Brick and Shingles

Just a little house update.  This is a picture of the actual shingles, brick and mortar our house will be!  The brick will have a mortar smear all of it which means they are purposely sloppy with the mortar and they spread it over the brick a bit.  It's a way to make it a little more white without painting or using lime wash.  

Plans are in for HOA approval as of November 1st so we are hoping we can break ground by December 1st.  We visited the lot the other day and the surveyor has staked property corners and our house corners.  Very cool!!! 

Election Day

Today we are all given the right and privilege to vote!  I purposely didn't early vote because I wanted to vote on Election Day.  Can't wait to watch all of the results come in.  Kevin and I have been obsessed with following the election via FoxNews.  After today, may we all come together as a nation no matter which candidate wins.  Go vote!

Kendall Visit

How is everyone this morning?  How about that time change when you have little children?  Molly Anne got the memo on Saturday morning and slept in but last night she was a nut because she felt like she was staying up an extra hour ha!  And this morning - she was up at 5:30am.  Ahhh!  I left her in there until 6:15am.  Every day she'll adjust and she'll be back to normal soon.  I kept her nap time and bed time the same as usual last night. 

Thursday afternoon Kevin picked his niece Kendall up and the four of us went to dinner and she spent the night at our house!  

Kevin went to Dallas on Friday afternoon for a family reunion and I had both girls!  I picked Kendall up from her daycare first and we had a special trip to Target!

I let her pick out a few things she really wanted.  I loved watching her decide.  She ended up with Elena and Elsa dolls.  And a mini my little pony.  She was soooo excited!  And I was so excited to see her so happy!  Target trip...something Aunts get to do for their nieces!  

We went to pick Molly Anne up then we came home and played outside with the boys from next door for awhile.  

After Molly Anne went to bed Kendall and I had popcorn and watched a show that she wanted!

Kendall went home that morning.  We had so much fun with her!

Molly Anne and I went to take care of Sarah's dogs mid day on Saturday!  Missing is Molly!

The rest of the weekend, Molly Anne and I didn't even leave the house except for two really long walks through the neighborhood.  This hound slept with me both nights Kevin was gone.  I love that pooch.

On our walk yesterday we saw the most gorgeous Golden Retriever named Atlas.  He was from Seasons Gold breeder.  Soooooo sweet.  Molly Anne kept yelling "Bubba" the rest of the walk!

Kevin got home yesterday afternoon and we went to check out our lot and watched the Panthers game.  Woohoo they won!

Five on Friday - Lilly Presents, Energy for Life, Molars

Happy Friday!

Today I have a few things...

1.  On Tuesday, Kevin invited me to go with him to a work workshop called Energy for Life.  It was a fantastic seminar and basically empowers you to have energy for life and tells you how to do it.  AKA - put your phone down, schedule your life right, make certain things a priority and time is not an excuse for not taking care of yourself.  

2.  In honor of Lilly Pulitzer's birthday, they're giving presents with a purchase tomorrow and Sunday, and they're all travel related!  How cute are they?!!  Visit the Charlotte store if you're local or you can always order online!

3.  This little one has been so sweet this week.  Last week she got her upper two molars and the bottom two are coming any day.  She had a swim lesson yesterday as well and we are hopefully going to start that back again.  It was a long month without Molly Anne in the pool.  Every night she pretends the tub is a pool and nearly gives me a heart attack!

4.  This boy got groomed last Thursday and is extra soft and fluffy!  We love him.  Molly Anne constantly says, "Bubba" to him.  Kevin taught her Bubba last week so now that is all she calls him.

5.  Last night and tonight we have Kevin's niece Kendall staying with us!  She was such a joy to have last night and we are looking forward to tonight!

Day In the Life - 10/24/16

I want to remember these days!  This was last Monday.  So here we go...



6a - my alarm goes off.  I put two feet on the ground and do my hair (usually just brush it) and make up.  No shower for me in the mornings, I'd rather sleep.  Shower at night.

6:15a - takes about 10 min to get Mills to get off his bed and go out.  He eats then I wash his face with a warm, wet paper towel (rotten!) then we go out back again 

6:30a - I put dishes away that were drying from dinner last night. MA still not awake. 

6:40a - I get dressed and make a quick breakfast to eat in the car.  

6:50a - I hear MA so I go get her dressed and give her milk and plop her in bed with Kevin.  He gets up and they eventually go to Becky's anywhere from 7:30-8:30 depending on what his schedule is that day.  

7a - I leave for work. 

7:30a - I get to my office.  

12:45p - I finally make it out to grab lunch at Teeter. I also have to get one thing for dinner tomorrow night.  

1:05p - back to my office to eat at my desk. Busy today.  I always try to front load my weeks and do a lot early in the week and let it taper off Thursday and Fridays.

3p - I leave my office to go get Molly Anne. 

4p - Molly Anne and I get home and I change into workout clothes and it's a nice day so I put her in the stroller, get Mills on a leash and we all go for a little run.  It's like knocking out three things at a time - MA likes being outside, Mills loves running and I get exercise.  Everyone's happy.

4:30p - back and I feed Mills early, start dinner, play with Molly Anne while trying not to burn dinner.  

4:45p - we all go out back to play and waste time until Kevin gets home.  She loves to swing in the hammock right now.  Also, she likes to gather acorns and sticks and try to fit as many as she can in her little hands.  

5p - FaceTime with my mom while in the playroom aka guest room.  I prop my phone up so she watches and talks to Molly Anne and I go vacuum at the same time.  Thanks Mom for babysitting my child from 500 miles away.

5:15p - I go turn on the oven and get dinner cooking

5:40p - Kevin is home and we eat dinner around 5:50 or so at the dining room table together.

6p - I clean up the kitchen while Kevin takes her for some play time since he hasn't gotten to spend much time with her.  

6:15p - usually I join them playing but today I'm going to put away some laundry and go take a shower to wash my hair.

6:30p - Molly Anne in the tub

7p - bedtime for her and I dry my hair

7:30p - I run around the house like a crazy person trying to get things straightened up and ready for the next day

8p - I really want to be watching Tim McGraw and Faith Hill on The Voice and also Dancing with the Stars but instead I turn it on in the den and go in the kitchen to prep dinner for the next night.  I can hear it.  After I finish in the kitchen, I go fast forward the DVR to parts I care about.

9:30p - I get on the phone with Hello Fresh because the gift card that I have won't work.  I spend FOURTY FIVE minutes on the phone with them and I'm highly annoyed.  Not even worth using the gift card at this point.  I think we're straight though and on 10/31 we'll get three meals in the mail.  First time using the service.  
  
10:15p - Mills and I go out one last time then we go to bed.

10:45p - I finally quit scrolling through Instagram and I go to sleep.  This is late for me, usually I'm in the bed by 9:30p.  

That's my crazy day!

Trick or Treating

Here are some pictures of baby duck and her lion!  We also got to trick or treat with two Minnie's!  We went to a few of our nearest neighbors and it was the cutest!

Halloween Play Date

These are the things I never want to miss because I'm a working Mama.  I'm incredibly thankful to my awesome company who doesn't mind if I slip out for an hour or two to take my girl to a Halloween playdate with our friends!
