Feeling Pressured

How many of you constantly feel pressured?

Pressured to hang with certain people.

Pressured to have children.

Pressured to go to church.

Pressured to wear certain things.

Pressured to go certain places.

Pressured to make a lot of money.

Pressured to always look perfect.

Pressured to have a Pinterest worthy home.

Pressured to exercise constantly.

Pressured to have the perfect job.

Pressured to lose weight.

Pressured to be someone you aren't.

Pressure, pressure, pressure.  Kevin and I just want to be who we are and do what we want to do.  I'm trying really hard to start doing this and not what everyone else wants us to do.....key word: trying.

Good for you for realizing and being mindful of it! Keep plugging along, girl! It's so hard not to put the pressure on yourself when we hear/see/read these pressures all around us. I'm in the same boat - if you find the magic cure, please share :)

  2. Everyone feels it! Focus on what you DO have instead of what you DON'T have - it helps melt that pressure away.

  3. I deal with it a lot. Brad on the other hand? He really doesn't let it get to him. Men.. :(

  4. I don't really let things like that get to me anymore. I know I used to, as I've gotten older I've said screw the pressure. We can't do it all, we have to do what's best for us (and our families.)

  5. I feel pressured all the time to have everything perfect too! It's such a struggle but at the end of the day half of the things we feel pressured about aren't even important!

  6. I can so relate to this. Bryce's family has not taken our living together very well and it has put so much pressure and strain on our relationship the last few weeks...we are trying so hard to stand by who we are and the decision we've made together as adults, but it's hard!

Blogging can also be hard...seeing so many creative and awesome winning can be inspirational, but it can also make things hard!

  8. The older I get, the less I care and the less pressure I feel to do much more than what I really want to do. We only get one life to live and for many, it's far too short. So be who you are and do what you want because in the end, that's all any of us can really be held accountable for. Love your blog:)

  12. Man. I am glad it's not me :) When I turned 30 last year, I told myself it was time to say goodbye to those things. Now I just need to really do it.

  13. I feel this way sometimes too. Maybe you need a vacation to just get a little bit of a break!

  14. I used to feel this way. And then I realized that a lot of the things I was feeling pressure about were out of my control. I'm never going to be pregnant. But I can be an awesome aunt. I'm never going to have a model figure. But I can workout because it does my heart and my mind good. My home isn't fancy or perfect. But it's comfortable.

Maybe going through some crap in my life made me care less what others think. Maybe it's just that I'm older. I don't know--but letting go of the pressure feels amazing.
