Cabo Day 3 - Paddle Boarding and Laying Low

I really hope yall aren't sick of these recaps yet but I promise I only have Day 3 and Day 4 left!  :)  So here goes 3!

On Monday we really layed low and tried to recover from a wild Sunday night!  In the morning we layed by the beach and chilled out.  One thing I really had wanted to do in Cabo was go paddleboarding.  Have yall ever done it?

Well I tried.  And you are seeing in this picture about 2 seconds where I stood on the board (and the guy was helping me get started haha!)

And then I crashed!

But I went out there on my knees and I tried to stand up then.  Keep in mind there were jet skiers and water taxis everywhere! 

Umm yeah that didn't work either.  Wasn't Kevin so sweet to capture all of these crashes?!!!!  Ahh!

But I made it back in and had a good time trying and being out there.  Next time I will do it in a bay area or a very calm lake, early in the morning when it is glassy.  It was way too rough and I was so nervous with all of the inexperienced boaters out there that they'd run over me!

We got cleaned up and went to Mexican Night at our hotel. 

Check out their grill area and all their fresh fish.  We had the best sea bass everrrrrr.

After dinner we layed on the beach chairs and watched the sun go down.  And evidently we saw some shady business going on here.  Uck!  These people harassing us to buy stuff was what I didn't like about Cabo.  I guess they're just trying to make a living but geez I'd rather give you $5 for your family then have you drive me nuts!

Cabo Day 2

Whew so I was able to get to work on time yesterday and about mid morning some folks asked me to drive up to Boone, NC with them.  Shoot me!  I was planning to stay until about noon then go home and sleep....yeah that didn't happen.  I think I got back from traveling around 6:15.  Oh well, it was fine and we got a lot done so can't complain!  Sweet Kevin had made us what he calls "gourmet grilled cheeses!"  That was fine with me so I didn't have to cook after only an 1.5 hour nap the night before!

Anyway so Day 2 in Cabo....and PS - I'm going to try to be quick about my recaps because I don't want to bore yall with everything but as yall know I write this blog for it to be a diary so please bare with me!

The beach was so serene early in the morning.  That's our security guard keeping an eye out!

Lots of activities going on each day!  I participated in one that you'll see in the next couple of days!

This was from the Champagne Brunch that they have on Sundays.  Talk about amazing.  We ate so much seafood and not all of our plates! ;)

Then Kevin and I decided to talk into downtown Cabo.  It was about a 15 minute walk from our resort.

The Giggling Marlin is evidently a pretty cool place, unfortunately it was closed since we were there too early.

This is the inside of Cabo Wabo.  They were open but we just walked around and took pictures.  Pretty touristy!

We were walking along the marina and met the nicest folks from Fort Worth, Texas.  They took our picture!

They have a penthouse there in Cabo at one of the resorts and told us a fabulous place for margaritas that was a locals hang out.

And here we are there.  Yall we got 2 margaritas (the best one I've ever had in my life, by far - they squeeze fresh juice in them!) and chips/salsa and our bill was $9.  We gave him $15 and called it a day....it was that fantastic!  But the craziest thing happened.....our friends that had told us about the place walked in there for dinner so we ended up hanging out with them all night!

The Mother, Daughter and lil girl went back home and Keith and Brandon stayed out with us.  Yall we went to Mango Deck and had a big time!  It was out of control!  We loved this family and had so much fun with them.  We saw them again the next day out on the beach.  Maybe our trips will align another time because they were gems!

Kevin and I made it back to our resort (after stopping for dinner) and went out to the sunset/sushi bar, a big group of ladies were taking tequila shots.  We watched and took their picture for them!  :)

And it had been a BIG day so we called it a night around 11:30 which was actually 1:30 east coast time. 

Back from Cabo!

We're back and barely alive haha!  We were supposed to get in at 9:30pm EST last night but ended up with a 6 hour delay in Phoenix so we got to Charlotte at 3:30am.  So yes when we finally got home and unpacked a bit I believe I saw the 5 o'clock hour then 6:45am when my alarm went off to get ready for work.  Eeeks! 

Anyway, we truly had a great time and I can't wait to share with yall what we did.  We got to Cabo around 11am their time and by the time we got to the hotel, it was close to 1:30pm.  We looked around and grabbed some lunch and hung by the beach.

That night we went to the hotel next door that we had reciprocity for our all-insclusive at and had dinner there.  This is on the beach walking back.

Anyway we went to bed early as we were still on east coast time.  More to come on days 2, 3 and 4.  Hope yall are ready for some pictures! ;)

Game and Cabo

The good thing about living uptown is that lots of your friends do too and last minute we can decide to go out.  Tara and I met halfway between our houses at Cans.  Cans closed a couple years ago but we all loved it for Panther's games.  Well this year, they are reopening only for the games so we had to go check it out.  It was actually pretty cool and we ended up seeing a ton of people we knew.

 In other news, Kevin and I are jetting off to Cabo San Lucas tomorrow morning through next Wednesday.  We cannot wait!

Murfee Scarves

Ahhh feeling good this morning.  Met two of my girlfriends at 6:15 for an early morning run.  One of them has run a full and a half marathon in the past year, the other one has quick legs and can out run anyone.  Yeah, I was intimidated but I did it....basically I fell for peer pressure!  But I'm glad I went out there with them.

I don't know that there are better transition pieces into Fall than the Lilly Murfee Scarves.  Seriously I love all of mine and they dress up a normally plain outfit.  They really give it some spunk as Mama says!

Tonight the Carolina Panthers (Charlotte's NFL team) have a home game so we always like being out and about downtown when that's going on.  Something about a lil cool in the air and football season is so great to me.  Well - it was cool this morning, it'll be 90 later I'm sure!  :)  Either way, cheers to the Panthers and let's hope for a win tonight!

Wedding Wednesday - Flower Inspiration

Today I thought it would be fun to show some wedding flower inspiration I've found.  I have loads more in my lil binder I've kept from tearing out of magazines!  The first three pictures are from Trish's (Pink Preppy Lilly Lover) blog and the 4th is from Sweets and Treats!  The last two are from the Charlotte Bridal show.

Of course the colors are really going to depend on where we end up having it....and let's be honest, my Mama has free reign on the flowers.  After all, she was in Garden Club back in the day!

But these are a few things I like.

I'm mildly obsessed with hydrangeas and peonies.

Fortunately my Aunt Susan is really fabulous at flowers and has already typed a long email that we'll be looking back at many times.  I'm thankful for that!

Despite all these pretty images, honestly, flowers really aren't that important to me on this day.  They do make the room look very elegant but who ever leaves a wedding talking about how pretty the flowers were?  They typically talk about the food, drinks and entertainment, right and geniunely what a good time they had?!  Don't get me wrong, we definitely want pretty flowers, they just aren't the highest on my priority list!  And they die the next week...!

Entertainment is probably highest on my list....in fact we're penciled in with a fabulous band that I'll have to tell you about another time.
