Ruth's Chris, Fam Reunion, Pool Party

Wow, it was a busy weekend as usual.  On Friday, the Avenue (our condo building) put on a happy hour event at Ruth's Chris.  They had some good drink specials and provided some appetizers for us.  Afterward we headed to Prohibition and then over to Stoolies for dinner.  Kevin's buddy from the Bank and his girl came with us (Craig and Sara).  They are so fun to hang out with!

On Saturday we headed south early to Kevin's parent's home where they were hosting a family reunion.  It was so great to see everyone and catch up.  We got back to Charlotte just in time to see the last 30 minutes of DJ Shy.  This guy is great - he has another guy with him that plays the drum as he DJ's.  Good stuff and perfect for a pool party.  They played last year so I was really looking forward to this.  I'm so glad I got to see 45 minutes of him!  Of course the pool was hoppin'!

You'll see the guy below with his hands over his head...that's Jonathan Stewart who plays for the Panthers (NFL team here in town).  He was visiting with one of his other boys.

There they are laughing and carrying on.  They were nice guys.

Saturday night Kevin and I decided to go walk around Taste of Charlotte as I had bought some coins we needed to use.  Basically it's a big festival in uptown Charlotte where lots of restaurants all over town set up a tent and serve mini portions of their food.  Pretty cool concept but it was so crowded so we just walked back upstairs after we got a couple things.

We ended up cruising out to TCBY for a lil treat.  LOVE that place and wish there was one closer to us!

On Sunday we headed to Trader Joe's for our groceries for the week then came back and made pineapple mojitos to lay by the pool with.  It was a laid back day at the pool since the pool party was so crazy!

We grilled some filets last night and I threw some fresh asparagus on there too.  I seasoned it with salt, pepper, a little olive oil and balsamic vinegar.  Of course some fresh garlic doesn't hurt either!  We also had corn so it was the perfect summer meal!
Today it's back to the Monday morning grind!
