Kevin and I were talking last night about the bathroom scale so I figured it'd be fun to ask you all what your thoughts are.
He told me I shouldn't weigh myself every day. I told him it motivates me to eat better daily. Another motivation - how my clothes fit. I know when I've gained or lost weight.
What are your thoughts? Do you weigh yourself every day, once a week or never?
I weigh myself occasionally, but never once a day - I have pretty obsessive tendencies and I know I'd go crazy watching the half pound and full pound fluctuations.
ReplyDeleteI weigh every day so I can keep an eye on things. If it creeps up a few pounds I just get myself in check with my meals and within a few days it goes back to normal. Works for me!
ReplyDeleteI'm all over the place ... sometimes it's once per week, sometimes it's once per month or longer!
ReplyDeleteI weight myself every Friday. That way I can screw up in the weekend and have a week to get back into check before I step on the scale.
ReplyDeleteI weigh almost everyday. I've learned the hard way.
ReplyDeleteWhen I don't??
I get off track.
Clothes aren't always a good indicator because I carry weight in my arms, face, etc.
People may judge but I know that if I don't watch every 5-lbs it turns into 10 and then I'm screwed.
Brad weighs once a week(Friday) and generally gets pissed.
I do every morning! it helps to have a set routine and time to think about writing it down/my progress!
ReplyDeleteThe only time I weigh myself is if I'm at the doctor's office. I know a lot of people that weigh themselves first thing every morning to keep it consistent. I say if it motivates you than do what helps! I don't think there's anything wrong with every day to track progress.
ReplyDeleteI've never been a huge fan of the scale. I judge my weight more so on how I am feeling, physically, emotionally and mentally. If I am doing my workouts and eating healthy then my body feels great, if I am slacking on the working out and eating pizza then obviously I am going to feel miserable. Everyone is different but I definitely see how it could motivate you in the morning! Hope you are having a great week love!
ReplyDeleteBefore the wedding I weighed myself every single day, sometimes twice a day. I was in a competition with myself to eat better and work out harder than the day before. Now, I've calmed down so much and just go by how my clothes fit. If my skinnies feel a little snug, bring out the health food and extra gym workouts. At least for the time being, my scale is just sitting in the closet totally ignored. Ha!
ReplyDeleteWhat ever works best for you. I can get obsessive if I weigh myself everyday so I don't. I also know that I feel so much better about my body, no matter how much I weigh, as long as I work out.
ReplyDeleteWe don't own a scale. It is very freeing! I know how I look in my clothes, and I know how I feel when I eat crappy food so we keep everything in moderation. I have been there and done that with trying to reach a "number" and it is just really unsatisfying. But totally to each their own! Just what works for me :)
