We aren't doing save the dates.
Don't hate me.
I just don't see the point.
But that's just my opinion.
If someone is important enough that you want them at your wedding, I think they'll already know when it is. Otherwise, they'll receive an invitation 6-8 weeks in advance....that's still plenty of time. If they couldn't come with 6 weeks notice, they probably couldn't come with 6 months notice.
Obviously if we were doing a destination wedding, my opinion would be different.
And I promise I've loved all of your save the dates and respect the fact that you may have sent them out!!! I just don't think I need to do them. :)
We didn't do them either, and people still showed up :)
ReplyDeleteOne of my regrets was doing Save the Dates...6 months later I wasn't so sure I would have invited all of those same people to the wedding (co-workers). haha
ReplyDeleteI agree with you! I think they are pretty pointless...
ReplyDeleteCompletely agree. I think they are a waste of money and did not do them either. They are a new trend that has caught on, but is not necessary.
ReplyDeleteSadly, my calendar is usually booked 4 months + in advance :( Seriously. I think I just have problem with being on too many boards, and having too many cocktial parties. BUT...I would probably attempt to move things around if a wedding invite for someone I cared dearly for arrived after I already had something scheduled. Because afterall...weddings are my fave :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not doing them either! I feel the exact same way about them as you do. My only thing is our wedding is August 4, and I don't know if people may need a heads up before scheduling summer vacations.
ReplyDeleteWe only did save the dates because we got married on Memorial Day weekend, and my photographer did them for free, so we only had to pay postage. Def save the $ for something else fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI agree completely! Great way to save money. I do adore how they look, though. ;)
ReplyDeleteI love these save the dates! Where did you find them?
ReplyDeletexoxo.
I totally agree! We felt the exact same way and didn't send them either. The truly important guests will come regardless.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a great weekend!
