Five on Friday

1.  Election Day! We all dressed in red white and blue!

The day I actually voted with my assistants!

2.  Molly Anne had off school on Election Day so she spent the day at my office. During lunch we went to American Girl to pick out some Christmas gifts for our niece!

3. Mills laying in Grady’s room while he was at school!

The love is fierce!

4. Picture Day at school for this cutie on Monday!

5. We had Dubose pictures taken on Wednesday!  Molly Anne had hers done at age 2.5 so I wanted to have Grady’s taken at the same age. And I figured why not have Molly Anne photographed while she still has all of her baby teeth!  These pictures on our wall are legit what I would grab if our house is on fire! They’re sooooo special. Grady really was super happy and giggly during his little session. Molly Anne was a tad uptight and fake smiling but he opened her right up. He’s magical!

Birthday Wish List

Every year Kevin always asks me starting about two months in advance of my birthday what I would like! I think it makes it easier for him to mentally know what I have my eye on! So I thought I'd share it with you.

I'd love a new gray crossbody purse that is versatile and can be dressed up or down. Now that we aren't going to a bunch of weddings, it's not essential that it's super dressy.  This is the one I love!  It zips on top so you don't have to worry about your things falling out of it.
Fun fact - I always wear a tank top under a sweatshirt or athletic shirt during the Fall and Winter!  This is my favorite tank of the moment and I've raved about it on here before.  This color and the green are so pretty!

I've also raved about this long sleeve shirt from Lulu that is simply the best.  It's so comfortable and I want it in every color.  You can even pull it off your shoulder and dress it up...or wear it with leggings around the house!  True to size.

Perfume - I'm always on the hunt for perfume that I love but nothing will compare to Creed - Spring Flower for a winter scent (I only wear it on special occasions!).  An ex-boyfriend's Mom (umm like 15 years ago) got me addicted to that haha!
This Tocca Florence is a very close second and much more reasonable!  They have this $24 size that would be such a great gift for someone for Christmas!

I'm planning to do some holiday gift guides as well and have a few ideas jotted down.  Any special requests?

Pumpkin Carving and More

On Thursday night we carved a pumpkin!  Molly Anne was way into it. Grady, not so much. Maybe next year!

I picked this cookie decorating kit up at Wal-Mart and it was something fun for the kids to do on Friday afternoon!

I took them to get Krispy Kreme donuts on Halloween morning!

I think that’s it of our Halloween festivities!  They are at such fun ages and eat all of these activities up. They LOVE this stuff!

Halloween Night

We had an absolute blast on Halloween night too!  A bunch of neighbors came to our next door neighbor’s and we all brought themed food to share!

Mummy pizzas and dogs!

Grady got the hang of trick or treating very quickly!

This house was unreal. I should have taken a picture of their front yard and up to the their front door. The decorations were incredible. Then look at this set up of full size candy bars and decorations. Wow!!

I put Grady to bed around 9 and Kevin stayed with him while I took Molly Anne out to some more homes with friends on the golf cart. Saw my running friend Kacey!

We came in around 10pm and she sorted some candy quickly then hit the bed!

A great Halloween! I wish it were on a Saturday every year!

Neighborhood Halloween Party

Our neighborhood had the most wonderful Halloween party for the children on Saturday!  It was the perfect day weather wise for it and they had it in the large field near in the common area!  Plenty of room to spread out and have some fun! They had a food truck for everyone, raffles, an amazing DJ that had dancing contests, the annual parade and more. It was truly so much fun for everyone!  A great event of normalcy in the midst of corona chaos. Well done neighborhood ladies who put this together. It was awesome!

My friend Jen’s husband said Grady won the costume contest. I think his name just happened to be first in the list! ;) Can yall believe that this terribly uncrafty person made his costume?! When I asked him about a month ago what he wanted to be, he said TRAC-TA! So duh, that’s what we did! I did a google search and some cute homemade tractor costumes popped up so those were my inspiration!  Couple amazon boxes, some spray paint and ribbon and it happened!

Molly Anne, the rainbow unicorn, won some candy for dancing and I think her highlight was helping to lead the parade!

Five on Friday - Gift tags, Sam, New Teacher for MA

ONE:
I've been trying to get my act together for Christmas so I ordered some gift tags and stickers in hopes of making things easier this year.  I messaged the seller to ask if she could make the gift tags into stickers too and she said yes so I grabbed some of each! Done and done!

TWO:
Waiting to get Grady's hair cut at Modern this week.  Sometimes I look over and I'm like are my kids really wearing masks in public?!  Is this our life?!  GAH!

THREE:
Now that Molly Anne is going to school four days a week in person, we haven't had Sam as much. I'm forever thankful for her taking charge of Molly Anne's online learning from August until now.  She's also saved me when Grady's school closed and I found out the night before a day full of meetings.  Among many other times.  It's comforting to have a babysitter that comes in and takes charge and does it the way you would.  They're hard to find and I'm glad we have her right around the corner!

FOUR:
This week was treated like the start of a new year at the elementary school.  It was the first week of the new plan that you had to choose four days in person OR go fully virtual from now until the end of the school year.  There was some shifting around of teachers and of course Molly Anne's was the Kindergarten teacher that was chosen to teach the virtual students.  So this made her get moved to a new teacher.  Never a dull moment!  The year of - "It is what it is!"

FIVE:
Yesterday was dress up like a Book Character and of course Molly Anne was Pinkalicious!

I was supposed to be in Maryland for the day yesterday but we canceled the trip due to Hurricane Zeta coming through.  Big winds and it was supposed to rain all day up there and it would have been awful driving around in that mess looking at real estate.  I gained an entire day and night at home - what a treat!

We have a fun Halloween weekend coming up.  The weather is supposed to be beautiful and I'm just so excited for all of the children looking forward to this so much!  Happy Weekend!

My Kid’s Schedules at 2 and 5

Every now and then I like to write down the kid's schedules so I can remember this phase of life.  Here it goes...this is a school day!

6:30am - I wake Molly Anne up for school and she gets ready while I get Mills fed and taken out.
6:45am - she comes down to eat breakfast, I put lunch in her backpack and the backpack in the car, do her hair, make her go to the bathroom one last time etc.
7am - we leave for school.  Grady is still asleep and stays with Kevin
7:10am - back from school and I wrap up things in the kitchen and get myself dressed.
7:15am - get Grady up and dressed, breakfast then we are off to school and work.
12:00pm - Grady naps at home at 12pm and he naps at school at 12:30pm.  It used to be 12 at school hence why I do it at home at 12 but these days it's anywhere from 12-12:30pm when he takes a nap.  He will sleep until 2:30/3.
2pm - pick Molly Anne up from school (no after school program right now!)
We grab Grady at some point in the afternoon, varies by the day.
5:15pm - dinner time at our house except on a couple of days with afterschool activities.
6pm - bath
6:30pm - school night bedtime is 6:30pm, other nights it's 7pm.

Molly Anne has basically stopped taking a nap at this point, but sometimes on the weekends I'll have her go to her room for quiet time. If she is tired from the week, I make her lay down and she falls asleep most times.  I can always tell by her behavior what she needs to do that day! ;)  Before school was four days a week and I needed to work, she'd go have quiet time in her room too.  That provided a lot of sanity for me!

Anyway, that's where we stand now at ages 2.5 and 5!  We used to be a 7pm to 7am house but now it's on the earlier side with Molly Anne having to leave for school at 7am!
