We had a nice little weekend and hope you did too. Friday night we just hung around the house.
Saturday morning this animal had a freak out because the smoke alarm was beeping that it needed a new battery. You may remember this from last year when mills was lost in our backyard because he refused to come inside because of the beeping....and I was in Salt Lake City. We didn't let him outside this time so he huddled up in a safe place to him which happened to be in Molly Anne's room. Kevin fixed it and all was well.
Saturday morning cuddle time with our children ha! I am obsessed with the love between mills and Molly Anne. It is the most adorable thing.
Then we headed up to Winston Salem for the family reunion. Kevin's mom and Molly Anne.
This picture was from last week. I just love her face. Her first time at 521 BBQ.
I don't know about other babies but Molly Anne becomes difficult between the hours of 6-7pm. Fussy etc. Witching hour!
We had been starting her bath at 7pm and she was in bed by 7:45. A few weeks ago we moved that to 6:45 and 7:30. Since the time change, she's been up at 5/5:30a. That is too early and she needs more sleep than that. They always say to move their bedtime earlier and they'll sleep later. They also say to start bath time in that witching hour and it solves that problem. Reporting in - both of those theories are correct. This was Molly Anne last night at 6:20 so clearly she was tired. I woke her up at 6:30 and we did her bath and she was sound asleep by 7:15 and still asleep at 7 this morning. So that solves that (I hope).
Selfishly I don't want to put her in bed any earlier because it's less time I get to spend with her during the week after work but I know it's best for her so I'll do it.
Here's to a good week!
Maybe we should start putting Oliver to bed earlier too. He's been getting fussy at night more now but because he still wakes up 2 times in the night I always try to put him to bed later because then his first wake up time won't be till later. But a fussy baby is no fun especially when there's nothing you can do for him! We'll have to try it!
ReplyDeleteAlly - Life as I know it
Jack always gets fussy between 6-7pm too! We'll have to try moving up bath time as well!
ReplyDeleteDoll baby!!!! Seriously I love her in purple! Leo is just this week starting to enjoy his bath and it's become one of my favorite times of the day!
ReplyDeleteyes... we have a bed time of 6:30 for that very reason! I get home at 4, we eat a snack/ dinner, take a bath, and get in our jammies, play, and drink a bottle. She finally grabs her blanket and that's my cue to pop her in the crib. She sleeps great! (she's 15 months and has been doing that for probably 7-8 months now)... she wakes up around 6:30-7 am, and she's happy!
ReplyDeleteMy kids have almost always had a 6:30/6:45pm bedtime. And they're 5 and 6. For real. When they began kindergarten and dropped their naps (because of school) they needed to be in bed no later than 6:30pm in order to get enough sleep and not have massive toddler-type meltdowns at the end of an exhausting school day. Early bedtime solidarity!
