Best Buddies

Things are going well so far!  Molly Anne had her first pediatrician appointment yesterday morning and we loved the doctor.  She weighed 7 pounds and 3.6 ounces.  When she was born she was 7 pounds 5 ounces and when she left the hospital she had only lost 3 ounces.  It was good that she was back up a bit but docs have been pleased with her weight. They also told us yesterday she is 19.5" instead of what the hospital told us 20".  They say their length is more accurate than the hospital.

The doc gave us some feeding and sleep help and we tried that yesterday and last night. Molly Anne only got up twice between 10pm and 7am this morning which was awesome.  This isn't the doctors first rodeo (obviously) so we are thankful for her advice and it worked!

It has been so much fun having her meet our family and friends.  Mom is still here and is doing major laundry and cooking.  Kevin is trying to keep up with things at his offices, taking care of the yard and of course spending time with his favorite little girl.

Mills has been so good with her but I didn't expect anything else.  He's a golden retriever, not that I'm biased! ;) The first day he walked around panting but he's been normal ever since. I think he's figured out that she's not leaving!  Kevin and I have still been giving him attention of course.

Yesterday I ordered 5,745 things from Amazon. Bows, swaddle things the doc recommended, Mary Jane socks, pink clothes!, monogrammed bottle labels, a baby brezza.  And I booked a photographer to come over in a week or so.

Today we have a couple neighbors that are coming to visit and we are going to get a few errands done.  I really need to write thank you notes.

Thank you all for your sweet well wishes! We are SO excited to finally have Molly Anne here and feel like she should have been part of our family long ago!  She's very special and we are soaking up every moment!

  2. Mills is the best big brother! You'll have to give me some of those tips your dr told you. I've heard Moms on Call is great to get the baby on a schedule but just like you I'm clueless with this whole thing! So glad everything is going well you all and Molly Anne fits right in with your new family of 4!

  9. so glad these first days are going so well! I am surprised your doc is not having you wake her up to eat every 2-3 hours since she's not back up to birth weight. But so glad she is sleeping well! It's a game changer.
