Egg Hunts & Allergic

Thank you for your sweet comments yesterday.  I'm trying to stay positive and I'm looking forward to a little Easter break.

Let's talk about something fun....

Saturday morning with my girl.  She loves scrapple as much as I do!  Maryland girl at heart!

She loves the Easter bunny when she can look at him but not have to touch him.  She yells HOP!  HOP!

Saturday morning we went to our neighborhood egg hunt!

She loved hunting those eggs and running around everywhere!  She even had a donut as a special treat!

Molly Anne and Addison.  They are almost a year apart.

My friend's high school son Logan was the EB!  Molly Anne wasn't too pleased but how great is this picture?!!  I'm awful, I know.

2016 versus 2017!

After nap, we all went outside and hung out for almost 4 hours!  It was SO good to be outside as I feel like we've all been cooped up for so long.  Molly Anne downed the cheese and meat tray!  She loved that!

Our next door neighbor came over to play with Molly Anne.  He always asks if he can come over and it's so cute.  Molly Anne kept saying, "heeeeeey luka!"  Kevin did not like the she was talking to him all sweet.  Oh my...!!!

Sunday morning after I gave her her amoxicillin for her ear infection, I noticed about an hour later that she had red bumps all over her.  I gave her benadryl immediately and we zipped to the urgent care to wait for them to open at 10.  We had plans to go to church...as in Kevin and I were both dressed, I was literally taking her pajamas off and putting her dress on when I noticed them.  Poor baby.  They went down immediately with the benadryl so that was good.  Doc said it was in fact an allergic reaction and that she is now allergic to amoxicillin.

But the worst part is - she had been on it for 7.5 days and it hadn't touched her poor ears.  They still looked awful so we had to start a new medicine.  So frustrating.  Now she is on omnicef and I just really hope this helps because we are flying soon and I just hate that she is having to deal with this.

Anyway, yesterday morning when she woke up, she was covered again so I took her to her regular doctor.  I know the rash will last for several days and even up to 4 weeks but I wanted to be sure that was exactly what it was.  The urgent care was fabulous but I didn't think they took a good look at her.  Basically, she is living on benadryl for the time being.  Bless her little heart.

After the urgent care escapade, we went home, took it easy then got ready for another egg hunt!  Molly Anne was not affected by the rash at all and I knew it wasn't contagious so we went.  I don't know if that was the right decision but she barely had any bumps at this point and I knew she would have a good time.  So, we did it and I'm so glad because we had a blast!

How about this adorable magic show?!

Hey sweet Gigi!!!!!

See Molly Anne there in the middle, pulling her dress up?!!  She's very shy, can't you tell?!

With my Mary Scott and Molly Anne.  Or Mary Anne or Molly Scott or whoever! ;)  We call them the wrong names all of the time!

Hunting time!

Three little girls!

Molly Anne wore Gigi's dress that Gigi wore last Easter!  I love that they are exactly one year and one day apart in age!

The rest of Sunday was spent like this.  Molly Anne has become obsessed with this Wheels on the Bus video on YouTube.  Sadly she can take my phone or "Mommy's iPad" and get it on without any help.  Yikes!

We had an easy dinner last night of pre-made burgers from teeter that Kevin grilled and some broccoli.  Hope everyone is having a good week!

Real Life

Excuse me for the day, I'm in mental breakdown mode.  I was last week too.  I'm SO TIRED OF EVERYONE (including me) IN MY HOUSE BEING SICK!!!!!!!!!!!!  Dealing with an allergic reaction to Amoxicillin and a hurt back right now.....I'm about 90% better thank goodness because Mamas don't have time to be sick.   Can I get an Amen?  Hopefully will be back tomorrow.

Five on Friday - Anniversary, Birthday

ONE:
One huge perk of going to Ogden, Utah to tour the market for work?  They have Lilly Pulitzer Swell bottles.  Well, one left and you all know I grabbed it.  I had gone to a couple Starbucks near me the morning they were released and they were sold out within five minutes.  Go to Utah a couple months later and ta-da!

TWO:
Speaking of Utah, I flew there on Tuesday morning early, toured all day, went to the Jazz game with clients then went to the airport and flew back on the midnight flight.  Long 24 hours but worth it to see my baby when she woke up!

THREE:
Speaking of....she was having a great time with Ms. Becky.  They colored and dyed Easter eggs this week!

FOUR:
As you know, our anniversary was yesterday.  We are practicing the "in sickness and in health" part of our vows.  I've been a sick puppy this week and pulling the all nighter on Tuesday certainly didn't help.  Kevin still isn't 100% either.  Molly Anne is feeling much better from her double ear infection.

Yesterday morning we celebrated 4 years by the three of us going to breakfast at a new place near our house.  Molly Anne loved the pancake ;).  Kevin and I weren't doing gifts because of the house etc. but he completely surprised me with Chris Stapleton tickets!  I am so excited!  It was a super fun surprise because I really didn't expect anything.  He also put together a frame of pictures of Molly Anne and I which was cute but kinda funny.  We had our standard anniversary dinner of Basil Thai and we got it take out.  We've had Basil for our anniversary dinner for 8 years and counting (it was our first date place!).

FIVE:
Happy Birthday to my Dad!  Today is his big day.  We can't wait to see you VERY soon!!!! (look at baby Molly Anne!)

Four Years!

Today is our four year anniversary!  On Monday it was our eight year anniversary of dating.  Crazy!

I love Kevin more today than the day we got married.  We've had tough days and even months but I still get excited when his car pulls up after work!  He's my main squeeze, my favorite person, hilarious husband, sweet daddy to our Molly Anne and my best friend.  He can read me like a book, he works hard for our family and is honest as the day is long.

We aren't exchanging gifts this year, only cards which are always better anyway!  The four year traditional gift is fruit/flowers and the modern gift is appliances.  Well there ya go, we are buying landscaping and appliances for our new house!  Haha!  Real life!

First Egg Hunt!

Our new neighborhood had their egg hunt on Saturday and it was also Molly Anne's first time hunting for eggs.  Last year she was a tad too young! ;)

Here she is all ready to go!

See how good her hair looks from her little hair cut that morning?

Not impressed with the Easter Bunny who happened to be one of Kevin's buddies from elementary school.

The first part we were all in the clubhouse and they had lots of balloons and a little craft station for the children.

Her buddy Emmerson was there!

These were the cutest little bunny hats!

Then everyone went outside for the egg hunt.  Molly Anne wasted no time.  She didn't understand the holding her basket and putting them in at the same time.  But she still collected about a dozen eggs!

Sweet girl.

They all played on the playground equipment then they had pizza delivered for everyone.

Smocked dress + pizza = Molly Anne's dream day haha

On Sunday she picked up my camera and said cheese so I whipped it open and snapped this cute picture!  My friend Mallory commented on Instagram that she looked just like my Mom and I couldn't agree more!

That morning we went to a new park and played with Gigi and Mary Scott.  Molly Anne and Gigi played so well and really were super cute together.

Afternoon nap time run to pick up groceries with my buddy.  Head out the sunroof duh.

It was a busy but fun weekend!

Molly Anne is 21 months!

Eventually I'll stop doing these updates and I haven't been very regular since she turned 1 but it's fun to check in every few months on what's up with our little Molly Anne.  She is the sweetest and we love her dearly.  Here are some things she's up to!

1.  She is almost 26 pounds, probably a little under.  She was 26 pounds, 6 ounces with her clothes and shoes on last week.  Not sure how tall she is and won't know until I get a tape measure out or go to her two year appointment in July!  I think she's probably still on her 50th percentile in every category track!  She wears 18-24 month clothes but she's really starting to only wear 2T pajamas and all of her summer clothes are 2T.  She wore a shirt last week that was probably too short but I don't want to buy long sleeve 2T clothes at this point.  Just kinda silly.  All of her pants and shirts for the winter and early spring are 18m and that's been fine.  Size 4.5 shoe - tiny little thing!

2.  Talking is constant and doesn't stop until she's asleep.  She is putting multiple words together.  The other night she said, "I love you too Daddy" which was pretty impressive.  Mostly it's just 2 and 3 words together.  She's starting to get the hang of sentences.  She will tell you what anything and everything is and will repeat anything you tell her to say.  Sometimes she says things and I'm like how do you know what that is?!!  My favorite thing she says is, "I wuv you Mama!"  And when I hand her something and she says, "thank you mommy" unprompted.  Love that sweet girl.

3.  When we sit at the table for dinner she will fold her hands in front of her mouth and wait for us to say grace.  Then at the end says Aaaaaa-men.  Another little funny story - we were at our new office on Sunday unpacking my office and we all joined in the kitchen while the owner prayed before dinner and in the middle of the prayer Molly Anne yelled, "A-MEN, A-MEN, A-MEN!!!"  It was so funny.

4.  Now that she finally walks, I really think life has gotten easier.  I know most moms don't agree but when you carry your child around for 16 months plus, you're glad when they can walk.  And honestly I know Molly Anne likes it because she can play on a playground now, go down the slide and do all of that by herself.  She loves to explore.

5.  She likes most anything you give her to do or show her.  She's pretty much entertained by everything.  Becky says the same thing.  Molly Anne likes it all she says.  Becky also says that if you show her how to do something once, then she knows how to do it.  She's a quick learner evidently.  For some reason she still will run even when I tell her not to.  I guess she already has selective hearing?!  Ha!

6.  I feel like this month we (meaning I) have had to get strict on her about some things so she understands when things aren't safe to do.  Kevin will too but I'm the enforcer in the house he says.  No Molly Anne, you cannot stand up in your high chair or play near the stove or touch the fireplace.  And she can tell when I really mean it or not.  Yikes.

7.  She has pretty much mastered stairs.  We do have a second floor in our house but the stairs are behind a door so she hasn't had to do them except in and out of our house.  I really needed her to learn because she has opened the door once and I want her to know how to get down them versus falling down them.  She still needs to hold a hand if there isn't a railing nearby but she's getting better.

8.  Some of her favorites - swinging in our hammock, playing outside with Mills and watching him play ball, going down any slide, mega blocks, bubbles, anything little, stuffed animals (mainly Ducky), her blanket (coffee's cousin), these little squigy links that cling together, Elmo, the Duck and Goose books, brushing her teeth, playing in the tub, dancing with Daddy every night, sitting on Mills' back, music class, talking.

9.  As far as food - she has definitely gotten a little picky the last month or so.  But she's random because one day she'll eat an entire banana and the next day won't touch it.  Becky says she eats everything she is served there so maybe it's just what I'm fixing her?  I usually feed her whatever we eat within reason.  I do protein, veggie and fruit for her.  I just don't want her growing up to only eat chicken fingers, mac n cheese and hot dogs for dinner ya know?  PS - can we discuss how awful children's menus at restaurants are.  Why don't they make them more healthy?

10.  Sleep - she takes one nap from about 12:15 until 3 ish.  Sometimes they're 2 hours sometimes 3 hours.  In the bath at 6:30pm, bed at 7pm and she falls asleep around 7:30 usually.  Wakes up between 6:30-7am.  I'll take it!

Our little doll baby is 1.75 years old and we couldn't love her more!!!

First Official Hair Cut

Monday, Monday here.  Today is the first day in our new office.  It's been a pretty huge move.  We haven't moved in 17 years so this was a big deal.  Our new office building is just as nice, if not nicer.  Still in the same area but closer to Dean and Deluca, yikes!  Ha!

I took Molly Anne to the urgent care yesterday mainly because I didn't have time today to take her and I just knew she had an ear infection.  And I was right - double ear infection.  This is 10 days after she was diagnosed with croup.  Doctor said they are likely unrelated and two separate things.  Crazy.  She hasn't acted like she felt badly but she was just so congested I knew something was up.  I'm glad to have already gotten two doses of Amoxicillin in her and I hope she feels better soon.  It really hasn't affected her thankfully and she hasn't been contagious according to the doc since she didn't have a fever with it.

I feel horrible today and evidently my z-pack from last week did nothing.  Ugh.  Of course I have to travel this week.  Going back to doc today because I need something to work and work fast.  Mamas don't have time to be sick.

The worst part is Kevin now has some sort of crud from one of us on top of his sinus surgery from last week.  Ugh.  Please think happy and healthy thoughts for our crowd!  Thank you!!

Back to the fun stuff!  Molly Anne had her first official hair cut on Saturday morning!  I took her to my girl Val at Modern Salon and Spa.  Only the best for my little queenie!  ;)

Her before picture on their swanky sofa!

Val doesn't even cut children's hair but she was super sweet to take care of our Molly Anne.  I've gone to Val for probably 10 years so this was special that she cut Molly Anne's hair!  Val even did my wedding hair and every occasion in between.  And she has a 15 month old so she was soooo amazing to Molly Anne.  Molly Anne was an angel!

First she sat on my lap then moved to stand up and Val just adjusted ha!

Molly Anne was a ham to everyone in there.  So cute.  (I'm not biased or anything!)

Thank you to Val for being SO sweet and amazing.  We were out of there within 10 minutes and Molly Anne had about an inch less of hair and most importantly it was all even and the perfect bob!

Sorry for the terrible shadow!

Before and after!  I know you can't really tell but it looks so much better!

Lounging with her favorite boy on Saturday afternoon.

There ya have it!
