Weekend At Home

Friday afternoon, Kevin was home early from work so while Grady was still asleep, I took Molly Anne, Maggie and Mills for a quick bike ride to the playground!

It was a beautiful day!  Mills got right up on the playground with the girls!

Kevin’s back has been really hurting him and his doc sent him to the ortho urgent care which is an after hours thing and opened at 5:30pm Friday night. So while he did that, the kids and I played, ate frozen pizza for dinner, FaceTimed with Anna Kate then took the golf cart around the hood and visited with neighbors playing outside.

Kevin’s next step on his back is an MRI next week then a follow up the week later. I hope he gets some relief because he’s pretty miserable.

Molly Anne and Grady had tennis and soccer Saturday morning!  Hand-me-down shep shirts from her cousins are the best!  She has loved playing tennis!

Nap time on Saturday!

I took him for a golf cart ride while the house was quiet!

I picked up Mexican food for dinner from Margaritas then we had a chill night. I worked on Grady’s tractor costume for Halloween. Molly Anne made a fort and slept in her unicorn sleeping bag on the floor in it all night. This is a star gazing projector that my friend Sarah told me about!  I got it on Prime day and Molly Anne brought it in off the front porch and opened it before Grady and I came inside. So that’s one less Christmas gift ha! It’s super cool though!

Kevin took Molly Anne to breakfast and to Target Sunday morning which was incredibly helpful!  Grady has croup again so I had been up from 2:30-5:30am worrying about him.  He and I laid low while they got to do something fun together. And get a few things for me at Target. Win win!

I got grocery shopping done at 4am while I was up worrying so I grabbed that through the express lane and then jumped on the bike for a noon Sundays With Love with my friend Jodie. It’s always so good to do this ride. Highly recommend taking it live too.

This one was supposed to be reading on Raz Kids but was watching some jojo siwa stuff. I’m trying to be nice by calling it stuff!!!

After nap time we played outside!  A little sunshine is always a good thing.

Kevin made us leftovers for dinner and Molly Anne was in the bed early because it was a school night!  Grady always loves a little extra time with only Mama and Daddy!

Happy Monday!

Walks, Molly Anne's Sports, New Cocktail

Hello Friday!  I haven't been able to exercise this week and it's been less than fun.  I have been able to do some strength classes but I can't wear shoes yet because of the ants gahh.  I'm hoping that resolves soon because I need to sweat for my mental stability!

ONE:
Mills has been extra sweet lately. Actually, he's always sweet.  He was sooooo tired when I took this picture.

He cuddled right up to my friend Nina!  He made himself right at home on top of her!  Funny boy.

TWO:
Grady and I have gone on a lot of walks this week and the boy loves it!  He runs and is just all boy out there.  It's so good for him.

And he ALWAYS has his "mont truck" with him in one hand!  He doesn't do many things in a day without a monster truck!

THREE:
This is six weeks at Steps in Motion. Her progress is amazing and she loves it so much!  She's taking Jazz and also tumbling.  These are probably her favorite extra curriculars at the moment!  I'm so proud of her for jumping right in and trying something new!  And Grady in the background trying to do splits cracks me up!

FOUR:
Speaking of extra curriculars, I almost think Swim is more essential to life rather than fun all of the time, if that makes sense?  I'm glad she's continuing at Charlotte Aquatics.  They're really amazing there.  They had spirit week this week and we happened to go twice because of her new level and moving to a different day and time.  Monday was Superhero Day!

Also, I feel like it's a good time to share why I signed her up for a million activities this Fall - because I didn't think she'd be in school and she needs the socialization!  Playing things by ear for when school starts to be in person for four days a week!

And Wednesday was Disney Day!

Look at this picture...she is in the middle and the other two girls in her class on either side.  They're doing a drill for working on their diving.  She's so much shorter and younger than them!  It's unreal but I love that she's up for the challenge of another new stroke and getting stronger on the others.

FOUR:
I made a new cocktail this week for when I had a couple of friends over and it's a White Cosmo.  Got the recipe from my friend Ashley that I grew up with.  It's supposed to have White Cranberry juice but Teeter only had White Cran Peach.  It was good but I'd like to try it with how it's supposed to be done.  Walmart is evidently the place for White Cranberry if anyone is going to try this recipe!  Delicious this way too!

FIVE:
Grady needed an Orioles hat according to my parents that live in Maryland!! Isn't he so cute?  I'm obsessed, obviously.

A boy and his dog on a walk!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!  I ordered a couple of pairs of earrings and some shoes that I'll hopefully get to chit chat about next week.

Grady Home and Molly Anne School

This has been a crazy week mainly due to getting an email from Grady's school at 6pm on Sunday night that said they'd be closed for a week and a half due to a few unrelated covid cases.  This is their first go at this and I'm sure they're learning a lot.  Nonetheless, I had to scramble for childcare so I could work and yada yada yada. And now it's for two weeks!

I also ended up at the doctor on Monday because of the monstrosity of my ankle from the zillion fire ant bites.  They gave me a cortisone shot in my toosh, steriod cream, antibiotic and another oral steriod to start on Tuesday.  But come Tuesday you could see my ankle again and the 20 or so bites were a lot less angry.  And by Tuesday night, I could sleep through the night again.  I was up allll night Sunday and Monday.

Molly Anne graduated to level 4B for swimming so she's officially learned all four strokes now!  She is loving her new class.  She was kind of getting tired of going to swim class but we pushed through and I think the change of class and instructor has been a good refresh for her!

As you can imagine, Grady is loving life at home with this week with Molly Anne and I.  Yes, he's still crying about 4 out of 5 days when I drop him off at school.  We've been outside a ton this week.  He loves just walking around our neighborhood and finding mud puddles, throwing rocks and being a boy.  And I can get some work done while he does all of that.  He stays on the sidewalk nicely now and is being such a good boy at following instructions!

Molly Anne started school in mid August going one day a week in person.  We had Sam help her three mornings a week that she was at home and I helped her with schoolwork on Fridays.  Starting in late September, she started going in person to school two days a week so Sam helped us two days a week.  On the 26th, she starts four days a week in person!  That'll be huge and at that point, Sam won't be helping us anymore except here and there.  I've been so grateful to have Sam with us, as she's been a huge saving grace.  I know how lucky we are to be able to afford to have Sam and I don't take it for granted!  She gives me sanity by letting me be able to work!

Speaking of work, my office is fully open as of this past Monday and we are expected to be at the office daily.  We had been working off an A B schedule since middle of May for being in the office but now it's back to 5 days a week. Of course this occurs on the week that Grady's school is shut down.  Thankful for understanding co-workers and bosses!

Oh I could keep going on and on yall but I've gotta roll!  Hope everyone is having a good week!

Club and Uhwarrie Day Trip

Hope everyone had a nice weekend!  We had a couple of highlights!

Friday Molly Anne had a virtual field trip to a farm.  This is how she dressed herself for it, cute right?!  Grady had orange day at school and his soccer jersey was his only orange so why not?!

Virtual field trip...this is where we are with the corona virus.  Unbelievable.

Friday night we headed to the club for live music and fun with friends out on the back lawn.  It's such a highlight of the week and we always have a blast.

Per usual, Grady was the star of the show haha!

Saturday morning Grady played soccer and played the entire time!  I was so proud of him!

Then the kids and I loaded up and we headed to the Uwharrie National Park to meet up with my brother, SIL and nieces.  They were camping there for the long weekend so we went to visit for the afternoon.  It was only about an hour and 40 minutes.  The kids had a BLAST.  Definitely in their element, especially Grady.  This was before he fell in the lake.

This was after he fell in the lake.  He just fell off the side into very shallow water when he was throwing rocks in the water.  He was fine and it was actually pretty funny!  He was a mess!

Muddy boy loving life!

My brother took Molly Anne fishing and she LOVED that!

Yep, it finished like this on the way home!  He went through three outfits and had the time of his life!

Sunday we laid low all morning.  Really the only thing we did on Sunday was go get TCBY which I have been promising Molly Anne for weeks.  We did that after nap then picked up Zoes for dinner.

Keeping it classy!

I stepped on a fire ant pile yesterday morning while out with Mills so my ankle is covered in bites and super swollen.  Going to get a cortisone shot and an antibiotic at lunch today.  It's disgusting.  Also, got an email last night that Grady's school is closed for the next 7 business days so back to winging it on that front.  Of course it happens the same day that my office is fully back open and we are expected to be at the office every day.  Sam, our babysitter, is saving the day today and Kevin is going home early to relieve her while I work and get Molly Anne.  Never a dull moment!

This Week

This week has been pretty blah if I'm being real honest.  I traveled to Winston for the day on Tuesday so Kevin picked Molly Anne up from school and of course was like 3rd in carline!  It was nice to travel again for work even though I only drove an hour and a half north.  I felt like me again and less like Mama for that short day.
I need to do a post on how this whole covid thing has stalled Mom's careers.  And yes in some cases both parents but overall, I really do think it's a Mom issue mostly. It's just my thoughts and what I've seen on some other career boards and things like that.  It's a tough thing.  I'm WAY over covid like most of us are.  Even my 5 year old told me when we were driving the other day how she wants the corona virus to be gone.  And she doesn't hear me complain because I don't around them.  But a 5 year old notices more than we know!
These blue pumpkins made by a local Mama certainly brightened up this week.  My tiny dancer in the middle is super sweet.  She asked to be in the picture, so duh, of course!

Her flexibility and tumbling skills have improved so much since she started at Steps in Motion this year.

Playdate at a CMS (Charlotte Mecklenburg) playground since they're not in school!

Lemonade after being so hot at the playground and of course we got Grady one too for when we picked him up from school!

Golf cart ride right when we got home!

Snuggled in after dinner and baths for about 10 minutes of TV.  Molly Anne set them up there like that and asked Grady if he wanted the fuzzy or soft side of the blanket then spread it out over them.

Happy Thursday to all!
