No Water

These lil water bottles and my friend Tara's shower have been my saving grace this week.

We haven't had water in our 386 unit condo building since Tuesday around noon.  You wouldn't think it's terrible but then you think about it.  No toilets flushing, no shower, no dishwasher, no water to hand clean dishes, no laundry, no washing your face or brushing your teeth.  Nada.

This means showering at your friends house, going to the bathroom at the bar downstairs (if it's open!) and brushing your teeth at your office in the morning.  It means I'm thankful I had just done laundry on Monday.  It means hand sanitizer is my best friend.  It means eating out for every meal.  It means not being able to run all week long because I can't shower in 5 minutes.

Yes, it's getting old, but why be mad about it?  There's nothing we can do!  We're at the mercy of our capable property management team who is doing everything in their power to get it fixed.  And PS - they've "fixed" it 3 times and the fix keeps failing.  Big issues with high pressure water lines that go up 36 stories.  Not your typical plumbing job.

Until then, I'll keep taking Tara up on her offer of a shower at her place and keep thanking dear friends like BLC from The Company She Keeps who so sweetly offered for us to go stay with her Mama!  Seriously, what gems of friends I have!

  3. Oh my gosh, that's terrible! When the hurricane came through in September, I was without water for a day and I thought it was the end of the world! I hope it comes back on soon!
