Thursday Finds

ONE - You won't believe the price of this dress I picked up at Belk this week. $29 Long enough for work and cool for summer. I washed the linen and hung to dry and no wrinkles...it's lined too!

TWO - my coworker came in wearing this dress in a different pattern and I was like that is sooo cute!

THREE - this crossbody color is a beauty! The multiple zipper pouches are so good for staying organized.

FOUR - an Amazon find that is good. Another hang to dry and perfect, no ironing or steaming. Wear now with sandals or later with boots/booties!

FIVE - the most beautiful flowers at our office for one of two gals that got engaged on the same day a couple of weeks ago!

Girl Time

I took Molly Anne to target last night to return a few things and look at some stuff. We just did a little loop around but what she sees versus what I see, amazes me! She noticed these cute chip clips, these crazy sponges that were in the shape of a cowboy hat, soo many graphic tees which she says is her style these days...and so much more! She NEEDED flower hair clips and this body scrub and the bronco tee!! She didn't get it all but she needed it!! Mini me!!

Also, she craves that time with me. She loves it. Take her to Target or HomeGoods or the mall, she is a happy camper! We don't always buy something but whew she loves when we do! She asks me all kinds of questions, we talk about all of the things. Treasured time with my favorite girlie!

OIB

We were in our favorite place this weekend! By ourselves. Peaceful. Did a couple things we've wanted to do - went and got some crabs and steamed them for lunch, also cooked some shrimp and got Buoy Bowls for breakfast. Got to see some friends at the concert and after dinner at Jinks. All good stuff.

All good stuff and the reason we have the place. To chill out after the weeks of hustling. Now we need to get a window replaced, a new door lock bc ours is rusted, and fix a flag pool. So much upkeep on a beach place. But mostly worth it! ;)

Randoms and Recipe

A few randoms for this week...

Tortellini, sausage and veggie bake. Didn't take long to make and so good. that's an Instagram reel link!

My kids love this. It's not perfect because it has 11g of added sugar but I love the 12g of protein. I add some sausage and call breakfast done.

We finally got a new TV in our main room. It hasn't worked since early June! We got a Samsung QLED and actually bought three of them. We are sort of redoing some rooms in the house and are adding these. I'll have to update you all more on that once we get a bit further along!

Weekending

Both kids did Slay basketball camp last week and were on the winning team together! Whoop whoop. They learn so much at this camp and they both still love basketball.

Looks like a little girl that wants me to buy her slime doesn't it?! Haha!

My cousin and her daughter came into town from Idaho. It was SO nice to see them and spend time together!

She is an amazing golfer and taught Grady how it's done! She's about to go play in college!

We had a weekend full of birthday parties including Molly Anne's last night! 9 girls painted pottery then walked to Marble Slab for ice cream. So fun! She is officially 10!

Thursday Basics

Just found some good ole trusty pieces this week. The jeans are in my cart. I may get petite though so they're not too long. Everything in this post is good. Eeeeks!!

Random Wednesday

1. I took Grady to a lacrosse clinic last night through CLA here in Charlotte so he could try it out. He LOVED it. I played lacrosse so it makes me so happy he likes it. Molly Anne does too. She said she wants to play again soon.

2. I had several ask about my Mom and I really haven't talked about that on here. She has never really had a healthy life due to major back/neck issues but she has dementia. She's only 74. It's terrible. Dementia is terrible. If you ever want to chat, please email me anniesadventures16@gmail.com. Not many of my friends have parents going through it since my mom is so young but I'd love to help anyone that may be in the same situation. 

3. Molly Anne has reentered our family as of last Friday after being at camp for 4 weeks. She has wanted all of the things that she learned from all of her new friends. None of that is occurring but a girl can dream and add to her amazon wish list! More slime, leave in conditioner that she thinks is necessary, a husband pillow and so much more. 

4. Summer is SO hard for working parents. I gotta say, I feel pulled in a thousand directions and that's coming from someone who has a flexible work situation. I've had a ton of public meetings at nights and that has been part of the problem but next summer, they can do their big away camps and then I'll have a college girl help. No different camps in Charlotte every week anymore. Plus, Molly Anne is growing out of that stuff. I love Summer.......sort of.....not wishing it away but whewwww!!!

5. I feel like I'm wearing the same three dresses to work these days. The workplace in general has gotten more casual but I'm a big believer that you work how you feel! Anyway, I need to figure out some new work clothes to refresh my life! Add it to my list to do. ;)

Tooth and Freckles

There is this one that lost a big ole tooth on Sunday...finally, because it got knocked at camp on one of his last days (end of June) and has been hanging on since. He was soooo excited but then a bit nervous for the tooth fairy! He hadn't lost a tooth since last August and Molly Anne hasn't lost one since then either.

And then there is this freckled little girlie! Still proudly wearing that yellow band she got for Seaman Survival. An intense swim situation at camp....below are the guidelines to get it. The 30 min face down float does it for me...they breathe to the side but still!

She's Back

We picked up Molly Anne from camp on Friday and we are sooo happy to have her back! She had the best time and wants to go back next year. So does Grady for four weeks! Wild! I'm so happy for them that they get these experiences.

The older she gets the more I want her to be surrounded by these good girls, zero screens and amazing experiences. It is so, so good and such a special place! She ran up to our car and went to Grady's door first. They really missed each other!

Grady and I did a bunch of kayaking this weekend. I also did a lot of laundry! ;) Then we toted everything back to Charlotte! Happy Monday!

Thursday Finds

I'm already tired of hearing about the Nordstrom sale and it hasn't started for me! But I prob will look around once I can shop!

ONE - I went to Sephora and Kendra Scott this week to grab Molly Anne a couple extra birthday gifts before we get her back on Friday. This set smells sooooo good I may have to borrow it from her! Great $35 gift too.

TWO - an adorable cardigan to throw on after the beach.

THREE - they made this bracelet at the color bar and she's going to love it.

FOUR - will be glad I got this softttt sweatshirt in the cooler months!

Other July 4th Pics

We took my Mom to the beach one day! She was too hot because there was zero breeze on that day. You can see my shibumi was worthless! But she used to LOVE the beach so I wanted to get her out there.

A beach sandwich just hits differently!

Dad grabbed grouper and shrimp from Doug's for dinner. Just so, so good. Our grill wouldn't start so I just used the Doug's seasoning and baked it for about 20 minutes on 350.

Grady was a happy boy having his poppa all to himself! Molly Anne is still at camp...!

It was a tough visit with my Mom but still always a good one. Her caretaker came down with she and my Dad which was helpful. Just different in concept. Day by day my friends. Not easy. Chat soon.
