Run, Lanterns, Houses

Have yall ever had a absolutely terrible, no good run?  Ugh that was me on Monday night.  I was tired but knew I had to get a few miles in.  It was 98 degrees and I knew I shouldn't have run.  I hadn't drank water all day like I should have.  I was able to get home but there was a time I thought I was going to have to stop and call Kevin to ask him to come get me a mile away (how ridiculous is that?!).  Anyway last night was redemption.  I started doing Jillian Michael's video but I said heck with that and went out for a lil trot.  Nothing better my friends!

When we were at Cirque du Soleil on Saturday night they used these gorgeous lanterns.  They had these beautiful flowers around them and they were awesome.  It got me thinking of how much I like lanterns.

When I first moved into my condo my Mom picked one out from Pottery Barn that I bought and we were going to get Dad to put it up in my lil entry way.  It was going to be SO pretty.  Electric was a slight problem, therefore I had to return it.  Boo.

Kevin and I are officially on the hunt for a house.  He's putting my condo up for sale tonight.  It's so bittersweet.  Honestly I'm pretty sad because it was my first house and it meant so much to me that I was able to buy that almost right out of college.  The other side of me is super excited for a real home.  Okay let's be honest here.  I'm not moving into a house by myself.  So, Kevin will live there and I'll live in Kevin's condo until we're married.

Of course this is all speculation.  I think everyone will want my house like now.  Kevin says I need to be realistic with the fact that it isn't going to sell in a week :).  Honestly the real reason we're putting it up for sale now is that if I can get the price we want for it, it'll be a great problem to have.  It doesn't have to sell right now and that is a nice feeling.  I can wait it out for another year or year and a half and be a lil more picky for the price we sell it for.
Anyway that was a tangent, back to the lanterns.  I just think they are so decorative and I'd love to have a fabulous back deck with some classy furniture and the lanterns all around.

Do you decorate with lanterns?  If so, where in your home and how do you display them?

(PS - all images above are from Pottery Barn)

Fingers crossed that you find the perfect house! And that your condo sells for the price you're hoping for. xoxo

  4. I never thought about doing decoration with lanterns and putting things in them. I am loving the one with the pumpkin so I just may have to do that!

  5. I absolutely love lanterns! I have one with a candle on the inside that I use as a centerpiece on my table. I love the idea of placing other items in the lantern too!

  7. Lanterns are so cute, but I don't have any anywhere! I've recently become obsessed with the idea of a vintage birdcage for decoration!

Could you keep one or both of the condos and rent them?

  13. I am sooo overly sentimental about things, including moving. My parents live in the house they bought when they were first married, so I always think never moving growing up made it much more difficult on me now. ;) How exciting to look at houses together and think about your future married life!
