Weekend of Dinners Out

We typically go out for dinner once on the weekends. Maybe twice. Well this weekend we went out all three nights for nice meals!

Friday night we went to the club with Kevin's parents and nice! Pink was evidently the color to wear!!

We ended up seeing our friends Lauren and Mark and we love hanging with them and my kids love her kids. That's the best part of the club - randomly getting to see friends and it always turns out to be such a fun evening!

Saturday morning walk with the boys to take his friend Connor part of his birthday present. Mills looks extra handsome from his grooming at Stay Golden Lodging!

Grady and I headed to Connors party while Kevin and Molly Anne went to see Inside Out 2. Kevin had already taken Grady a couple of weeks ago.

That night we went to Porter's House for dinner. Fancy! It's good to take the kids to places like that at their ages. They learn manners and how to act in a nice restaurant. They were actually really great and enjoyed steak and pasta and of course fancy Shirley temple.

We both got the special - ribeye and lobster. It was soooo good.

Then we did what we always do when we have extra time - drive around and look at neighborhoods. We like just cruising. We happened upon a concert at Rea Farms by an 80's band and we got out and watched a song of that.

Also I want to remember that Grady wanted to match Kevin in their Johnnie O shirts. I guess he hears Molly Anne and I talking about matching!

We watched the Olympics for awhile when we got home with this puppy.

Sunday we had all of our smoke detectors replaced - every 8-10 years from manufacture date on them! We had a situation last week when one went off (like not the low battery beep) and it freaked me out! So had to get them all redone and all is good now!

We did some errands and Grady played at Connors pool. Then Molly Anne got to go over for a bit too. She is a vibe y'all.

Last night we went to our last dinner place of the weekend - Little Mama's. I don't know if I've ever had food that tasted so good! This is part of the "mozzarella experience!"

Chicken Romano on this amazing fettuccine with truffled breadcrumbs on top. Like whoa! I'm glad to have leftovers!

On our way home the prettiest rainbow!

Here's to a great week!

Six on Friday

1. I pretty much cook Sunday through Thursday for dinner but this week I have not been into it. I grabbed the Tacu Tuesday family meal at Viva Chicken and it was soooo much food and sooo good. $27 and I ordered it online and it was waiting for us when we got there. Kids loved it.

2. Oh she soooo badly wants this and does not need it! Little girls + Sephora. Had to clean up her room and organize her other products before this is gonna happen. We will see. She also wants a new backpack and new Nikes and new.....name it and she wants it. Grady wants nothing. Per usual! Laughing.

3. Kevin, Grady and I enjoyed this amazing salad with dinner on Monday night. We had gotten the tomatoes in Ocean Isle. Basil is from our backyard.

4. The face of a little boy that cheated playing a card game that he likes - slapjack! No cheating!

5. We've been walking a one mile loop in our hood at night after dinner then playing basketball girls versus boys. Molly Anne and I smoke the boys! Duhhhhhh haha!! They may think differently. It's the little things that are the most fun!

6. Our school PTO offers a simple click to order school supplies. They have a list made by the teachers for each grade and you just click the grade, pay for it and it arrives on your door step. I've done this every year and it's fantastic. It's a PTO fundraiser. And the teachers love it too. Win win win.

Hope you all have a nice weekend!

Molly Anne is NINE!

I don't think I've been great at doing these as Molly Anne has gotten older but I want to remember some things about her as she just turned 9 on July 4th!

We were reminiscing the other day how I've always taken her pic in this chair for every year and she just jumped in as we were laughing and wanted her picture taken now!

1. She moved up to the 73rd percentile for height. She has kind of bopped around the percentiles on height all of her life.

2. She is a mastermind of all things creative! She can make something out of nothing and it's super cute. Recently she and Grady painted rocks at the beach with like OIB police or OIB fire or Sunset Slush and handed them out to all of the folks at the concert. All her idea and up her alley.

3. Speaking of, she does have a heart of gold. She's fun to be around, easy to talk to and full of energy!

4. She still doesn't like going to bed because she feels like she is going to miss something! During the school year she now has a 7:45pm bedtime as of middle of 3rd grade. They get up sooo early because school starts so early!

5. She has lost 12 teeth mainly because she had 4 pulled this summer! She's got some time before any come in. I'm so glad she loves the tooth fairy!

6. She has small feet - just now a size 2! (Same as Grady!)

7. She loves clothes, make up, skin care and jewelry. Girly girl through and through.

8. But she's also sporty spice! She has tried lots of different sports over the years. This past year she swam year round, played tennis every week in a lesson with our pro (and Grady), and also tried Girls on the Run and played basketball again. This year she is swimming again, tennis (always I hope!) and playing field hockey again. I'm sure she will play basketball in the winter and who knows about the spring!

9. She is super thoughtful, inquisitive, laid back and smart in school.

10. She lovesssss Grady. I'm so thankful that they're very close. They battle it out some times but overall they're pretty solid. She also lovessss Mills. Oh my she loves him and he loves her.

Her pediatrician always asks her these questions and here are her answers this year:
What do you want to be when you grow up? An art teacher
Favorite vegetable - carrot (although I'd say steamed broccoli)
Favorite fruit - strawberries
Favorite food - pizza

Kevin and I are so proud of her. May she continue to be well rounded and a good girl! xoxo we love you so much Molly Annie if you read this one day! :)

Recipe: Easy Veggie Dip

Found this recipe somewhere online and now I can't find it! But I whipped this up one morning while we were at the beach so we could have it as an appetizer that night. Super easy and delish!

Here are the ingredients. Mix together, let chill together, then serve!

OIB Weekend

We went down to Ocean Isle late Thursday. Got right on our bikes of course!

Got the boat out in the water and ate Mexican food at home for dinner.

A canal cruise with Greer and Drew who stopped by.

Molly Anne spent the night with them and Drew got them these shades haha.

Grady and I did a bunch of errands on Friday morning. Of course Grady had to get shades too so Kevin took him to Beach Life. After lunch at the perch we did the arcade and then stopped by our other friends house.

Then we biked to the concert!

Saturday was a no swim day because of rip currents so we boated to the east end of the island on the intracoastal. Good times and dodged a storm!

Benjy was with us this weekend and it was awesome catching up with him!

We had a low country boil at our house Saturday night. Palomas too!

Flying kites in the street at 9:30pm because why not ?!

Sunday we headed to 59 Causeway for lunch. The Italian is amazing.

These two crack up. Dressed alike sitting at their own table. I love them so much. Sometimes I look at them in this type of situation and cannot believe they're mine/ours!

Got back late last night. Not until 7:30pm. Had lots of laundry to do back at the beach (3 beds and towels) and needed to get the house prepped before the big rain event this coming week. They said to buy a beach house....but it is a lot of work!! But priceless memories!

Thursday Finds

ONE - loving these jeans.

TWO - I saw this jacket in the store, came home and couldn't stop thinking about it so I took the plunge and ordered. Runs true to size. I cannot wait to get it. I'm going to wear it so much.

THREE - my favorite winter time perfume is on sale with getting the travel size.

FOUR - a cutie dress that comes in black too.

FIVE - some different jean shorts. I like that they aren't cut off so they're a bit dressier.
