July 4th/Molly Anne's Birthday
Last Wednesday, the 3rd, we loaded up and drove down to Pawleys Island. Molly Anne was excited to spend her birthday there the next day! As you can see, we were packed to the brim including her presents (one of them covered up with a blue sheet!). We had to put the pack n play mattress the way it is so Mills wouldn't come see the children constantly.

He kept Grady up almost the entire drive down because Grady just giggled at Mills the whole time!

July 4th morning view. Molly Anne's 4th birthday!
Gifts waiting for her! She saw one of her friends at school had this Ziggle when they had a motor day at school and she's been asking for it since! It's Radio Flyer so of course it's super cool. She loves it so much!
Checking everything out! More Disney Legos!

Ready to go to the Pawleys Parade

It was sooooooo hot. Grady had to lose his shirt and we were forcing water on him. All of the kids were running around in their bathing suits.

On the return, Kevin, Grady and I went together.

We stopped by the creek beach for Grady's first beach experience and also the first time he said MAMA!!! Finally!! Not that he really knows what he meant but I'd like to think he does haha!

I love these pictures of him!

Back at the house we had birthday cupcakes with a special drink after lunch.

Golden parade on the dock. Mills runs without a leash there now and he loves it.

We had a low key night hanging out downstairs. It ended up storming terribly so there weren't many fireworks. They happened the next night though. More to come. But Molly Anne had a wonderful birthday!

Molly Anne is Four!
Molly Anne turns 4 today! A firecracker from the start!
Oh goodness, where do I even start?!! Molly Anne is so much fun. She is full of life and personality and has never met a stranger.
1. She is big into telling everyone that she loves them. The guy that cuts her hair, her friends at school, teachers she sees in the hallway, the guy that cuts our grass, everyone. She told our cleaning ladies the other day, "Thank you for cleaning our house" in this super sweet voice. Everyone melts when she says these nice things!
2. She wants to be a big girl so badly. She (oddly enough) is a little follower but it's surprising because she doesn't have a shy bone in her body. She will go up to a group of girls or boys at the pool and say, "Hi I'm Molly Anne, what's your name?" And she will play with them, no matter how much older they are!
3. In a 10 minute drive the other day she asked me about the concrete truck we saw, we talked in more detail about the water tower and she said oh that's where Daddy and I got dinner for us the other night. She wants to know about IT ALL. Allllll of the questions. And technical questions too.
4. Speaking of being technical - she loves building things with magnatiles. Now she is into legos. BIG into legos. She loves little pieces to anything. She honestly probably doesn't use 75% of the toys in her playroom because she gets so focused on doing these technical things. She tells me now that she's going to go to NC State, be an engineer then be a mommy. Wonder where she got that from!
5. She is soooo good with Grady and talks to him in this baby voice sometimes. It's adorable. She idolizes him and the feeling is mutual. I hope they grow up to be good friends and after they each have their own families, I hope they get together often.
6. She wants to wear a dress every day of the week. Or a skirt. Anything that twirls. She isn't shy to say, "I look gorgeous" after I do her hair and she's dressed for the day. I hope she always has that confidence.
7. She is very into rainbows, unicorns, hearts and stars. She draws a heart on everything.
8. I find her repeating a lot of what I say. I tell Mills bye when we leave the house and the other day she said, "bye bubba, we will be back soon" and that's evidently what I say every day. She even says it in the same tones I do. She's always listening!
9. As far as schedule, she wakes up about 7am every day. She takes a nap at school from 1-3 because they still make them do that. Sometimes she sleeps and sometimes she doesn't. On the weekends, she will usually sleep one of the weekend afternoons depending on what's going on. A lot of time I still make her go lay in bed and try to fall asleep for a couple of hours. She needs the downtime because she goes so hard all day every day. She does to bed at 7pm every night.
10. Her memory is unbelievable which she definitely gets from Kevin. She remembers things from months ago. And itty bitty details, she remembers. It's unreal!
11. Molly Anne loves everything. Like everything. There is nothing she won't play with. Everything is exciting to her. You should have seen her opening gifts from her friends after her party - she loved it all! She barely watches TV or my iPad because she is busy doing all of the things. She will play in her playroom for hours on end and I don't hear from her. It's wild! I make her play her little preschool learning games on my iPad for an hour or so on the weekends just to have some down time!
12. She is very interested in learning how to read. She can read some books already but the very basic ones and still asks me for help on certain words. She reads song titles in my car and that's kind of how she's learned. And we read 3 books every night. But she's really showing interest in it so we are working on it a bit. She also loves adding numbers together and can do most addition with numbers 1-10. She can write all of the letters lower and uppercase pretty well. I still help her on G's and maybe a couple other letters. Working on writing numbers better now.
13. She asked for Princess Lipstick for her birthday. Oh my.
We love her dearly and look forward to watching her grow this coming year. I honestly think she could go to Kindergarten this year so she's going to be extra ready come next August! We can't wait to watch her blossom even more.

Molly Anne's Rainbow and Unicorn Party
Molly Anne's 4th birthday party was on Sunday at My Gym! I booked it online and someone called me a few days prior to confirm everything. It was EASY.
They let you show up about 15 minutes before the party so we had a fast turnaround on setting up. The people there helped us and I knew exactly what we were going to do since we had been there for Maggie's party. Basically 4 tablecloths and a few other things and done. I got the plates, napkins, tablecloths and banner at Target.
We also had treat bags for the children and they were put together mostly from Target. In them were Molly Anne's favorite things - swirly straw, unicorn painting sheet, skittles (rainbow candy!), starbursts, bubbles and slap bracelets! 4 year old things haha!

Gee had painted the unicorn rainbow sign for Maggie's party and we got to use it too. Molly Anne and I went to Publix earlier in the day and picked out balloons! She chose every color of ribbon attached too! Since the party was at 1:30pm, I kept it simple with goldfish while they waited for me to cut the cake! They had juice boxes and waters.

They had the most fun playing and the instructors do a few games with everyone. It's a good balance.

This was the flying unicorn! ;)

Molly Anne's cake was rainbow inside and out and she loved it. A local lady made it for me. If you'd like her information, email me or leave a comment here with your email address and I'll send it to you! Molly Anne put all four candles on herself!

She looked at me smiling the whole time her friends were singing to her!

She blew all four out at the same time with no problem ha! I wasn't surprised, she had been talking about that moment for weeks!

This is what Grandparents do...feed little Grady cake! ;) Then give the child back to their parents! Haha! He loved it of course!

Cutting this cake was tricky...you couldn't do a pie shape slice because it was too tall. The lady who made the cake brought this piece of cardboard to slice it on to. Then we did vertical slices off of that so everyone got each color of cake. It's hard to explain but it worked!

The fam

Molly Anne opened all of her presents when we got home and wanted to do them all instantly!

I can't even name favorites but I will say the stomp rockets are not pictured because they were already being used in the driveway. Haha. And Cinderella's Castle lego set is on our dining room table because Molly Anne has wanted to do that constantly since she got it. We are about 1/10 of the way through 585 pieces. It's soooo good for her to do! Her Nana and PapaG gave that to her! Everyone was so kind to give her such special gifts. She loves everything! And then loves it some more!

This headband and the glasses has been a big hit too! You can see her lip is a little large...she fell at her party and it got pretty messed up. Vaseline is doing the trick now and I hope it's better soon. It looks pretty rough up close. Tough girl!

It was a magical birthday party day for our Molly Anne and we'll be celebrating for the next week! Tomorrow I'll get to read to her class after naptime (and she gets to take in a bag of show and tell items!) and Thursday (July 4th) is her actual birthday so we will celebrate then! And we will be in Maryland and will celebrate there too! Big week for our girl!

Summer Weekend
On Friday I skipped out of work early and grabbed Molly Anne and we went to the pool. Kevin met us over there and surprised Molly Anne with us getting a golf cart! She was thrilled and they rode home together on it. I ran and picked up Grady and we just ate at home and hung out. After the kids went to bed, Kevin and I acted like it was Christmas morning messing with the new ride. Mills LOVES it and I took him for a ride every night after bedtimes.

Saturday morning soccer with these girlies. Water break!

This was his first week of soccer this season because usually he naps during it. But I put him to bed a little early so he'd be up to go with us. He was mesmerized watching everyone play!

Molly Anne said, "take our picture mama, we are holding hands!"

After soccer, we had a quick turnaround and went to the pool with our neighbors! We ended up having such a fun day! We came home about 1:45 for late naps and chill time.

Grady loves the water. I dunk him every time we go to the pool just like they taught me at the kiddie swim place with Molly Anne. "Dunk" doesn't sound very good but basically he swims under for a second or two. This is getting him comfortable in the water in a safe way!

Nap time drink time!

Then we went next door and grilled out and everyone swam some more! We called it an early night after a big day!

Sunday was Molly Anne's birthday party day! We kept things very low key all morning so she'd be fresh for her party at 1:30! More details on that to come!

Molly Anne and Maggie swam all day. It's really good for Molly Anne to watch her swim because Mags is such a good swimmer. Swim team really improved her and Molly Anne wanted to do everything just like Maggie so this was good.
