1. Yesterday I was walking into Harris Teeter to grab lunch (they do this great meat and two combo for $6 where I can get chicken salad, kale salad and tomato salad and stay on my gest diabetes diet perfectly). Anyway it was 1,000 degrees and I had been at work since an early hour and honestly I was just toast. I'm sure I didn't look very presentable by this point but a lady who worked there stopped me and just said, "you look beautiful!" It was the sweetest gesture and I just kept saying thank you even though I knew it was farthest from the truth.
2. Last Saturday when I was in Nordstrom, I stopped to go to the restroom and there was a line. A stall came available and the lady in front of me said, "please go ahead, I know you have to go more than me!" I told her I was fine but thank you so much. She simply said, "I've been there." So nice.
3. One of my Raleigh girls sent me a text yesterday just checking in. I have another friend there that always is kind to check in. I have a friend in TN that checks in. My cousin texts me randomly to ask how things are. You all leave me the nicest blog comments ever. A good family guy friend from home texted me last night. Basically I have really awesome friends and I'm thankful. Note to self: check in on your friends/fam - it only takes a simple text.
I want to remember how incredibly kind people have been. There are really good people in this world! Pass the kindness on!
Getting a random text from someone asking how you are is just so thoughtful and sweet. It really can make your day! I should do it more often!
ReplyDeleteAlly- Life as I know it
I love this post. A kind word or a gesture can make such a difference in someone's day. I am a firm believer that there is more good in this world than bad. I am sure you DO look beautiful friend ---it's that glow right?! : )
ReplyDeleteI love that you took the time to write this out! Sometimes all we need as a little pick-me-up is to remind ourselves of all the great people we have in our lives. Can't wait until you next pregnancy update -- you're so close!
ReplyDeleteLove this - and I think you being grateful and noticing the kindness will only bring about more - and girl, you deserve it!
ReplyDeleteThis is the greatest! I had a reaaaaallll Monday of a Monday yesterday :) and J and I went after work to pick up a deck table we ordered..... and did not fit in our car. A guy walked to his car next to us, asked where we live, tossed our table in the back of his larger car, and drove it with J to the house. Just pure kindness out of his heart helping us out. So neighborly and wonderful. Good people are out there! :)
ReplyDeleteLove this post! Sometimes we forget how many wonderful people there are out there.

ReplyDeletePeople say a lot of DUMB things when you're pregnant, but then at the same time, you meet some REALLY kind people who will say things to you that make you see some good in the world again! Glad you're experienced so much of the latter this week :)
