running out of room?

Symptoms:  I think the chiropractor may be helping my ribs so thank you Alisa and McGee for making me do this!!!

Sleep: I am up a couple times a night in the bathroom but switching from side to side has hurt this week.  Ugh I shall survive.  Kevin has been making comments about my moaning and groaning haha.  I promise I'm not an old lady!

Cravings:  Everything I can't have on this diet.  Though I did have strawberries this week and those were AMAZING.

What I Miss:  I'd like to feel like myself.  I will say I'm glad to still be able to be functional during the day.  I still walk Mills at nights.  I don't have any swelling.  I am thankful to go hard at work and still come home and have energy to get other things done.  But I am in bed by 9pm.

Best Moment This Week:  The doctor's appointment last Friday was good.  All is perfect.  I asked him if he thought I'd see them at the 36 week appointment and he said definitely.  So we shall see!  I just feel like it could happen any time now though I hope he/she hangs where they are for a few more weeks!

Looking Forward to:  Getting my last three things done - 1.  Load of Dreft laundry.  2.  Car seat installed.  3.  Bags packed.

  1. I love all of your pregnancy updates. I'm sorry people are being so judgey with you -- I'm sure that got old very quickly! Not too long now before they'll all be jealous of how you bounced back to your pre-baby body so quickly!

  2. people seem to judge in general with pregnant ladies - sad. No one really needs to hear everyone's opinion. You are blessed not to have gotten so big:)

  3. Definitely one of my top worries about getting pregnant someday is the way that people are SHAMEFULLY rude and over the line with pregnant people. I have a sharp tongue and I know that I will have choice words for anyone, but then of course, *I* will look like the rude person, not them for making awful comments.

Your doctor says you are doing just great? Screw what anyone else says.

  9. I delivered my first at 37 weeks and wish I had packed a bag and installed the carseat, etc- WAY AHEAD OF TIME. I just completely believed my little man would be on time or late, like his parents are habitually. It will take such a load off your mind to have everything ready if you go into one of your weekly appointments and have your dr say "its go time, like right now." Good luck-it will be awesome;)

  12. Love those bows that your mom pulled together for you. :) I'm glad that everything is going okay, but I'm sorry people are saying things to you. You are looking great and your baby is growing well! I'm 20 weeks and I took the weight gain question off my weekly recaps. I've always been sensitive about my weight, and quite frankly I think it's no one's business.

  13. Holy cow...5 weeks is SO soon! I think I am still feeling like July is in the distance, but it's really super close! Love the bows and am dying to know pink or blue!

  15. Screw rude people. I've started getting comments too about how small my bump is and how big I'm going to get and I just don't want to hear it. I can't believe how close you are!! I'm so envious!! I'm kind of thinking boy for you guys now. What are you leaning towards?

  16. Remind me to tell you the story of when I was at a clients' office & a patron of theirs asked how many babies I had "in there". It was a pregnancy low for me.
