I'll tell you...after our escapades over the past six weeks in China, Japan, Mexico, Vegas and regular weekly work travel, I'm so glad I have the below clothes. They make my life SO easy on the road.
First off, anything Lilly. Anything. It hardly wrinkles and if it does a bit, you can take it out of your suitcase, shake it out and it's perfect. In a place that we didn't have irons (the cruise ship), this was all so necessary. I literally could keep my dresses folded and pull them out after I got out of the shower, slip them on and I was ready.
Lilly Travel Pants. Best invention known to man. I don't know about you all but jeans are not comfortable. I wear my travel pants constantly for work when I'm on the road. I tuck them into my cowboy boots when I do muddy site visits or I slip on my Caroline TB flats and dress them up for a meeting. I took them to Asia and thankfully had three pair to rotate. Top notch.
This dress I got from PiperLime has been amazing. I don't usually stray from Lilly or J.Crew but this dress can be scrunched up in a ball and you take it out of your suitcase and there isn't one crease. I wore it here and here. It's on sale for less than $50. I got the black one because you can never have too many black dresses.
I also took A LOT of J. Crew vintage tees and 4" chino shorts. They are my go-to as well. Here I am in a vintage cotton shirt and my Lilly Travel Pants.
Tell me your favorite comfortable clothes that still make you look presentable!
In the Summer I like sundresses. In the winter/fall I can do jeans. I have a pair of Paige that are super comfy.
ReplyDeleteI usually wear workout clothes on the plane and then sundresses once I arrive. I've worn shorts maybe 10 times in my adult life! When I traveled around Europe after college I worse a jersey dress almost everyday! I am with you on the jeans, but I just got a pair of BF jeans from the GAP and I wore them on the plane to Mexico and they were sooo comfortable! I may have to try those Lilly pants.
ReplyDeleteLove that dress! Anything that doesn't wrinkle is a winner for me. I have the Lilly travel pants too and just love them. The piping makes them look nice while still being so comfy. Hope your travel schedule is slowing down just a little!
ReplyDeleteI will definitely look into getting a pair of those pants for work travel. Cardigans and my super-soft Lucky-Brand Tunic were life-savers in Europe. I get cold easily, so layering is key.
ReplyDeleteI am super intrigued by these travel pants....do you have any full length pics? I'm curious if they are more legging or more similar to my J.Crew minnies....
ReplyDeleteI usually wear dresses, so I don't have many work pants. I'm definitely going to look into those Lilly travel pants--the elastic waist sounds heavenly haha! Thanks for the tip!
ReplyDeleteLove that dress - sooooo cute!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great price on that dress. I'm always so timid about ordering online though-never sure about sizing.
ReplyDeleteI have a few of those J Crew vintage shirts in v neck and I love them, but all of mine seem to have a little hole right where the collar meets the shirt-I don't need it to feel that vintage!
I am thinking I may need to invest in a pair of travel pants...I'm guessing they're similar to the J. Crew Pixie pant?
ReplyDeleteI'm huge on easy, cotton dresses for travel!
