Kitchen and Laundry Products

Okay yall are going to think I'm weird.  But that's okay, I probably am.  I mean, aren't we all in our own little ways?

So I'm big on using the same products that my parents used growing up and it hasn't ever stopped.  I don't care what's on sale, I still buy the same things and stock up when I do see a good deal.

Dawn cuts grease like no other.  Period.

Cascade for the dishwasher and recently I started using the little packets - SO much easier than the below.

This is the biggest thing that I'm a stickler on....Bounty paper towels.  My friends, when I was in grade school and we had science fair, I did one of my projects on the absorbency of paper towels.  Bounty wins, no questions.

Tide laundry detergent...essential.  Don't mess up a good thing!

Did you all ever feel like other people have a smell (like their laundry)?  You know what I'm talking about!  The Tide/Bounce combo is what I've always been used to and what I'll always use.
And I had never met ANYONE that used this exact combo until I met.........Kevin.  How funny is that?!  Super random and I can't believe I'm even writing about something so tacky but it's hilarious!

Weekend - RHCC, Airband and Pool

We had a perfect little weekend.  We went to Kevin's parents club on Friday night with them for the seafood buffet and took a walk around the golf course area afterwards.  Look at these gorgeous pansies!

We were standing in the front chatting when Kevin met a friend named Hugh and they played with his remote control car.  SO cute!  :)

On Saturday we went up to the University area and hung out in the afternoon.  We went to the sorority and fraternity dance competition called Airband that night.  I think I've mentioned it before but I'm an advisor for Chi Omega so we went to support them!  They go ALL OUT on the whole production - costumes, choreography, everything.  Their theme was Jumanji and they ended up getting 3rd - totally robbed.  They deserved 1st by far and I even saw 3 of the other performances!!!  Who knows what happened!

On Sunday we ran some errands then Kevin's bro and SIL came up to hang out with us.  Us girls layed by the pool and eventually got in too.  It was warm!  Then we grilled out with our neighbors.  Perfect Sunday.

Enclosure Cards

Hope yall had a fantastic weekend!  We did and I will share more about it tomorrow.  Traveling again for work today through Wednesday to Maryland.  Ahh!

Do yall use gift enclosure cards for wedding and baby showers or housewarming gifts?
My mom taught me about these awhile back and I've loved having the personalized cards.  Currently I have the ones above with the monogram but my cards are white with the gold lettering.  I love them.  Previously I've had ivory ones with a shell and my full name and before that I had white ones with a pink shell and my full name.

They are nice cards and save you from buying individual cards for each occasion (which as you know, can add up price wise).  I'd rather spend the extra money on a gift instead.

I get mine from American Stationery and the link for the above is here if you'd like to check them out!

Alive After Five - Liquid Pleasure

Last night was the first Alive After Five in Charlotte of the year!  Basically all the young professionals (and some older) come out to a big open area below one of the Wachovia towers uptown and listen to a band and have a couple drinks.  It starts right after work and goes until about 9:30pm.  It's always a good time.

Last night Liquid Pleasure played.  They are a great band that plays a little of everything - beach music, rock, motown, top 40 - they did it.

The place is packed (which it's hard to see from these pictures) and is definitely a place to see and be seen, haha!  Kevin and I love going because we always end up seeing some friends there that we haven't seen in awhile.  Last night Lauren came to my condo then we met up with some neighbors, our friend Emily and some of Kevin's Bank of America guys and walked over together.  My friends Barrett, Talia and Barrett's hubby were there too!
It was a perfect Carolina night - clear skies, mid 70's and lots of beach music!

Tonight we are going to Kevin's parents club with them for a seafood night!  We're looking forward to it!  Do you all have any fun plans this weekend?

Blog Sale - Sam Edelman and Happy, Happy

These are the Sam Edleman Calypso ballet flats in size 8.5.  I bought them in November but only wore them one time.  They retail for $99.

There is a little black bow on the front near the black patent (you can see if you look really closely).  They are in great shape and just need a new home!
I'm asking $75 shipped or best offer!  Shoot me an email - anniesadventures16 at gmail.com.

And a HUGE Happy Birthday to my Dad who isn't a day over 50 today!  ;)

He had a lil knee surgery last Friday so he is as good as new!  Happy Birthday Dad!!!

I'm on the road again today so please forgive me, I'll eventually catch up on your blogs!

W&S Pink Grapefruit Lotion and Soap

Yall go run to your nearest Williams-Sonoma and get this Pink Grapefruit hand soap and lotion.  It is the most amazing soap/lotion combo ever.  My parents had it and they asked me to get them the soap refill.  I picked up some as well and oh my goodness, I cannot use the plain ole Dial any more!!!  (okay, I must admit, I still do use Dial because I can't afford to stock this stuff for each of my obsessive hand washes!)

The soap makes any dirty hands smell MUCH better and cuts grease well (so you don't have to pour Dawn on your hands) and the lotion is actually really moisturizing!!!

Now yes the price tag is a little much for soap but it's a treat and something nice to have on your counter!  ...if that's a way to justify it, haha!

PS - this could be a fun Mother's Day present!  ;)
