Five on Friday - Charlotte, Artwork, Golf, 15 month

1.  Charlotte - what's going on in Charlotte right now is incredibly embarrassing and has got to stop.  I don't care if you're green, black, white, purple or orange, it is completely unacceptable to throw tables through glass windows of businesses, break into businesses to steal and act like complete fools.  Unbelievable.  Huge shout out to CMPD.  Thank you.

2.  In lighter news, some of Molly Anne's pieces of artwork!  A couple weeks ago, Ms. Becky did a week of learning about apples!  They made apple sauce, read books about apples, made an apple tree and I'm sure did other fun things I don't know about.  Molly Anne is so cute when she tries to say, "apple!"

3.  I was in Pittsburgh this week for a charity golf tournament that one of our clients put on.  It was too much fun!

4.  Sleeping beauty.

5. Yesterday we had Molly Anne's 15 month check up!  She's 50th percentile across the board except for height which is 75th percentile. When you put it all together her BMI is 50%!  22 pounds, 8 ounces, 31"!

Looking forward to a good weekend. Sorry that's all I've got today!

Being A Mama

Once upon a time I had (and still do!) a friend named April. Most of you know her from her blog, A.Liz Adventures. She and I were friends before blogging but we've become much better friends over the last few years.

This time last year, she had recently stopped working in the corporate world and started staying home with Camille (and now Charlotte).   I was wrapping up my 12 weeks of maternity leave.  She, Sarah and I hung out often with the three girls and it was so much fun.  One of the times we were together, we talked about working versus not, etc.  She had worked during Camille's first year of life so she knew what both working and not working was like.

She told me to work the first year while they aren't as interactive and then if you're going to start staying at home, do it after they turn one.  I had no clue what she was talking about at the time because I wasn't in that stage then, but now - I totally get it.  She's so right.

Don't get too crazy, I'm not going to quit working.  It's just that the last few weeks, every day I'm itching to go pick her up!  Well I always have been excited to go get her, but lately I cannot get enough of my Molly Anne.  She's my best sidekick and she is doing so many new fun things that I love to be there for!

I'm sure this is another phase of this thing called "being a mama" but I am really loving this age.  She's crazy and all over the place but it's so much fun.   And I hear it keeps getting better!

Zac Brown Band

Last Thursday night we went to the Zac Brown Band concert!  We did a little tailgating in the parking lot....

Then walked into where our seats were. Amazing tickets, thanks Zac.

And I kept saying this that night but if you know me, you know I love Luke Bryan.  He is cute, fun and all over the stage.  Zac Brown Band is different. They are musicians.  I'm talking amazing musicians.  Every person in is band is incredibly talented.  They stand up there and care more about playing music than running all over the stage.  I like both types of concerts but this was just really good.

Then we saw Hoda at the beer stand and my friend Nina's life was made.  Haha!

Such a fun night!  Thanks girls!

Weekend - Festivals, Charity Event and Clothes Swap

As usual, we didn't do much on Friday night.  We ended up going to Bad Daddy's for dinner then driving by our lot.  By the time I get to Friday, I'm just happy to be there so we usually keep things low key.

Saturday Molly Anne and I had a big day.  We came upon the DogFest going on at Blakeney so we took a spin around there.  Then we went to Target and Home Goods...I found a silver frame at Home Goods for her Dubose picture which I hope to be showing you all that one and the bigger picture very soon.

We zipped by the house, Kevin was at work then we went to the Weddington Town Fair and it was so so cute.  Very small town feeling!

Sarah, Mike, Gigi and Mary Scott met us over there!  The petting zoo was the highlight!

No, Molly Anne it isn't Mills.

She thought this lamb was definitely a Mills.  No you cannot tackle it and hug all over him.

She was not into baby duck!!  She did pet him but we skipped her nap that morning so she was a bit over life at this point.

Nap then pool!  We went on the waterslide and she LOVED it.  It's pretty slow so perfect for us!

Saturday evening we played and Brad and Shauna came over.  She finally is starting to stick those shapes in the right holes!  So cute.  I love watching her figuring stuff like that out.  Sometimes I just sit and watch and let her play on her own.

Kathryn came over to watch Molly Anne and Brad, Shauna, Kevin and I went to this.  We helped sponsor the event so we got four tickets to go!

Our friend Keith in the white helped put the event on.  It was for premature babies and it was on the rooftop of the Epicentre uptown.  We ended up seeing a bunch of other people we knew.  Charlotte is really small sometimes!

Good times!

Sunday morning chillin.  Mills always has to be where Molly Anne is!  Midday Kevin hung with Molly Anne and I swapped all of her clothes out.  I took everything that is too small and too summery out of her drawers and closet.  Let's just say this - she doesn't have very many clothes any more.  Her closet is bare.  Am I the only one that has a really hard time saying goodbye to her clothes?  It is probably because I know they might never be used again.  Boooo.  I do keep them stored in big bins up in the attic and labeled by size.  Maybe just maybe they'll be pulled out one day?!!

After her afternoon nap, we headed back to the pool for our final time!  Sad to see our pool days end.  We saw a friend from her music class while we were there yesterday so that's fun that they live in our new neighborhood too.  Isn't that playground splash pad unreal?!

We grilled out for dinner last night and hit the bed early.  Happy Monday friends!  Busy week this week!

Five on Friday - Halloween, Burrito Bowl Recipe

It's Fridayyyyy!!!  I'm barely alive today after an amazingggg Zac Brown Band concert last night.  They are so so so good.  I will recap it next week.

1.  Halloween.  I'm extra excited for Holidays this year because I think Molly Anne is going to think they're so fun.  Starting off first with Halloween - she is going to be Baby Duck of course and yall, I got this costume in the mail on Sunday, she is obsessed!  This isn't her in the pic (obvi) but I tried it on her the other night and now she likes to cuddle with it.  I'll save the pics of her in it for Halloween!  I had looked on Pottery Barn Kids and those costumes are SO expensive but I thought this was just perfect.  Also instead of a PBK Halloween plate, I got her one at Target in the dollar aisle.  Now I just need to find her a little treat bag.  I'm on the hunt starting at HomeGoods first.

2.  Someone asked what brand those new Fall clothes were that I got Molly Anne.  They're mostly Baby Luigi/Luigi Kids and also a couple Bella Bliss things.  Also, sorry I couldn't reply to your comment...when your email isn't hooked up to your account, I have no way to contact you.  Please either follow this guide or leave me your email address in the comment and I'm happy to answer any questions!

3.  This is an easy burrito bowl recipe and honestly took me no time to make a somewhat healthy dinner.  Just layer all of this in a bowl.  That's rotisserie chicken in the container which I had taken off the bone the night before when Molly Anne went to bed.

Molly Anne's deconstructed burrito bowl!

4.  A couple nights ago I ended up having to bathe Molly Anne early because we had been outside and she was a mess.  It was the first time in her entire life that she was not on her usual routine of bath, milk (or water), bed, and in that order.  She had a bath then playtime before bed.  And guess what?  She fell right asleep!  I was excited about that.

She loves Mills an unbelievable amount.  The love between the two of them is so adorable.  She just climbs on top of him and pretends he's a real life stuffed animal.  So cute.

running buddy!  Every Thursday morning we get up and go run around our neighborhood.  It's become our little thing and we both love it.  She likes to point at the birds and trees.  It's the sweetest.

5.  Piggies for school today.  Today is Ms. Becky's birthday so it will be a fun day!

Happy Weekend!!!!
