House Selections

We are making the big submittal to our HOA this week!  Here are some selections we have chosen!

Front door:

We decided to go with the brick on the right and use the mortar from the left so it'll be a bit lighter than shown on the sample.  I was kind of leaning towards the left option but Kevin really likes the right and I can get on board with that too.  Compromise right?!

Paint colors for shutters and trim.  Left is the shutters, right is the exterior trim.  These may end up changing but they'll be pretty close to this look.

Garage door...

Sorry for the junky photo but this is everything all together!  The stain of the front doors will probably end up being more like the garage door or vice versa.

Of course we have renderings and street views of exactly what our house looks like but I probably won't post those on here quite yet...feels kinda odd to do that with all the creepy people in the world, sadly.  It's been 10 months since we decided to build a home and we finally have our floor plan done, exterior designed and materials picked out (thank you Ashley for all of your help!).  Next up, homeowners board approval, then we can start construction.  Hoping to start moving dirt mid-November!  We'll see!

  1. I've always thought it would be so fun (yet stressful) to build a house from the ground up! love your selections!!

  2. Love your choices. One tiny note-do a small poll of people in your area who have light trim. We chose a very similar trim color for our last home and have fought keeping it clean ever since. It shows cobwebs and any kind of debris. I never, ever would have thought that was something to worry about. But we still have had to pressure wash our trim every few years to keep it in good shape-which is kind of annoying since we went with a brick house to avoid that kind of constant upkeep. I live in E TN-so this might be a regional issue? Ask people around your area to be sure.

  3. I love your house picks and that door is gorgeous! We now have a white/gray brick house and eventually I'm hoping we can upgrade our door to something a little more modern, yet classic like what you're picking. I can't wait to see how everything comes together; it is so exciting for you all!
