Party and Oktoberfest

Friday schools were closed for Hurricane Helene. We didn't have any damage, just a bunch of branches down which we picked up on Sunday. The mountains of North Carolina are soooo sad. We are thinking of all. These two played so well together Friday while I worked.

Found this on my phone ha.

Friday night was a surprise 40th party for my friend Sarah! It was a blast and she was shocked. Surprise parties are so fun.

Saturday I played tennis then took the kids to Kate's Skates. Molly Anne had been begging me to take her because she is super into rollerblading. Grady had never skated before but he picked it right up super well. I think they were both shocked when I got rollerblades on and skated with them. Haha.

Flying around the rink!

Our neighborhood Oktoberfest was Saturday night. Yes we went out back to back nights which we never do. I was so tired!

When I got home on Saturday night!

Sunday we cleaned up the yard like I said, made chili, went for a 3 mile walk and just hung around. Early bed times for sure!

Talk soon friends.

Friday Looks

ONE - I got these earrings as a gift for a friend and she LOVED them. Had to order my own. They're special and you can also wear them day to day.

TWO - this is the shirt that I got in red and I had to tell you it's more than 50% off now. $50! It's a good one.

THREE - also on sale - 25% off. I love these With Ease tops!

FOUR - a perfect holiday party dress that you can wear for any event or night out. It is so nice being able to wash and hang dry and it is perfect to wear the next time. No ironing, steaming or dry cleaning needed.

FIVE - been seeing these Sherpa jackets here and there. Intriguing!

Randoms

I've been a bit MIA this week. Just trying to get some things done. I traveled yesterday. Then had an evening full of activities.

Grady in a hat that Molly Anne made. Silly dude!

Going to put these on both sides at our front door. Just need to get two that match. From Pikes if you're local!

We have been on book overload and I finally took the time to sort the books. One box of "save" childhood books your attic and one box of sharing books to some girls at work that have 1 year olds.

Ole Millsy is hanging in there. He went with me to pick up the kids on day this week! He's a good boy.

I still can't bring myself to buy pumpkins for the front porch. It's still so hot!

Hope everyone stays safe with the rain coming! I made white chicken chili the other day and it was so good!

Talk soon!

Parties, Baseball and American Girl

It was a nice little weekend around here. Minus my flat tire on Friday morning. Thankfully Hilary was pulling out of the hood at the same time and I threw my kids in her car so they could go to school on time! I was so mad about the tire because it's never convenient. But I had spent two hours at the dealership the day prior. So they rotated my tires and must have not put it back on right. Ugh!!

Lots of practicing on American girl dolls when I was little haha.

I played tennis on Friday morning against the number two team in the league. My friend had to pick me up so I could play. We ended up winning all three lines! Woohoo!

Friday after school Grady played with a few boys up at the clubhouse. Then we left so I could take Molly Anne to Emme's party! I don't have a picture with Emme but here is her little sis! It was fabulous as always. Lots of moms and 40 some kids. And a couple dads. And lots of drinks!

Silly puppy when we got home.

Saturday morning baseball! He played so well. He had a huge play in the field when he was playing first base. He had two hits and scored two runs. They were down 0-4 and came back to win 9-4!

She made up a dance to Grady's walkout song which she also picked out - Big Dawgs. Probably not the most great song language wise but it has a good beat at the beginning that Grady likes. She danced to it when he walked out.

Both kids had a friend over in the afternoon. They're the nicest kiddos.  I made them pumpkin bread for a snack! First loaf of the year. Grady is most obsessed with it!

Kevin and I went out in downtown Matthews before going to our friends 40th party at their house. We like to get an appetizer and a drink at several places which is what we ended up doing. First Seaboard (our fav), then Matthews Social House then Grace O'Malleys. All fun! Saw a client at the last spot which was great.

Daniel - the birthday boy!

Sunday I got to play tennis at a clinic with Hilary. We played singles and had a blast. Then I took Molly Anne to American Girl. She has wanted to have her doll's hair done forever and honestly I know this stage may not last much longer. It already goes in phases. So I took her. She had also wanted the rollerskates outfit since she is super into her rollerblades. Ahhh! She was very thankful I took her which was sweet!

Choir practice! And off to start the week. Lots of other little details over the weekend but keeping it simple. Talk soon friends.

Cool Fall Shoes

My friend was talking about finding some cool shoes for the Fall and that took me on a hunt for something different that not everyone else has!

Lobster Cobb Salad

Well Lobster Cobb Salad without the lobster and with Just Bare chicken nuggets!!

We used the lobster for dinner on Monday because we weren't sure when we'd be able to have this salad. Well, activities got cancelled yesterday so we could have had it afterall. Anyway chicken nuggets were good too! ;) Used this recipe. The dressing is so good.

I like salads like this because I prep the hard part on Sundays. Cooked bacon on parchment paper on a sheet pan at 400 for 15 min (so easy!) and used my egg gadget for the hard boiled eggs.

Why is a block of feta so much tastier than already crumbled feta? Ha.

I'll be back here tomorrow taking about cool shoes for the Fall!

Rainy Week and Easy Meal

It's been a wet week in the Carolinas. Lots of water in our backyard at the beach. We can live with this though. Better than in the garage which is also usually an annual occurrence. We are always crossing our fingers that our favorite place stays okay!

We had some snow crab legs from the grocery store on Sunday night. Just baked on a sheet pan for 5 minutes at 400 degrees. Super easy and the kids had fun cracking them. Served them with steamed broccoli and a baked potato. Easy peasy dinner.

Just stopping in. Hope everyone is having a nice week!

Weekend Stuff

Friday school hair do. Lots of different creations these days. No free for all hair in our world during the beginning of the year when you know what is all around!

Friday night MA had swim and G had baseball. Then we scooted over to the high school football game. Lots of chaos but the kids love it.

Saturday morning Grady had his first game. No jerseys yet though! He played catcher for a couple of innings!

Saturday night we went out for sushi.

Grady was into it! Molly Anne got Mac n cheese. Sorta rolling my eyes over that. But not worth the battle that night.

The girls next door and Molly Anne have loved having tracks drawn on our driveway for them to skate and rollerblade on! Had to have a new one done yesterday after the power washing!

Saturday night soccer on wheels after dinner. Mills also got a bath hence the wet driveway.

Hope everyone had a nice weekend!

Five on Friday - Necklace, Candlesticks, Power Washing and Field Day

ONE - stopped by Cotswold Marketplace this week which is the cutest shop ever. Picked up this adorable necklace. Just saw it and loved it. Typically wouldn't have bought anything but had to have this. Here is her website.

TWO - also grabbed these raspberry candlesticks. Love the pop of color! My mother would be ashamed I haven't burned the wick a bit!

THREE - had our house, driveway and sidewalk power washed this week. What a difference!

FOUR - my company had a field day last night so Molly Anne skipped swim and we went up there. The kids had a blast!

FIVE - Kevin has been out of town this week but he's back now. The three of us had a good week together but it's been busy! We've had a bunch of stuff every night but all good. I love these two.

Happy weekend!
