1. These are the jeans that I rave about constantly and they’re under $50!

2. Best candle ever. Pick this up for a Christmas gift or hostess gift!

3. I like this lighter weight cardigan and it seems to have a bit more pep!

4. The hat. Comes in black too.

5. Spanx + tennis skirt = sounds like I may actually win a match with that combo.

6. I love a hydroflask and never see them on sale. This one is for the mama not the children, with a straw!

7. The color of these fav leggings of mine are on point!

8. You don’t find these kicks on sale very often.

Oyster Rock Night

Saturday night we went to Oyster Rock for dinner. It’s one of our favorite places to go at the beach but you have to make reservations pretty far in advance. And they don’t know who I am, this is not sponsored. Y’all know I’m not that fancy.

It’s always so fun to grab a drink at the Oyster Pit before dinner. Orange crush!

Mom and I got a special - Stuffed Flounder. It was stuffed with crab and shrimp. Delicious. The potatoes au gratin are insane. I was glad I ran for an hour that morning!

Ha this one.

July 4th - Molly Anne’s Birthday

Yesterday was Molly Anne’s birthday! She loves having a July 4th birthday!

I’ll be honest, I didn’t get to do any decorating or anything because I didn’t have any of my decor from home and I forgot to bring it. And there’s no helium in Ocean Isle Beach. I made do with some July 4th bling and she didn’t mind one bit. It was a much bigger deal to me than her. Just a little reminder for my mama friends.

We looked out the window from breakfast and saw a rainbow!

She was super patient waiting for everyone to get up before she opened presents!

No Stress Chess! She’s wanted this game for the longest time! She loves chess!

My parents gave her a suitcase!

Then we headed to the OIB parade which they had at 10am this year which was so nice compared to the 2pm start last year. It was so hot then! This was much better!

Molly Anne had a little fever on July 3rd so she was super bummed to not get to celebrate with her friends on her actual birthday. Do-over coming soon! We made the best of it though. Since she was fine on the 4th, she got to see friends from a distance at the parade!

Playing right friends water guns!

It started storming during the parade which was crazy. We hung on the golf cart watching then eventually headed home when the lightening got too wild. We were able to see most of it though.

While Grady napped, Kevin took Molly Anne to beach life to look around and get some fun toys. Then they hit up the arcade which is one of her favorite things to do. She won 1,000 tickets on the big bass wheel. I was so happy for her!

We had cooked out the night before at a block party so we ended up going to Sharkys for dinner! We let her choose of course!

Checking the crab trap!

We sung happy birthday and had her fav - ice cream cake!

Then the fireworks began and we watched them from the back porch. It was perfect!

She said, “it was a really awesome birthday!” And now she’s 7!

Few More Pics

A few more out of order pictures from last week!

When Nannie comes to Charlotte, I barely exist!

Using the blower at Nannie and Poppa’s house!

Okay I think I’m mostly caught up!

Swim Team

Molly Anne had a wonderful swim team season and she honestly loves it so much! It’s such a great team bonding and individual competition too! She got to do a bunch of relays this year as a sub to the regular girls. Technically she was a shrimper since she hadn’t turned 7 yet but she practiced with the 7-10 year olds and that really was great for her. She says she wants to do more swimming, we will see!

With Maggie and Greer

Her little friend Aria

She loves some Coach Ashlyn!

I saw her cheering on her teammates constantly and going over and telling the other team great job. That’s what it’s all about! Made me so proud.

Join your neighborhood swim team or another local one. You’ll find it to be a HUGE time commitment but soooo much fun!!

I’m back!

Hello friends and family. I’m back from Maryland with an extra passenger - my Mom!  My dad is still getting better and it was best I brought her back with me. We had a nice 9 hour ride yesterday.

I must say, my parents have some wonderful friends that help with no questions asked. We truly couldn’t have gotten through this last week without them. They watched grady, they sat in the ER with my mom for 10 hours, they stop by and visit dad very often. I’m just so thankful.

Having parents 500 miles away when we have young-ish kids and work full time ain’t for the faint at heart. But it’s got to work for now. Thankful for airplanes, rental cars, flexible children and friends.

Grady with Uncle Clay’s shoes on!

Molly Anne’s birthday is on Monday! She loves having a July 4th birthday. I need to do a post on swim team which wrapped up last night, among other things! Lots to catch up on. Talk soon!
