How far along? 37 weeks, due July 3.
Size of Baby: Last Thursday at the hospital they did an ultrasound and the baby is 5.5 pounds, head down and has a head full of hair! ;) No surprise there on the head full of hair!
Gender: After last week's escapade - girl! But who knows.
Weight Gain: None. Baby is perfect they say so I'm fine with that. I'll still continue to down peanut butter like it's my job in an effort to gain calories in between my gestational diabetes limited meals.
Maternity Clothes: I may need to start wearing maternity tees instead of my regular ones. My J. Crew ones are still long enough but my VV and Lilly ones aren't. At this point, I'm not buying anything new. But I had bought a couple maternity tees from Gap that I had looked like an idiot in because I didn't fill them out. Maybe I'll try them on tonight.
Nursery: It's as finished as it will be. I haven't found a mirror for above the dresser so I think I may get a print of the baby done afterwards to hang there. Honestly, I don't think it needs to be this perfect room that belongs in a magazine. It's still our house and we LIVE there. And most importantly, I want it to be functional and it is so I'm good with it. I did get an ottoman and need to have it recovered - the guy I use to reupholster stuff is booked until October soooo it'll happen when it happens!
Movement: Yes and it shifts my hold body!
Got mini hand sanitizers for the nurses at the hospital! Lots of pink and blue!
Symptoms: So last Monday when that crampy stuff happened it felt awful and the on call nurse told me to hang tight and rest. It didn't get better Tuesday or Wednesday. Thursday at 4am is when I started getting really worried and it hurt a lot and I couldn't ignore it any more. On call doc said go to the office when it opened. We did. They kicked us out immediately and said go to the hospital. They say it is kidney stones. Morphine and hydrocodone did nothing for me. I have never had them before but at this point, what else could go wrong? So if I have kidney stones, I have kidney stones. I'm basically counting down until I'm a normal human again..! It was kinda cute on the way home that night, Kevin said, "I really thought we'd be coming home with a baby!" He was disappointed but of course glad to wait longer so the lungs can develop!
Sleep: Still up a couple times. I sleep hard in between. Sleep is evidently really important in making my fasting blood sugar be good when I get up in the AM so I must stay strict on nights out and getting good sleep.
Cravings: Everything I can't have. TCBY is in my near future. As is french toast, a dunkin donut and cereal. And a tanqueray and tonic made by my Dad!
What I Miss: Feeling like me. I can't wait. Kevin is very excited too. I think he's WAY over hearing me moan and groan haha!
Best Moment This Week: Surprise baby shower at work on Monday!!! I need to get the pictures so I can post about it!
Looking Forward to: Doc appointment tomorrow and a relatively low key weekend! I need to be consistent about meals and sleep so I keep my blood sugars down in the AM. It's ruling my life!!!
The hand sanitizer is such a good idea! It's perfect for nurses and doctors and also not perishable! So sorry to hear that you had kidney stones. You've really had a rough time of it. Soon your little one will be here though, and it will be all worth it!
