NYE

Well hello to everyone and happy 2017!  Glad to be back for another year of the ole blog!  I have a few posts coming up this week and next.  I'm planning to do a little last week recap, Molly Anne's year and a half birthday is Wednesday and I am going to do a reintroduction of muah!

Today is all about how we celebrated New Years Eve!

I tried to get a babysitter back in November but Kathryn and a couple others were going out for NYE!  Don't blame them!  So Brad and Shauna were kind enough to come join us at our home for dinner instead!

One of our contractors from work sent me these awesome filets which we had for dinner on the 23rd and then again for NYE!  Eight 8 ounce filets..so nice right?!  This was the perfect occasion to use the other four!

Just cracked salt and pepper on them.

Meat and cheese platter...

Lots of shrimp...I had gotten a pound and Brad and Shauna brought two pounds!  They were SO good!  We also had another brie appetizer that they brought which I didn't get a picture of.  It was the one from Fresh Market...highly recommend!

The table all ready minus wine being poured and candles lit.  I tried haha.

Only another month before sweet Sarah arrives!  Doesn't Shauna look amazing?!

KG in the house!

Molly Anne was obviously asleep at this point.  We ate around 8:30pm.

The boys grilled the steaks and Shauna and I did the salads, asparagus and baked potatoes.  The goal was EASY and we accomplished that.  The asparagus I just threw some salt and pepper on and roasted at 375 for 20 minutes.  After it came out my friend Sarah had told me to toss them in lemon juice and fresh Parmesan on the stove top.  So good!  For salads we just did mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, feta and pine nuts with a creamy balsamic dressing.

The boys cleaned up and then we all hung out in the den watching all of the NYE coverage.  How about Mariah's technical difficulties?!  Crazy.

Anyone had the Patron xo cafe liqueur?  It was pretty tasty and a good night cap.

Love hanging out with these two.  Brad and Kevin grew up together!  You know those couples that the guys like hanging out and the girls like hanging out and the four of you like to hang out?!  Yep, that's Brad and Shauna for us!

The next morning this little queenie was saying, "Ho Ho Hoooooo" on the monitor so that was a wonderful wake up call to 2017!  Thanks Poppa for teaching her that! ;)

Cheers to 2017!  May it be a wonderful year for you all full of health and happiness!
